Stephanie & Michael had a beautiful Maluaka Beach wedding last week! This swoon-worthy couple traveled from Utah to elope on this scenic shoreline, and we’re so glad they did.

Stephanie donned a show-stopping gown, and you have got to see Michael’s reaction when he first sees her in it! Thankfully, Karma Hill Photography was there to capture each priceless moment, and today we’re sharing some of our favorite images.

Our Fabulous Fate

Reverend Richardo officiated Stephanie & Michael’s Hawaiian-style ceremony. He brought humor and emotion to the service, which was a perfect fit for them. They’re a lively and passionate couple, drawn to each other more and more as the years go by.

They met through work. It wasn’t a joyful or romantic place, but their relationship is. So good things can come from drab places.

Their Maluaka Beach Wedding was anything but drab. They brought so much personality and style and were all smiles as they became husband and wife.

Their personal vows had us all laughing and crying, and their wave of excitement washed over all of us when Richardo finally pronounced them married!

They included traditions from the Hawaiian Islands, like a lei exchange and oli aloha.

A Maluaka Beach Wedding for a Maui-Loving Couple

Maui is a special place for Stephanie & Michael. Their wedding trip was their seventh Maui vacation, so it really is a second home for them.

They got engaged nearby at Makena State park and knew they wanted an elopement that was true to them and their adventurous spirits. So they returned to our island for a beautiful, unique, and carefree Hawaii wedding at South Maluaka Beach.

We loved spending this dreamy evening with Stephanie & Michael. And now that they’ve returned home to their fur babies Buddha & Piper, they still have lots to look forward to: settling into their married life, reliving their wedding through their photos, and sharing their exciting elopement story with all their friends and family.

Jessica & Zachary had such a bright, joyful Destination Wedding in Maui. On a sunny Wailea morning, they met on the beach to exchange vows, take beautiful photos, and celebrate their marriage.

They’re such an adorable couple, and their guests were all so kind and caring. Now it’s time to share some of our favorite moments from their Maui wedding day!

Meant to Be by the Sea

Jessica & Zachary met by the water, so it was only fitting they married by the water too. Their love story started at a lake party. They shared mutual friends and found they also shared a romantic connection with each other.

Zachary proposed on a dock while their family watched on from a nearby hillside. It was romantic, sweet, and well-planned, just like their Destination Wedding in Maui!

When it was time to start planning their wedding, Jessica told her new fiance that she had always dreamed of a Maui wedding. She has visited the island eight times and wanted to marry somewhere meaningful for her. Zachary was completely on board. He had been here once and loved the idea of visiting again, this time to celebrate his love with friends and family.

A Morning Ceremony for a Destination Wedding in Maui

Jessica & Zachary chose a morning ceremony, which we think was perfect! They were having a blast on their vacation and wanted to maximize their time with family and friends. By beginning their day with a wedding ceremony, they could spend the rest of the morning and afternoon relaxing and celebrating.

Plus, the photos from their Destination Wedding in Maui are spectacular! The bright AM sun brought out the rich colors of the sky, water, and landscaping, which added so much depth to their portraits.

Maluaka Beach was the perfect Maui wedding location too! Both Jessica & Zachary stayed in Wailea during their past Maui vacations, so they were familiar with the area. We were able to get stunning photos with their toes in the sand and take advantage of the neighboring park, where even more backdrops awaited them.

On the sunny shores of Maluaka Beach, Allison & Brian promised a lifetime of love. Their Maui Wedding was such a dream: sparkling blue water, soft golden sand, and a stunning couple.

It’s been a week since we shared this afternoon with them, and now it’s time to share some of their wedding photos. Check out some of our favorite moments below!

Worth Fighting For

Allison & Brian’s love story begins years ago, when they met through friends. Together, they’ve built a life anyone would be proud of. Their cute daughter Ella is the light of their lives. They stay busy with their careers but prioritize family time.

And so, with this foundation, they decided it was time to take the next big step. Brian proposed spontaneously in Vegas. They were there for a UFC fight, but he chose a romantic Bellagio setting for the proposal.

When wedding planning began, Allison knew she wanted somewhere scenic and fun.

“I wanted something where I could wake up somewhere breathtaking on an important day in my life,” Allison told us. And Brian was all for it too!

So that’s how these two ended up in Hawaii for the very first time, having a Maui wedding with their nearest and dearest.

A Joyful Dance at a Maui Wedding

Rev. Richardo led Allison & Brian through an emotional and vibrant ceremony. After he pronounced them husband & wife, it was time for them to share a first dance on the beach.

CJ Helekahi provided beautiful mele for the couple and their guests, and they chose “Better Together” by Jack Johnson as their first dance song.

But the dancing didn’t end once the newlyweds moved on. CJ was joined by talented Meleana from Manutea Nui E, who graced everyone with the beautiful gift of hula while they enjoyed their time on the beach for the Maui wedding.

We couldn’t send the guests away without some group portraits, so we spent time getting photos with friends and family before spending some alone time with Allison & Brian.

