They’ve been building a life together in Northern California, sharing adventures, passions, and a home with their three beloved parrots: Calliope, Winnie, and Lolli, who are, by all accounts, their feathered children. They met seven years ago while working at a gymnastics center, becoming friends first, which somehow makes everything that followed feel even more meaningful. Friendship turned into something deeper during the summer of 2019, spent out on the lake in the California sun, and from there, their story kept unfolding with intention. Devon, a ballet teacher with a lifelong devotion to the arts, moves through the world with grace and passion. They first met back in 2004 while working together in retail, where friendship came first and love followed years later. Seven years ago, they finally took the leap from coworkers to soulmates, and when Rick proposed over dinner in Canada this past March, it set the stage for the most beautiful new chapter, their Maui venue wedding.

Held at the Royal Lahaina Resort, their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, the kind that makes you believe in love all over again. They stood together on the lawn, surrounded by the island’s lush beauty and ocean views that stretched endlessly behind them. The Hawaiian breeze seemed to pause in reverence as they said their vows, their words filled with gratitude, joy, and quiet certainty….

They looked absolutely stunning, Navy glowing with happiness and Rick beaming with pride. Their three children were there too, making it not just a wedding but a celebration of family, laughter, and togetherness.

The resort’s oceanfront lawn offered the perfect mix of privacy and breathtaking views, creating a serene and romantic setting for their vows. With the Pacific stretching endlessly behind them, and the soft sound of the waves nearby, it felt like their own little corner of paradise. One of the best things about this venue is how effortlessly it combines the best of both world, a secluded, elegant setting with easy beach access for stunning portraits just steps away.

Afterward, they wandered down to the beach and around the property for portraits. The sunset bathed everything in golden light, making their joy shine even brighter. They met eight years ago and got engaged on a California beach three years ago. Life moved fast, new jobs, new state, new adventures, and the wedding plans waited patiently in the wings. But when the timing finally felt right, everything fell into place. The best part? Michelle’s sister was getting married the day before, so the entire family was already on the island, ready to keep the celebration going.

Both Michelle and Will work as train conductors, a life that keeps them busy and always in motion. Their son, Billy, is their greatest joy, and together, the three of them fill their days with family time, laughter, and the simple happiness of being together. After the ceremony, they wandered the Royal Lahaina property for their newlywed portraits, glowing in that warm Maui light. Every tropical corner offered another perfect backdrop. Michelle looked radiant in a lace gown with a flowing veil that caught the breeze just right. Will, in his island-inspired look, was the definition of easy-breezy Hawaiian cool. Together, they looked completely at ease, two people exactly where they were meant to be.

As the evening faded, they made their way down to the beach, where the ocean glowed under the sunset. Those final portraits, barefoot, smiling, completely in love, captured everything the day stood for: family, joy, and the beauty of forever.
