Have you ever wondered how love has the incredible power to heal and bring people together? Well, let us tell you the heartwarming story of Dan and Chris, whose journey from loss to love culminated in a breathtaking Maui venue wedding, as you’ll see below!

It all started online, when fate intervened. After Dan’s former partner passed away, Chris reached out to offer his condolences and support. Little did they know that this compassionate gesture would blossom into something truly extraordinary. They started dating in January 2020, and their love grew stronger with each passing day. Their bond was undeniable, and they decided to take the leap and got engaged in November 2021. And guess where the magical proposal took place? In their very own treehouse, tucked away in the back of their house, which holds a special place in their hearts. So we are beyond excited to share their special sunkissed day with you!

Tropical Blessings

Their Maui venue wedding was an elegant and enchanting affair, filled with Jewish traditions and adorned with a stunning chuppah. As Dan’s children stood by their side, the atmosphere was filled with love and joy. In addition, the simple blessings from the little ones added an extra layer of sweetness to the celebration. Everyone present was overjoyed to share in the happiness of this beautiful couple!

Dan and Chris originally booked their Maui venue wedding at Olowalu Plantation, but due to the recent wildfires on the island, our nimble wedding coordinators were able to seamlessly transition their celebration to Hotel Wailea on the South Side. And as you can see, it was just as dreamy as they could have ever hoped for!

After the ceremony, the newlyweds strolled hand-in-hand on Southside Beach for some incredibly romantic portraits. Against the backdrop of Maui’s natural beauty, their love radiated just like the setting sun. The island seemed to bless them with an awe-inspiring sunset! It was a moment where time stood still, and their hearts were filled with gratitude and joy!

Lastly, the way Dan and Chris look at each other speaks volumes. Their love is tangible, infectious, and truly magical. Their love story is a testament to the incredible power of love and the beautiful ways in which the universe conspires to bring two souls together…

Everything is better at the beach, including weddings! Anton & Daria had a simple, stylish, and fun wedding in Maui, and we’re so glad we got to be a part of it.

If you love whimsical style, stunning photography, and amazing scenery, you will love these images from Anton & Daria’s big day. We met this gorgeous pair at Poolenalena Beach for an intimate, wow-worthy ceremony. Check out some of our favorite moments below!

All The Right Details

Anton & Daria found the perfect balance between simplicity and glamour for their wedding in Maui. Hoping to ease any last-minute jitters, they had a private first look before beginning their ceremony. We loved how that turned out! They were able to share a few moments of quiet time, and take in each other’s beauty before joining their guests at the beach.

Of course Karma Hill Photography was there to capture it all!

A dear friend walked Daria down the aisle to Anton, and then Kahu Sean led them through a heartfelt, Hawaiian-inspired ceremony.

After they had shared emotional vows and exchanged their rings and lei, they officially became husband and wife! The joy was palpable, and their guests were in great spirits as they celebrated with the newlyweds.

The fun was only just beginning, though! We helped create a mini reception on the beach as part of their wedding in Maui. Everyone enjoyed live ukulele and hula as Anton & Daria cut their wedding cake, all while being only steps away from the ocean.

Manutea Nui E provided incredible Hawaiian entertainment, and the musician played a song so that Anton & Daria could have their first dance on the beach. What a sweet memory! Keep scrolling to see how glowing and happy everyone was during each moment!

A Wedding in Maui, A Love for a Lifetime

Anton & Daria look amazing — that much is obvious. But they’re also kind and warm, passionate yet playful. Working with them was a joy, and their personalities brought so much life to their images.

Po‘olenalena Beach was the perfect setting for their ethereal wedding in Maui, and their portraits are dreamy and romantic. The setting sun painted the sky with soft pastels, and the gentle ocean brought a calming presence.

We love how Anton & Daria brought both softness and vibrancy to their Maui wedding day — something that they’ll also bring into their marriage. Sure, things won’t always be pastel skies and endless blue ocean, but with a love like theirs, they can weather any kind of day.

Sheena and Vince’s Hawaii venue wedding looked like a tropical fairytale! Hotel Wailea was the location, and this spot created an enchanting background. Then, the sun began to set, so its brilliance effortlessly enhanced the dreamy ambiance. Lastly, our delightful bride and groom looked stunning! The Hotel Wailea was the venue for this wedding! We adore how the sweeping scenery at this destination created a dramatic but breathtaking background. The picturesque ocean views and lush greenery paired with the sun’s golden glow enhanced the magical ambiance! Then, the circle arc with tropical foliage added a dream-like feel to this event. We like this arch because it looks like an ethereal entryway into a fairytale!

The Enchanting Hawaii Venue Wedding

Reverend Joe Miles was the officiant for this ceremony! He beautifully delivered a heartwarming sermon. Then he effortlessly coordinated Sheena and Vince’s lei and ring exchange! Lastly, one of our favorite things about this wedding was how our charming couple shared personal vows. Their thoughtful words alone made this sunset event intimate and romantic!

