Serafina and Peter’s Maui Elopement on DT Fleming Beach had all the romantic and tropical vibes! With the soft afternoon sun cascading over their shoulders, Serafina and Peter took the first steps to building a strong marriage based on love and respect. 

The Elopement on Maui 

We met up with Serafina and Peter on the rustic shore of DT Fleming. Known for its perfect waves, this Maui beach is situated on the northwest coast of the island, which means dreamy lightning and the rugged features of Kapalua. 

Serafina looked spectacular in a boho-inspired gown with striking geometric designs and an elegant silhouette. We loved how the simplicity of her beachy hair paired with the soft flow of her train. Looking sleek himself, Peter pulled off the classic navy suit with the confidence of a man about to marry the love of his life. We can not get over the sweet glances and smiles shared between these two! 

Our Couple’s Story

Serafina works as an LVN nurse in OB/GYN, and Peter is a firefighter for the city of Santa Clara. Together they live in San Jose, CA, and love to stay active. Serafina and Peter met through mutual friends at a wedding and have been going strong for thirteen years. 

In  2011, Serafina and Peter took a trip to Portugal and were engaged in the Azores Islands. Clearly, they love to travel and have even been to Maui twice! They knew the island was the perfect place for an intimate elopement. Keep scrolling for more of this sweet couple!

Molly & Chris are a sweet couple from Illinois that decided on a wedding in Maui! Like most couples who marry here, the beach is the best option for an intimate ceremony. The beautiful ocean and the long white sandy beaches are one of a kind here in Maui.

Molly & Chris had everything planned for a Lahaina Shores beach ceremony. It was super convenient and beautiful; they were looking forward to sharing their vows there. Then mother nature brought the high tide and you could barely see the beach they had a decision to make. Get married with their toes in the water, instead of the sand, or change locations to DT Fleming? They chose DT Fleming and we think it was a perfect choice. The beach was totally empty except for some firemen doing a beach training session along the shore. They stopped their training and cheered for Molly & Chris as they were pronounced husband and wife! Well played Maui Fire Department! It was almost as if we planned for you to be there!

Taking a walk on the beach, being present in the moment is a must after their stunning ceremony! DT Fleming is such a gorgeous location for a wedding in Hawaii. The gorgeous white sand and rock outcroppings provide a gorgeous back for the perfect ceremony photos.

Melony and Seth were engaged for two years before getting married because they wanted their family to attend their Maui Destination Wedding. They really wanted to share their special day with loved ones, so they felt like it was the right thing to do to wait for everyone to save up and plan accordingly for their big day. And they’re so glad they did! They loved having all their close family members here!

Beach Wedding Details

Our couple also arranged for beautiful lanterns lanterns and a sign to be set up on the beach. These added details were such a subtle touch, but made all the difference! Plus it was an extra pretty day at DT Fleming. The bar by the beach was open so the guests all had a drink together before it was time to come down to the ceremony spot.

Their Maui Destination Wedding could not have been more perfect! And the cutest thing happened while our bride was waiting to walk down the aisle. A little boy leaving the beach came up to Melony like she was a Disney princess and was mesmerized by her! He couldn’t stop staring and following her around haha! It’s little details and moments like this that make a wedding day memorable and we loved being part of making this day a reality.

Selam and Vance kept their Maui Beach Wedding small with family and their best friend as their only wedding guests. We love the intimate setting this small group created. Plus this couple also had the genius idea to do a Livestream in order to include family and friends, not in attendance. So great!

Stacey and Tom visit Maui every year and took pictures with our sister company 5 years ago. So we were stoked to plan their Maui Vow Renewal! Most of their guests had never been to Hawaii before and had no idea what to expect. But one things for sure, this is an experience and occasion none of them will ever forget!

