Madison and Austin have known each other from a very young age. They always had an undeniable connection and friendship and as they grew older they just grew closer and closer. This is a true definition of soul mates and these two were lucky enough to find each other early on in life. Many people spend a lifetime trying to find a love like this. We feel so blessed to have met them on this big step in their lives when they shared their commitment to each other during their Maui venue wedding. After meeting them and spending time with them we truly believe that love knows no age!!

We began documenting their special day at the bridal suite at Steeple House. It offered a private setting for Madison to slip into her dress and reflect on the moment she’d been waiting for. We snagged a couple shots of Austin prior to the wedding and we just love his classic black and white tuxedo and look.

Shortly after they stepped outside to the beautiful setup just out front of Steeple House. This spot highlights a secluded yet picturesque setting for our bride and groom. Their ceremony was officiated by Reverend Joe and then they were off to celebrate with family portraits and then couples portraits! You don’t want to miss all the gorgeousness in the pictures below so keep scrolling!!!

Madison & Austin shared their own personal vows with each other. They were so heartfelt and you could see and feel Madison tearing up with happiness. You could see just how much love and admiration Madison has for her husband and family. Austin’s mom was tearing up in the ceremony as well and you could just see how filled she was with joy that her son was marrying his best friend and partner for life.

Madison & Austin were the sweetest couple! She radiated with the love she received from Austin. You could tell he doted on her with everything he had and loved her deeply. And the same went for Madison and the love she felt for Austin.

We explored the top of the cliffs and Madison was the most easy going bride letting the train of her dress get dirty and embracing the adventurous landscape Ironwoods has to offer. We know they will love their timeless wedding photos that will speak wonders of their love for generations to come!

✦ The Fairmont Kea Lani

Located in the heart of Wailea and just steps from the shores of Polo Beach, the Fairmont Kea Lani offers luxurious accommodations and world-renowned dining. Two of our favorite Maui wedding reception venues are located on the grounds of this resort: Ko Restaurant and Nick’s Fishmarket. Both restaurants offer tropical atmospheres and unbeatable cuisine.

~Ko Restaurant~

Located in the Fairmont Kea Lani, this restaurant sits near Polo Beach and is only a short drive away from any of our South Maui Beaches.

You can choose to either dine within the restaurant for smaller tables or book a private, intimate location surrounded by tropical palm trees, exotic flowers, and flickering torches.

With their intuitive “group dining menus,” planning a reception in Maui has never been easier…

You can add beautiful centerpieces to your Maui wedding floral order to bring an elegant personal touch to the decor of your table.

~Nick’s Fishmarket~

Nick’s Fishmarket is also situated in the beautiful Fairmont Kea Lani resort in Wailea. The name says it all: their cuisine is famous for its upscale, seafood driven menu, but they do offer meats and vegetarian dishes as well.

They can accommodate an intimate party of 2 at a table overlooking the resort OR they have a private dining room for larger parties that can be decorated however you’d like.

Speaker systems are restricted out of respect to other restaurant guests, but you can have a musician, a small hula show, or even a romantic first dance as husband and wife!

To give it a personal touch, you could add a couple of centerpieces to your flower order or work with our florist to set up the reception decor of your dreams.

✦ Gannon’s Restaurant

Gannon’s Restaurant is one of our favorite venues for Maui weddings. With sweeping panoramic ocean views and spectacular sunsets, Gannon’s is the perfect spot to say “I do” and then party the night away. The grounds are extensive, which means plenty of location options for your Maui reception.

~Gannon’s Outdoor Reception~

Gannon’s Lower Lawn is a great option for larger receptions on Maui with a little more focus on the guests’ experience. This reception spot is just off of the restaurant, so it’s private enough that you won’t get other restaurant-goers walking through.

What we love about this location is that it can have the look & feel of a traditional reception (with custom table layouts, a dance floor, and your own bar), but it’s still simple and budget-friendly like a restaurant reception!

It sits right above the ceremony lawn, so if you’re having a Gannon’s Grassy Knoll wedding ceremony, your guests can head right up to the reception while you venture to the beach for sunset newly-wed portraits.

They allow a DJ and dancing at this venue, and they also have an in-house staff that will help you plan the menu, bar, and dancing.

~Gannon’s Indoor Reception~

This area is used as a rain backup if you have a wedding planned at Gannon’s. The staff will prepare the area so you have a lovely ceremony set up that they can quickly flip into a reception.

Even though it’s a backup option, it’s still beautiful, lively, and semi-private. There’s enough room for dinner and dancing, and you’ll still be away from the rest of the restaurant.

If it’s not too windy, then you can overflow onto the patio where there are illuminated Palm Trees and a tropical pond.

Gannon’s indoor reception features the same delicious menu and decor options as their outdoor location.