However, we also love how Angelica from Karma Hill Photography didn’t miss a beat and captured every meaningful moment! Then, after the ceremony, our passionate pair took more exquisite portraits on Hotel Wailea’s lawn. All of these pictures are affectionate and tranquil. Not to mention, our beautiful newlyweds are glowing blissfully in every shot! Above all, we know Sheena and Vince will treasure these Hawaii venue wedding photos forever!

Before heading to the reception, Sheena and Vince had their first dance on the ceremony lawn. Kalani from Manutea Nui E played soothing melodies on his ukulele. Then above our happy couple was the sun’s soft glimmer. It was such a captivating moment!

Maui Wedding Reception Venues

✦ The Fairmont Kea Lani

Located in the heart of Wailea and just steps from the shores of Polo Beach, the Fairmont Kea Lani offers luxurious accommodations and world-renowned dining. Two of our favorite Maui wedding reception venues are located on the grounds of this resort: Ko Restaurant and Nick’s Fishmarket. Both restaurants offer tropical atmospheres and unbeatable cuisine.

~Ko Restaurant~

Located in the Fairmont Kea Lani, this restaurant sits near Polo Beach and is only a short drive away from any of our South Maui Beaches.

You can choose to either dine within the restaurant for smaller tables or book a private, intimate location surrounded by tropical palm trees, exotic flowers, and flickering torches.

With their intuitive “group dining menus,” planning a reception in Maui has never been easier…

You can add beautiful centerpieces to your Maui wedding floral order to bring an elegant personal touch to the decor of your table.

~Nick’s Fishmarket~

Nick’s Fishmarket is also situated in the beautiful Fairmont Kea Lani resort in Wailea. The name says it all: their cuisine is famous for its upscale, seafood driven menu, but they do offer meats and vegetarian dishes as well.

They can accommodate an intimate party of 2 at a table overlooking the resort OR they have a private dining room for larger parties that can be decorated however you’d like.

Speaker systems are restricted out of respect to other restaurant guests, but you can have a musician, a small hula show, or even a romantic first dance as husband and wife!

To give it a personal touch, you could add a couple of centerpieces to your flower order or work with our florist to set up the reception decor of your dreams.

✦ Gannon’s Restaurant

Gannon’s Restaurant is one of our favorite venues for Maui weddings. With sweeping panoramic ocean views and spectacular sunsets, Gannon’s is the perfect spot to say “I do” and then party the night away. The grounds are extensive, which means plenty of location options for your Maui reception.

~Gannon’s Outdoor Reception~

Gannon’s Lower Lawn is a great option for larger receptions on Maui with a little more focus on the guests’ experience. This reception spot is just off of the restaurant, so it’s private enough that you won’t get other restaurant-goers walking through.

What we love about this location is that it can have the look & feel of a traditional reception (with custom table layouts, a dance floor, and your own bar), but it’s still simple and budget-friendly like a restaurant reception!

It sits right above the ceremony lawn, so if you’re having a Gannon’s Grassy Knoll wedding ceremony, your guests can head right up to the reception while you venture to the beach for sunset newly-wed portraits.

They allow a DJ and dancing at this venue, and they also have an in-house staff that will help you plan the menu, bar, and dancing.

~Gannon’s Indoor Reception~

This area is used as a rain backup if you have a wedding planned at Gannon’s. The staff will prepare the area so you have a lovely ceremony set up that they can quickly flip into a reception.

Even though it’s a backup option, it’s still beautiful, lively, and semi-private. There’s enough room for dinner and dancing, and you’ll still be away from the rest of the restaurant.

If it’s not too windy, then you can overflow onto the patio where there are illuminated Palm Trees and a tropical pond.

Gannon’s indoor reception features the same delicious menu and decor options as their outdoor location.

You don’t have to book a large reception to enjoy the fabulous food and ambiance of Gannon’s. Their Upper Pond and Lower Pond (see photos above) offer tables on the sweeping terrace of their restaurant that will make your smaller group feel just as special.

You can have a cake cutting and a set menu just like a full reception, and enjoy the beautiful grounds that the golf course offers.

✦ Hotel Wailea

Voted “Top 21 Most Romantic Hotels in the World” by Conde Nast Traveller and “100 Best Hotels in the World” by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, the Hotel Wailea is more of an oasis than a hotel, and their Maui wedding receptions venues certainly follow suit.

~Hotel Wailea’s Anuhea Ballroom~

This space is simply stunning. For a 100% private experience in a hall fit for royalty, there’s no better Maui wedding reception venue than the Anuhea Ballroom in Hotel Wailea.

The hotel staff will expertly deck this elegant hall to accommodate your wedding party and decor. Although the ballroom is more intricate & expensive than their restaurant space (see below), it will allow more customizations, like entertainment, full privacy, and more menu options.

