Inside your gallery, you’ll find your full collection of edited images from your session. At the top of your screen is a pink menu bar consisting of Home (gallery view), Info (how to use your promo codes, price sheets, and contact info), Favorites (a folder of favorited images), and Cart. Below the menu, you’ll find even more options to make your gallery experience simple and more efficient for comparing photos, the option to share images, and simple purchasing options!

As you hover your mouse over the images in your gallery, you’ll notice a bar of icons appears at the bottom of each image. Select the Star icon to favorite your image. The Cart icon is to buy the photo as a digital or print product. The Arrow icon is to share to social media.

Our four Maui beach wedding packages at Simple Maui Wedding range in price from $2,550 to $3,850. The “Beach Elopement” option, which includes an hour of photography coverage, is the one we start with. Our biggest package, called “Stunning Beach Wedding,” comes with 3 hours of photography coverage. Our “Simply Beautiful Beach Wedding” package is the most popular, which costs $2,850 and includes 1.5 hours of photography coverage and all of the elements listed in the chart below, is the most popular.

Not every couple decides to include extras, but when they do, our most popular add-ons for Maui beach weddings are the custom bouquet upgrade ($85), flower crown ($125), and rental of our one-of-a-kind “Just Maui’d” Sign ($95). Other frequent requests include vendor services like videography ($1100) and live music ($350). 

✦ Hawaii Beach RECEPTION Cost

While a typical dinner reception is not permitted on a Hawaiian beach, we can provide a delightful “Mini Reception” as part of our beach wedding packages. A one-tier white wedding cake with fresh flowers, a cake table, plate, napkins, and a cake server are all included in the $1,075 price. Also included are sparkling cider toasts for the couple and their guests, a hula dancer, a musician, the couple’s first dance, and an additional half-hour of photography.

In addition, we provide a $525 “Cake Cutting Ceremony & Toast Package” that includes cake, cider, and an additional half-hour of photography. Instead of throwing a big reception, many of our couples choose items ala carte such as one of our elegant yet understated wedding cakes ($175) and cider for their guests ($50), then go out to dinner at a chic restaurant or luau afterward.

Location, property type, and demand are three variables that affect the price of Hawaii wedding venues. While the price of a hotel or resort can easily exceed both, a private location will generally be more expensive than a restaurant. Gannon’s Reception Costs

• For a simple venue reception with only 15 guests at Gannon’s, the bare minimum adds up at roughly $2,250.

A two-course meal at Gannon’s restaurant costs roughly $51 per person. For an unforgettable night, you’d also want to reserve their lower lawn ($500), open a cash bar ($100), rent their sound system ($300) and mini dance floor ($200), and include a cake and toast ($300). 

Four Seasons Reception Costs

• On the other hand, the booking prices of a reception at the prestigious Four Seasons in Wailea range from $3,500 – $11,000 plus. 

Events in this private venue require a minimum food and beverage spending of $300 per person excluding tax and service fees. This price point usually consists of cocktail reception appetizers, dinner selection, wedding cake, and beverages. Any optional enhancements or upgrades will increase the overall price tag.

• Average Round trip for two: $1,524

Valuepenguin tallies a roundtrip to Hawaii from $400 to more than $2,000, but these averages include first-class travelers. Most of our couples can fly coach to Honolulu from the continental U.S. for between $500 and $800 and then island-hop for an extra $112 each to Maui. 

Total roundtrip travel costs average out to $1524 a couple, but many cities like LA (where most of Maui’s visitors visit from) can get tickets for much cheaper. 

LODGING + SPENDING

• Total $5,407 = Lodging ($2,892) plus weekly spending ($2,515)

Lodging

Visitor statistics estimate the average daily lodging price on Maui to be $104 per person, with an average visitor stay of one week (7.7 days). For our estimates, we’re going to double this cost because the prices have likely been skewed by backpack travelers who opt for timeshares, Air BnBs, family accommodations, and even tents. Oahu lodging rates will also tip the numbers because their accommodations tend to be more affordable due to the dense population. This brings the bare minimum price of lodging to $1,456 per week. 