You don’t have to book a large reception to enjoy the fabulous food and ambiance of Gannon’s. Their Upper Pond and Lower Pond (see photos above) offer tables on the sweeping terrace of their restaurant that will make your smaller group feel just as special.

You can have a cake cutting and a set menu just like a full reception, and enjoy the beautiful grounds that the golf course offers.

✦ Hotel Wailea

Voted “Top 21 Most Romantic Hotels in the World” by Conde Nast Traveller and “100 Best Hotels in the World” by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, the Hotel Wailea is more of an oasis than a hotel, and their Maui wedding receptions venues certainly follow suit.

~Hotel Wailea’s Anuhea Ballroom~

This space is simply stunning. For a 100% private experience in a hall fit for royalty, there’s no better Maui wedding reception venue than the Anuhea Ballroom in Hotel Wailea.

The hotel staff will expertly deck this elegant hall to accommodate your wedding party and decor. Although the ballroom is more intricate & expensive than their restaurant space (see below), it will allow more customizations, like entertainment, full privacy, and more menu options.

Voted “Top 10 Restaurants in Maui,” this gorgeous Maui wedding reception venue features exquisite cuisine and sweeping panoramic views. You can enjoy the amazing food of The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea in a semi-private outdoor garden setting.

This intimate space is perfect for a quick first dance and quiet enough for a toast.

✦ Four Seasons

The Four Seasons in Wailea, Maui is the epitome of high-end luxury. If you love the resort feel, with endless details and refined decor, then this is the venue for you. Situated in the heart of Wailea with an expansive view of the coastline, The Four Seasons Maui is an award-winning resort designed around elegance and luxury with a splash of tropical fun.

~Wailea Lawn~

If you select this breezy outdoor Maui wedding reception venue, you’ll have views of the resorts fountains and swaying palms. The hotel will do the catering for your meal and the staff will be available to help with decorations and planning.

~Beachfront Lawn~

This Maui reception venue at the Four Seasons is intimate and casual, while perfectly melding upscale contemporary with rustic beach vibes. You’ll overlook the ocean as you dine at a private table with a custom menu created by their expert chefs. This locale is one of our personal favorites for small receptions — even the founders of Simple Maui Wedding, Karma & Steve Hill, selected it to celebrate their vow renewal! The Four Seasons also has other lovely lawns to choose from. If a restaurant setting is preferred, this venue has several upscale restaurants such as Spago, Ferraro’s, and Duo to choose from.

✦ Steeple House

Built in the 1950s, The Steeple House is in the beautiful area of Kapalua, close to Ironwoods Beach and the Ritz Carlton.

This Maui wedding reception venue offers a lovely indoor setting where you can create a custom experience. The venue partners with Celebrations Catering, who can help with food, staffing, rentals, and more.

You can also rent their outdoor lawn for a reception under a tent.

We plan ceremonies here as well, so it’s a great option if you want to keep your ceremony and reception in one place.

✦ Merriman’s Restaurant Kapalua

View spectacular sunsets as you dine at the Merriman’s and indulge in live music during your Maui wedding reception. Their menu features an extensive wine list with numerous specialty cocktails.

You can buy out the entire venue, have a private table on the patio, or simply enjoy a romantic table for two in the restaurant. The Merriman’s Kapalua can accommodate any guest count.

✦ Plantation House Restaurant

Enjoy unparalleled dining with this award-winning restaurant. The Plantation House Restaurant received an ‘Aipono Award for “Most Romantic Restaurant” in 2008. Specializing in fresh fish and island-inspired cuisine, the menu is only rivaled by the breathtaking views.

The Plantation House Restaurant offers a beautiful outdoor setting for ocean view receptions. There are numerous dining options as well, from a fully private meal to a table in their dining room, or a cocktail hour on their patio.

Maxine & Ryan’s destination wedding on Maui was elegant, simple, and intimate… not to mention spontaneous! Just three weeks before their Maui vacation, Maxine & Ryan decided to intertwine their special day into their Hawaii get-away! Free from the stress of planning the ceremony, and with the stately mountains and glistening seascape in the backdrop, our couple was able to just relax and enjoy the moment. Can we take a second to say how in awe we are over their Hollywood-worthy “meet-cute.” It’s almost as if it was written in the stars… or, rather, written in the blueprint. With the historical Steeple House in Kapalua setting the stage, Conner & Jonathan’s venue wedding on Maui artfully melded a minimalistic approach with a bit of country charm. Built in 1950, the Steeple House is en route to the Ritz Carlton and features stained-glass, a gable roof, and idyllic ocean views.  

After meeting during their undergrad years, Conner and Jonathan went on to finish law school together and now practice defense in their hometown of Louisiana. But we have to admit, this cheerful couple made for the most delightful and spunky set of attorneys we’ve ever seen! And they didn’t hold back when it came to bringing their adorable-game!