Maluaka Beach Magic

Maluaka Beach was a dreamy setting for these love birds. They were able to wed steps away from the ocean and then take portraits along the shoreline. They cooled off in the shade of a tropical tree, walked along the water’s edge, and stole kisses at every turn.

Though the scenery at a Maui wedding is unbeatable, it’s the couple that really brings the magic. Allison & Brian were so full of love and life — it radiates through each image and each sweet word they spoke to each other.

From Chicago to Hawaii

Ted & Jeremy are Chicago residents who love visiting Maui. They enjoy the slower pace, the great weather, and the chance to escape their busy Chicago lives.

Recently, they’ve especially enjoyed talking with Maui locals and residents, learning about the island’s history, and appreciating Hawaiian culture. So their Hawaii-inspired ceremony with Reverend Richardo was a great chance to affirm their love of island traditions.

The two handsome grooms exchanged lei with each other and then presented flower lei to each of their guests. They had a small group of family and friends with them — they were all excited to be a part of a wedding in Maui!

Marrying in Style – a Wedding in Maui

Ted & Jeremy incorporated beachy florals into their ceremony as well. Dellables created two arrangements made of spiraling driftwood, small globes, and romantic flowers. Their female guests wore sandy neutral tones, which went perfectly with their ivory and blush arrangements.

After their ceremony, Karma Hill Photography captured some super dreamy couples portraits around the beach. We scheduled their wedding and portraits with golden hour, so they got glowy shots as the sun set over the ocean.

Throughout their wedding in Maui, Ted & Jeremy were romantic and playful, always ready to joke around and share a kiss — just the kind of couple we love working with!

The Celebration Continues

After their ceremony and portraits, Ted & Jeremy were off to the Four Seasons, where they had dinner reservations with their guests. The restaurants at the resort are a great place to celebrate any special occasion, but especially a wedding!

But their celebrations aren’t limited to their wedding in Maui! Soon these two will have a full reception back in Chicago, so they still have a lot to look forward to.

And while we were bummed to see our time with them at the beach come to a close, we know they’ll be returning to Maui soon to soak up the sun, bask in their romantic bliss, and learn even more about our island home!

For Lizzie and Pete’s elopement, we set up for their event on the south end of the seaside. Surrounding them was epic lava rocks, lush greenery, and foamy azure waves! Then the sun shined vibrantly behind the heavy clouds — making the sky look enchanting.

The Peaceful Maui Elopement

After Kahu Ricardo Hanako’o pronounced Lizzie and Pete as husband and wife, it was time for their cake cutting! During this tradition, our delightful duo was full of bliss and in their own worlds. There was no doubt they enjoyed their first experience as a married pair! Not to mention, we adored seeing them share affectionate looks and smile joyfully throughout this occasion.

Although radiant newlyweds had no guests at their elopement, they ensured their loved ones could join in on the celebration! Stephan Boeker Films was the videographer and documented every moment of this sunset affair.

Lizzie is an exquisite bride! Her Essence of Australia gown is airy and ethereal — it complements her classic hair and makeup flawlessly. We adore Marica and Ken’s beach elopement because it’s intimate and tranquil. Their ceremony focused on their connection and love for one another! This evening began when our passionate pair arrived at the shoreline together. However, our bride still made a grand entrance! First, Ken took his spot at the top of the seaside. Then Marica walked down the sand with her pastel bouquet in her hands! Once they were ready, Reverend Kuya blew his conch shell and delivered a heartwarming sermon.

Above all, our favorite moment is when Marica and Ken had their first kiss as a married couple! You could tell our charming pair was full of bliss. Our charming couple eloped on the sandy shores of Maluaka Beach! This location is a serene destination just south of Wailea. We love this spot because it has a long sandy shoreline and exquisite sunsets! Surrounding the seaside are beautiful natural landscapes; the epic lava rocks, sapphire waves, and lush greenery are our favorite backgrounds. Although there were heavy clouds in the sky, they didn’t stop the sun from shining brilliantly! It created the perfect ambiance for this event.

The Tropical Maui Beach Elopement

Polo and Kevin arrived at the ceremony shoreline together! They’re wearing comfortable but beachy attire. We like how sophisticated their black shorts and white button-up shirts look. In addition, we adore their custom leis! Polo and Kevin made their elopement unique to them by getting creating a floral arrangement perfect for them. They added white orchids, tuberoses, and a few different types of yellow flowers to their ti leaf leis! These delicate hues complemented the neutral tones in their attire flawlessly.

After Reverend Joe Miles pronounces Polo and Kevins as husbands, it was time for their photo session! Tenessa from Karma Hill Photography effortlessly captured our delightful duo’s first moments. Our Couple’s Story

Angelia and Daniel met in eighth grade while line dancing. They continued to stay friends throughout their school years! Then after graduating high school, they began dating in 2010. Four years later, they had their son, Frankie! Daniel proposed to Angelia in August 2019 during their family trip to Disneyland. He popped the magic question in the Tarzan Treehouse!