However, when it comes to hotels, our clients tend to favor the Hyatt, The Westin, and The Marriott Wailea Beach Resort. The average price for a 1-night stay at these award-winning resorts tallies close to $465 (ranging from $328 during the off-season in November to up to $800+ in the peak summer months). We estimate most couples will stay at least 2 nights (the day before and the night of their wedding), and looking at the experience of our own clients, we agree with the government data that reports most visitors stay for roughly one week. 

With hotel costs calculated in, this brings the estimated lodging cost up to $2,530 for a 7-night stay with two nights at a high-end hotel or $3,255 for an entire week at one of these pricier resorts. 

Spending

According to Hawaii government data, the average Hawaii visitor spending is roughly $109 a day ($829 x 2 = $1,658 total). However, suppose you’re coming to get married. • Find someone to help you make an entrance and signal to begin the ceremony
• If you don’t have a wedding planner, you’ll need to have someone in your group greet guests and show them where to stand without using signs. 

2. Research Maui Ministers

You’ll need to vet all the wedding vendors you’re planning on hiring, including your minister. Research multiple Maui ministers and browse their reviews to see if they’re a good match for you. Do they provide a quality ceremony? Do you know anyone who’s worked with them before? It’s important to figure out who this person is and how they’ll perform the ceremony. We work with many of the same ministers over and over because we know they’re passionate and trustworthy. It makes the whole process so much more seamless on your big day when you can trust your minister and that they love, love!

Things to consider while looking for a minister

• Reach out via email or phone to see if they’re available on your selected date
  • If your date isn’t available, then you’ll have to email others
• Figure out what kind of ceremony they offer
  • Is the minister in line with your religious beliefs or non-religious beliefs
    • Christian, non-religious, Hawaiian?
    • Do they offer the unique style you’re looking for?
  • Do they blow the pu’u (conch shell), provide a lei exchange, etc.?
• Communicate to solidify the final vows and any special touches you want to be included
• Think about what you want the minister to wear and make requests
• What would you need to do if you want to have your best friend officiate the wedding?

3. Research Maui Wedding Photographers

There’s a reason why they say a picture is worth a thousand words. High-quality Maui wedding photography is irreplaceable. No matter how beautiful your memories are, if they’re not captured behind a lens they’ll eventually fade with time. Getting married is one of life’s biggest moments, you don’t want to miss out on a single second of it. Without a doubt, you will want to relive this moment and share it with those who couldn’t make it. We work exclusively with our highly-reviewed sister company, Karma Hill Photography, which means our Maui wedding coordinators and the KHP photographers work in tandem to seamlessly capture all of the most unforgettable moments, from the first look to the posed portraits. Besides your love, your Maui wedding photography will continue to live on far past your wedding day!

Things to consider with a Maui wedding photographer

• Email to see if the date is available and ask for a price sheet
• Be sure to research their RECENT style
  • The images posted on their website might not be up-to-date
  • Will their unique style withstand the test of time? Or is it highly stylized and will eventually look dated?
• After you book, email them specific poses you may want
• Arrange a timeline that will work well for photos, then give the timeline to all other vendors
• Ask if the photographer is familiar with the wedding location
  • There may be special areas and missed opportunities if they aren’t
• What are their client reviews?
• How many retouched photos do they offer?
• What print company will they work with
  • Will you need to research a separate vendor to order prints?

4. Find a Maui Wedding Florist

Just as with everything on this list for your wedding day, finding a Maui florist begins with research. You’ll want to contact at least 3 wedding vendors and ask for images of the bouquets they offer as well as a list of price points. Many of the brides we work with request custom bouquets that our hand-selected florists can artfully match. If you’d like to add this personalized touch, reach out to your florist with photos of your desired bouquet. If it’s possible for them to create, make notes of any upcharges or additional fees. 