Conner’s loveable and bubbly personality is effortless, and her spirit and profound natural beauty stole the spotlight!

And once she was adorned in all of her wedding glory, her father took his first look at the new bride… and we were honored to capture the tender moment. Can it get any more touching?!

Standing back-to-back against the door, Conner and Jonathan exchanged the heartfelt letters they’d penned especially for this day. Laced with touching details and sentimental memories, these poignant writings will be cherished for a lifetime…

We were head-over-heels about Conner’s sweeping mermaid gown. The cathedral-length veil perfectly complemented the elegant and sleek silhouette of her dress.

When Katrina and Kyle were planning their Maui Destination Wedding, they knew they wanted to have it at The Steeple House. And so our bride started following them on Instagram and saw a previous wedding there with donkeys and booked them right away because she LOVES donkeys! Planning a wedding with donkeys was a first for us, and we thought it was so much fun! Plus they not only created a memorable element but were also so loving, quiet and chill.

This Maui Destination Wedding was without a doubt a day to remember, and we just love all of the personal elements these two included! They have a dog named Cowboy who is 12 years old. He had to stay home during the wedding but Katrina found a store on Etsy that made an “almost” life-size cardboard cutout of him! You can find Cowboy with them during their ceremony and their group photo.

Getting Ready Details

Tori was so excited to get ready in the private bridal suite and then surprise her dad with a first look! She got ready with details such as her grandmother’s handkerchief and coin. Her mother even gifted her a new handkerchief with Tori and Jon’s wedding date!

So with something “old” and something “new” covered our bride was ready to walk down the aisle. But not before having a special moment with her father. It was such a tender experience that everyone in the room almost cried!

The ceremony was especially cool with a soft breeze and overcast skies. It wasn’t too windy, it was perfect! Tori and Jon went to elementary, junior high and high school together but didn’t start dating until after college. We loved helping Marissa and Travis plan their Steeple House Maui Wedding, especially since they got engaged while visiting Maui last year! And we absolutely love how Travis proposed. He decided to be adventurous and pop the question while repelling at a waterfall in Hana. Sounds amazing right?! But just as he was about to pull out the ring, he dropped it! He somehow managed to find it (without her noticed) and proposed away! What a great story!

The Steeple House

Besides having an epic love story, these two also had an absolutely epic wedding day! They wisely chose to get married at The Steeple House, which is one of our favorite venues for so many reasons. The first being that it has a beautiful bridal suite perfect for getting ready just prior to the ceremony! We love this because we know the last thing a bride wants is for her wedding dress to get wrinkled in a car ride. Plus it’s always nice to put on a few finishing touches before seeing the groom :).

Another reason we love this venue is the outdoor setting is out of this world! With majestic views from all sides, it really is an incredible place to say, “I do”. It’s also conveniently located right by one of the best beaches for wedding portraits! And we love that these newlyweds were able to head down for a few photos before heading on their merry way.

We were thrilled when Lori and Jonathon decided to have their Maui Destination Wedding at The Steeple House. This location is one of our favorites! And how could it not be? From the intimate bridal suite for getting ready, to the outdoor setting and beautiful indoor option it’s the wedding venue dreams are made of. We especially love that this couple decided to have their ceremony outside with their reception inside. Talk about a perfect set up!

Prior to their Maui Destination Wedding Lori and Jonathon were both a little nervous so having a first look was a really sweet moment for them. We love that they were able to share this time alone just before their ceremony. And we’re confident it’s an experience neither of them will ever forget! After saying, “I do” surrounded by loved ones our newlyweds were ready to head down to the beach for portraits with our sister company. Not just any beach though, this couple enjoyed a nice walk at one of our most popular beach locations, Ironwoods. So as you can see from beginning to end, this truly was a day to remember. Helping Shannon and Nicholas plan the Maui Venue Wedding of their dreams was an absolute honor! They were both so sweet and a pleasure to work with. Plus we were thrilled when they chose to have their ceremony at one of our favorite wedding venues, the Steeple House. This location can’t be beaten, not only is it gorgeous outside but the set up inside is amazing! Just see for yourself!

Not only are we glad we got to be part of this couple’s wedding day, but we are so glad these two found each other! Even if it was in a roundabout way, because let’s be honest, those are always the best stories anyway 🙂 . Our groom is from Australia and our bride is from Michigan, but they ended up meeting in Florida! Nicholas was there working on a boat, and Shannon was visiting on vacation when their paths crossed. They dated long distance for a few years, prior to Shannon making the leap and moving to Australia! Talk about a love story that has traveled the world!

At the close of their Maui Venue Wedding, our newlyweds were ready to celebrate with a celebratory dinner at The Plantation House Restaurant. Which is conveniently located just across the street from where they said, “I do”. We told you this location had it all!