When Stacey and Tom got married 15 years ago their wedding color was coral, just like their “aloha ever after” sign. So we love that Stacey went with a non-traditional ocean blue dress, which really complimented the pastel colors from her wedding day. Also on her bouquet was a lady bug, and it’s the same lady bug pin she wore on her bouquet during her wedding day! How fun is that?!

Another super cute tear-jerker was the fact that Stacey had the same vows from her wedding day but added a few new things. Their vows had both Stacey and Tom in tears! It was especially touching to see their son participate in the festivities by walking his mother in, being part of the lei exchange and giving his parents hugs after the ceremony. Such a tender moment! But really this entire Maui Vow Renewal was full of one incredible moment after the other and we loved being part of it all 🙂 . We loved helping plan this bride and groom’s Maui Destination Wedding! In 2015 Reanna attended a Simple Maui Wedding, so we’re excited it was now her turn. It was a beautiful day at DT Fleming! The sand was white and clean, there were blue skies speckled with clouds, and we even had a little bit of rain after the ceremony which brought on the most amazing sunset for wedding photos!

This Maui Destination Wedding was full of thoughtful details and touching moments. One of Reanna’s bridesmaids gifted the bride and the other bridesmaids sandals (or slippers as we call them here in Hawaii), with our newlyweds’ last name on them. She even handcrafted shells on them too! Reanna said she’s the crafty one and knew it took her a long time to make these gifts, so they were really special! Our personal favorite part of the day was just after the ceremony ended, Shawn’s daughter Lily was balling with tears because she was so happy! It even made Shawn cry, it was such a tender moment and one we know none of them will ever forget. And neither will we! These newlyweds were so cute together and had a blast getting their feet wet by the crashing waves as they took a romantic walk before the sun went down. Brianna and Anthony were so excited to celebrate with their closest family and friends at their Maui Beach Wedding! And what a celebration it was. The excitement in the air was so strong it has us feeling all the good vibes being sent out to this happy couple on their important day. With the support of loved ones and common interests, we are confident these two will have a long and happy life together!

Not only was everyone on cloud nine at this Maui Beach Wedding, but they were also dressed to the nines. The groom and his groomsmen chose to keep it casual yet classy with khaki shorts and appropriately festive shirts. Anthony wore a muted yet traditional Hawaiian print shirt, while all the best men in his life wore white button-ups with little palm trees scattered in a polka-dot fashion. This style not only complimented the setting, but these shirts will also be a fun memento for these handsome men to always remember this special occasion. Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten our bride! How could we with how radiant she looked? Brianna wore a truly stunning wedding dress with a full skirt that created a dramatic effect against the sandy beach. We especially love the detailing on the bodice of this dress, we could study every section all day and still never get sick of taking in its beauty. She wisely requested a Custom Bouquet made up of white flowers and greenery to compliment but not detract from her styling, paired with a matching flower crown this bridal look was nothing short of perfection. Brianna wanted her bridesmaids to feel included, appreciated, and confident as they stood by her side so she thoughtfully ordered leis for each of them to wear with their long navy dresses. This was such a fantastic Maui Beach Wedding! The groom, Michael loves surfing and previously live on Kauai for 6 years. He met his bride, Shelly, in San Francisco where they currently live. He was so excited to bring her to the island for the first time, and what better way to celebrate than by getting married here?! They also invited their closest friends, it was a really fun group and made this wonderful day all the more memorable.

Shelly wore a fun lace wedding dress with a bohemian vibe! We are obsessed with these flowy bell sleeves and love the look of the tiered skirt that hit her knees. This was the perfect bridal attire for a Maui Beach Wedding, plus with a flower crown to top off her look she was absolutely radiant! Michael appropriately chose to wear a festive Tommy Bahama shirt with khaki shorts for a casual yet classy look. Well done! These two not only look good together, they also are experts at making each other smile. Just as it should be. This couple traded in the Seattle rain for the Hawaii sunshine at their Maui Beach Wedding. Diana and Daniel are both single parents and that’s how they connected while meeting online.