Other considerations while finding a florist: 

• Do you want bridesmaids’ bouquets and how do you want those to look? 
• Do you need boutonnieres? 
• Do you want additional florals for a beach or venue wedding?
• Do you want a flower crown or a flower circle?
  • If so, you may need to contact a separate florist to create these. 
• Does the florist charge a delivery fee, how much is it?

5. Choose a Maui Musician

If you’re not working with a Maui wedding coordinator for your Maui wedding or Maui elopement for your big day, then finding a quality musician on the island can be tricky. Many local professionals find work via Facebook or word of mouth, so our advice is to check multiple social media sites as well as Craigslist, refreshing often. Keep in mind that separating talented musicians from those just starting out is crucial. Be sure to request a sample of their LIVE work to ensure quality and only seek out musicians with reviews from previous clients. All of the musicians we hire are well-established and have built a portfolio of quality performances and punctuality. 

Other considerations with finding a musician: 

• What type of instrument do you prefer? Ukulele, guitar, harp? 
• Do you want a particular song?
  • If so, do they know it? 
  • Can they learn it? 
  • What is their upcharge to learn new songs? 

6. Pay all the vendors on time 

If you’re not an accountant by day, paying all of your vendors on time/correctly might be difficult to juggle. Especially if you are off galavanting on your honeymoon! Some vendors may require partial payment upfront, others will want it in full, while some might send you an invoice weeks after providing their service. Using a wedding planner means you’ll be able to pay us in your most convenient method, and we’ll pay the wedding vendors. A stress-free solution to any sticky financial situations that could arise! We use a system designed specifically to sort out vendor fees and keep track of any upcharges to ensure you’re not overcharged or hit with unnecessary late fees. If you plan on DIYing your Maui wedding coordination yourself, then consider a quality bookkeeping program that will help you manage the finances, or hopefully, you are good with Excel. It can be quite the process if you’re not good with numbers and tracking invoices, so they better you can be organized throughout the planning process, the better. Feeling stress-free about payments going through and sent is not a detail you want to worry about on your wedding day!

Other considerations with payments:

• Confirm with each vendor in writing on the cost for their services
• Double-check each bill to confirm that you’ve been charged appropriately
• Read and reread your vendor’s policies and agreements
• Some vendors may not take credit cards, so ensure that you have several forms of payment available 

Skills Required to Be a Competent Maui Wedding Coordinator: 

• Excellent at organizing information, tasks, resources, and people
• Excellent at project management from start to finish
• Excellent at dealing with deadlines
• Excellent at coordination of outside vendors to show up at a specific time
• Excellent at accountability for what does or does not get done
• Experienced in planning weddings and knowledgeable about having a wedding in Maui
• An eye for detail
• The ability to take responsibility for the outcome of the project good or bad

For many, this might be their first trip to Hawaii and they’re anxious about what to expect. For others, budget concerns may be secretly looming behind their enthusiastic congratulations. 

So how do you ensure your friends and family truly enjoy the occasion? It all starts in the planning stage! Scroll on for 8 easy ways to make your guests happy at your Hawaii destination wedding! 

1. Hire a Local Wedding Planner As Your Guide

First things first, hire a local wedding planner. While some out-of-state companies will try to coordinate your Hawaii wedding remotely, the overall experience is sure to be distant and possibly nerve-wracking. Hiring someone who lives in Hawaii cuts out the middleman and allows you an opportunity for a real human-to-human connection.  

A Hawaiian wedding planner will not only take better care of you, but they’re experts on the locale and have amazing connections. A local planner will help you make the best decisions to ensure your guests are happy and satisfied.