Once Tyler took his spot by the seaside, our bride walked down the sand. As soon as Mimi and Tyler met eyes, you could see the adoration on their faces. It was as if they were seeing one another for the first time again! Then, Reverend Joe Miles began delivering a heartwarming sermon.

Mimi is a beautiful bride! She did her hair and makeup herself — and she’s a pro! Paula & Mike were absolutely radiant at their Maui Beach Elopement. They had the perfect combination of excitement, humor, and love. So they were a dream to work with!

Oli & Mele – About This Maui Beach Elopement

Reverend Kuya officiated Paula & Mike’s ceremony. He included traditional Hawaiian elements, like the blowing of the Pu (conch shell), a blessing over them (an oli), and the exchange of lei. He brought both humor and heartfelt sentiment to the wedding, and it honestly seemed like he had known Paula & Mike for years.

Paula surprised Mike by having an ukulele musician at the ceremony — he loved it. Chayce played the sweet mele (songs) and stuck around to chat with Mike, who plays ukulele in a band with his friends back home in Oregon.

Better Together – About This Couple

Paula & Mike are semi-retired and are proud parents and grandparents. Fate brought them together when they both decided to go out on a limb and make a Match.com profile. Love blossomed and ushered them into a happily ever after!

They enjoy cooking, entertaining, and wine tasting. They visit Hawaii quite often, but they usually are on Oahu. So Maui was a special vacation for these sweethearts, and they were enjoying every moment. The Maui Beach Elopement was just one part of their romantic getaway.

Paula & Mike have been together for eight years, so they shared many memories. We think the best is still ahead of them, though. As they stood together as newlyweds, looking off to the horizon, they saw a great future full of ever-growing love and joy. We’re so glad we got to be a part of this core memory!

We could go on and on about this Maui Vow Renewal! The sweet couple, their simple yet chic attire, their supportive guests, and the stunning scenery are only a few of the many things we love!

The pastel hues in the sunset sky felt like a blessing upon Tania & Steven, who traveled from California to reaffirm their vows on Maui’s serene shoreline. It would have been a beautiful ceremony anywhere, but Maluaka Beach seemed like an extra magical spot.

Hawaiian Traditions

Kahu Euta Lightsy officiated this Maui Vow Renewal. His ceremony includes many Hawaiian traditions, including blowing the conch shell and a lei exchange. He also offered a Hawaiian blessing and shared ancient wisdom with the couple.

Vow Renewals are always extra special for us. We love how Tania & Steven are comfortable and safe with each other, but also bring newness and discovery into their relationship. They are always up for an adventure and eager to share kind words. Their love is a gift for each other and their precious children.

Maluaka Beach – A Fantastic Maui Vow Renewal Location

Maluaka Beach served as the location for Tania & Steven’s Vow Renewal. We love this spot! It has dramatic black lava rock, lush greenery, and beautiful blue water. You can usually catch views of Kaho‘olawe and the West Maui Mountains in the distance, and the sunsets here are amazing.

There was a pretty glow throughout Tania & Steven’s Maui Vow Renewal. And then the sky became vibrant as we took their final photos. The sun sets quickly in Maui, and the colors change quickly. Luckily this adventurous pair was ready to get these incredible shots in. Check them out below!

Lizzie and Reggie’s special day was an exquisite event, and you can see its beauty in every picture! Their Maui beach wedding was intimate and tranquil — everyone sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed the ceremony! Not to mention, Karma Hill Photography captured some gorgeous shots of our delightful duo. The stunning shores of Maluaka Beach were the location for this ceremony! We love how the natural landscapes at this spot created an enchanting backdrop. Then when Reverend Kuya blew his conch shell, you could tell Lizzie and Reggie were ready to tie the knot. Our bride and groom had soft smiles when their officiant began his sermon. Lastly, Ka’ena played soothing tunes on his ukulele. He effortlessly enhanced the dreamy ambiance as he performed Hawaiian music throughout this seaside occasion!

Why They Had a Maui Beach Wedding

For Lizzie and Reggie, the thought of planning a large wedding for both of their families was overwhelming. Once they learned about us, they knew they’d found the perfect option! Our charming pair would be able to have a magical day they would remember forever without all of the stress. We’re thankful they shared this moment with us. Their ceremony was memorable, relaxed, and beautiful! Most importantly, we wouldn’t change a thing about this special occasion! 

Our Couple’s Story

Our passionate duo’s story began while they were in college. Lizzie and Reggie first met while pursuing Mechanical Engineering at their university. They became friends during their freshman year. Then they started dating during the final year of their undergraduate program!

Two and a half years later, Reggie proposed to Lizzie! He popped the question after returning home from work with a bouquet. Reggie even put the ring in a breathtaking wooden box he made himself; engraved in it were their initials!

Congratulations, Lizzie and Reggie! It was a pleasure to be part of your lovely day. We wish you a future full of gardening, beekeeping, and snowmobiling!