~Restaurant at Hotel Wailea Garden Option~

Voted “Top 10 Restaurants in Maui,” this gorgeous Maui wedding reception venue features exquisite cuisine and sweeping panoramic views. You can enjoy the amazing food of The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea in a semi-private outdoor garden setting.

This intimate space is perfect for a quick first dance and quiet enough for a toast.

✦ Four Seasons

The Four Seasons in Wailea, Maui is the epitome of high-end luxury. If you love the resort feel, with endless details and refined decor, then this is the venue for you. Situated in the heart of Wailea with an expansive view of the coastline, The Four Seasons Maui is an award-winning resort designed around elegance and luxury with a splash of tropical fun.

~Wailea Lawn~

If you select this breezy outdoor Maui wedding reception venue, you’ll have views of the resorts fountains and swaying palms. The hotel will do the catering for your meal and the staff will be available to help with decorations and planning.

~Beachfront Lawn~

This Maui reception venue at the Four Seasons is intimate and casual, while perfectly melding upscale contemporary with rustic beach vibes. You’ll overlook the ocean as you dine at a private table with a custom menu created by their expert chefs. This locale is one of our personal favorites for small receptions — even the founders of Simple Maui Wedding, Karma & Steve Hill, selected it to celebrate their vow renewal! The Four Seasons also has other lovely lawns to choose from. If a restaurant setting is preferred, this venue has several upscale restaurants such as Spago, Ferraro’s, and Duo to choose from.

✦ Steeple House

Built in the 1950s, The Steeple House is in the beautiful area of Kapalua, close to Ironwoods Beach and the Ritz Carlton.

This Maui wedding reception venue offers a lovely indoor setting where you can create a custom experience. The venue partners with Celebrations Catering, who can help with food, staffing, rentals, and more.

You can also rent their outdoor lawn for a reception under a tent.

We plan ceremonies here as well, so it’s a great option if you want to keep your ceremony and reception in one place.

✦ Merriman’s Restaurant Kapalua

View spectacular sunsets as you dine at the Merriman’s and indulge in live music during your Maui wedding reception. Their menu features an extensive wine list with numerous specialty cocktails.

You can buy out the entire venue, have a private table on the patio, or simply enjoy a romantic table for two in the restaurant. The Merriman’s Kapalua can accommodate any guest count.

✦ Plantation House Restaurant

Enjoy unparalleled dining with this award-winning restaurant. The Plantation House Restaurant received an ‘Aipono Award for “Most Romantic Restaurant” in 2008. Specializing in fresh fish and island-inspired cuisine, the menu is only rivaled by the breathtaking views.

The Plantation House Restaurant offers a beautiful outdoor setting for ocean view receptions. There are numerous dining options as well, from a fully private meal to a table in their dining room, or a cocktail hour on their patio.

Vibrant, stunning, beautiful—Few words could better describe the jaw-dropping Maui wedding of Anna & George. From the tender smile of the flower girl to the delicate details of the bejeweled accessories, this couture ceremony added a whole new dimension to the modern wedding. The Four Seasons in the heart of Wailea set the stage for a breezy outdoor venue that was luminous with lush greens and the subtle rays of the warm Maui sun.

Ordaining over the ceremony was the inspiring and joyous Hawaiian Kahu Richardo Hanako’o. With Richardo, there’s always laughter and smiles. The couple then exchanged touching vows which beautifully encapsulated their love and brought tears to their guests’ eyes. 

Draped in a stylish mermaid gown with lace details, Anna radiated a confident and romantic spirit, which is only to be expected during such a gorgeous celebration. We love how her glowing entourage of luminous bridesmaids were wrapped in a dusky rose that perfectly complemented the blush of the breathtaking bride.

Melissa and Sam met thru a mutual friend and were engaged for 2 years prior to their Maui Wedding! They loved their wedding so much Sam wishes he had proposed in a location equally as epic as Maui. We’re sure they’ll be back to visit again, you can never get enough of this beautiful island! They chose to have their wedding ceremony at the Hotel Wailea, and a dinner following at Gannon’s. Both of which are great venue options and are sure to create a peaceful and romantic environment.

The bride wore an elaborate wedding gown with one of the most stunning trains we have seen! She expertly chose to wear her hair up to showcase all the detailing in the back of her dress as well. So stunning! The groom rocked a black tux, which was exactly the right choice since Melissa was so elegantly dressed. With how perfectly these two compliment each other, we have no doubt they will have a long and happy life together as husband and wife! Heart racing, he was the picture of calm until he saw his future wife nearing, at which point he could not contain his grin. The two looked to be on cloud nine as they exchanged the personal vows they had prepared for one another.

With loved ones gathered, and emotions flowing, this was a moment filled with joy and romance. As day melted into night, and the light began to fade, we stole a few minutes alone on the beach with our beaming newlyweds.