2. Send Out a List of Nearby Lodging

Hawaii hotels are not cheap. As a bride or groom, opting for the highest price tag makes sense–it’s your Big Day and you deserve the best money can buy! But your guests might already be cracking into their piggy banks just to afford the plane tickets. So research ahead of time or ask your wedding planner for a list of affordable lodging in the area. If you’ve hired locally, your wedding planner will be more than familiar with the town and able to give you the insider scoop.   

If you are looking to trim costs, we recommend looking into condos in the area. Most are much more affordable than the average hotel and feature kitchen units, which means big savings on food costs! For a family of 4, why spend $100 + per day on a hotel breakfast (not including tip), when you can make it in your condo for less than $25? 

3. Know the Location

Your guests’ experience can be dramatically different depending on the location and time of day. For instance, with Hawaii beach weddings, the guest count is legally restricted to 30, and items that need to be stuck into the sand (like chairs or arches) are also prohibited. Beach access can also pose a problem for those who are movement-restricted or elderly. 

Rain is also common in Hawaii… While they might not boast sandy shores, most venues in Hawaii have an indoor option, ample parking, and feature gorgeous views. A wedding venue can ensure rain doesn’t affect your Big Day, and that may help you sleep better at night knowing you thought of everything. Also, if you plan your timing accordingly, you can usually get some beach photos even if your venue isn’t on the beach. 

Ask your wedding planner for the pros and cons of each locale so you can determine a spot that’s still a dream-worthy place to say “I do” but is also comfortable for every guest.

4. Suggest Flight Insurance 

Things happen, and sometimes destination weddings in Hawaii need to be postponed or rescheduled (just look at what happened with COVID-19). But a global pandemic aside, traveling is never without risks, and flight insurance provides that extra bit of cushion if the unforeseen happens. The last thing you or your guests want during a trip to Hawaii is to worry about a flight cancelation or lost luggage.    

5. Inform Them of Weather Basics

Hawaii has a ton of stunning days with sunshine and blue skies…. Which means it can get HOT! And humid and windy. So let your guests know ahead of time about the weather basics. 

Have them bring a stylish hat for the occasion, put on sunscreen an hour before, and opt for an updo in case of wind. You should also inform women in your party that fixing a hairstyle can be difficult in the humid Hawaiian weather. Suggest they schedule in at least 30 extra minutes for hair and beauty prep.

If your ceremony is taking place on the beach, your guests will also need a heads up about the possibility of rain. And don’t forget to let them know what kind of shoes are best for the sandy shore: nothing beats sandals, slippers, or bare feet. You could also make a cute little basket like this one! 

6. Include TWO Tropical Must-Haves

While monogram cookies or mini bubbles on guests’ seats might be the perfect refreshment for a mainland ceremony, for a Hawaii destination wedding consider a collapsible fan and mini water bottle instead. Those other cute and personal Etsy-style details can always be included in their welcome bags.

7. Provide Entertainment

After that big kiss, your Hawaii wedding photographer is likely going to whisk you away for a series of romantic couples portraits against the tropical backdrops. Be sure to have something arranged to keep your guests entertained during this time. 

A venue might have an open bar or offer a cocktail hour, but if your ceremony is on the beach you may have to get creative. Arrange an early arrival time with your reception venue or restaurant and allow your guests to go ahead while you happily pose in front of the sunset. 

On the other hand, if you’ve hired beach entertainment, such as a musician, consider paying for an extra 1/2 hour and giving your guests the unforgettable memory of dancing to the ukulele with the hum of waves crashing in the background. 

8. Don’t Forget They’re On Vacation Too! 

Everyone loves playing tourist from time to time, and your guests are no different! As you’re planning your trip and after-wedding bliss, take a little extra time to compile a list of fun things for guests to do while they’re in Hawaii. Nimet was on the leading edge of the off-shoulder gown trend and really rocked the look! Off-shoulder gowns can be restricting if you hope to dance the night away at your wedding, but beach brides usually have simpler receptions planned so they can wear the style without worry. This couple toned down their Maui wedding styles by mixing hues of creams, icy blue, and ivory instead of matching everything to one shade of white. It kept their look more subtle.

Ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 less than our venue ceremonies, a Maui beach wedding package is a simple yet stunning alternative. If you love the idea of keeping it easy and breezy, then let the tropical greenery and panoramic views do the decorating for you! This truly is a “must-have” because many decorative items are prohibited on Maui beaches. Saying “I do” on the beach might not be the ideal option if you had your heart set on white chairs and a ceremonial arch on the beach (or anything else that needs to be stuck into the sand).

There are, however, a few clever workarounds that we’re more than happy to provide. Standing in a personalized flower circle that matches your bouquet is a lovely and unique way to tie the knot. And our custom “Just Maui’d” sign adds that extra “postcard-worthy” flair to your pictures. Flower sconces are beautiful options that add an elegant and celebratory touch!

Lastly, think about personal elements you can bring to the ceremony! Our couples love getting creative by including touching details that make their day even more unique and personal…

Since the maxium guest limit set by state law is 30, by design a beach ceremony is bound to be inimate and simple. So if your dream wedding is just the two of you with your nearest and dearest by your side, then a sandy beach might just be the perfect location for you!

Must-Have #2: A Flexible Attitude

Nature is unpredicable. Be prepared that anything can happen during a beach wedding …

Does this include a breathtaking Hawaiian rainbow arching across the sky? Yes, they are the islands signature! But like the word implies – rain is apart of the picture! Having a beach wedding requires flexibility. We try our utmost to ensure that everything goes according to plan and that your Maui wedding is as stress-free and as you’ve imagiuned, but there are some natural forces outside of our control …

Given the enviromental conditions of being on an island, rain is always a possibility on Maui. Also, episodes of brush fires and close-calls with hurricanes are not unheard of either. Thankfully, our team is phenomenally dedicated and always up-to-date on potential curveballs. We keep a well-trained eye on the clouds and we’ve had great success pulling off emergency location swaps that take our couples from rain to shine. While we can never guarantee it will be sunny, if we believe the weather will be milder at another shoreside, we may advise you to make a last minute switch. This means that having flexibility could make the difference between rainbows and rain showers. 

That said, there are rare occasions when the clouds are island-wide … and in these cases, we bring out the umbrellas and get ready to make a splash! It’s not just rain that might require your flexibility, it could be anything from jellyfish warnings, highsurf advisories, to children’s birthday parties … or even things we haven’t yet experienced! Allowing and embracing change will help prepare you for big day with your partner, come what may … at the end of the day your love and committment is ultimately the only thing that really matters! 

Must-Have #3: A Carefree Nature

There’s nothing like the photo-bombing magic of humpback whales frolicking in the waterfront as you say “I do.” … But what about an elderly man in a speedo and cowboy hat frolicking in the waves while you exchange rings? Yes, we’ve seen it before! It’s these moments that truly require a “go-with-the-flow” attitude which an make or break your special day.

With the exception of a few government areas,all beaches in Hawaii are open to the public. This can mean anything from children and dogs to barbeques and loud music… and yes, even a speedo or two. And due to regulations, we’re unable to ask anyone to leave or move during our time on the beach. But luckily our all-star photo editing team is on the job! And with their magic editing wands (and hours of hard work), they make those beachgoers in fade (quite literally) into the background. Although, we can photoshop that puppy or beach birthday party out to an extent – if the beach is very crowded it can be too diffcult to erase everyone out! So to that we say – we’ll do our best and embrace it!

While we think this sounds lovely, we know from experience that the best time for a shoreline ceremony is during the early morning or late afternoon. Not only is the sun hot and harsh during the midday hours, but the lighting is also extremely difficult to photograph and unflattering. Shadows under the eyes and glistening foreheads along with sweaty unhappy guests are common occurrences for mid-day ceremonies. And no one wants that on their big day!
