Morning weddings have truly been missed these past few months!! The calm serene setting, the bright blue skies, the happy faces, there’s really nothing like it! Daniela & Brent’s Maui beach elopement was nothing shy of all those things; calm and serene, bright and vibrant skies, and filled with happiness!
Brent is a police officer and Daniela works in the school system in Illinois. She’s also going to school for interior design. This sweet couple was so happy to get out of the 40-degree weather in Chicago and had plans of adventuring around the island hiking and trying new restaurants for their honeymoon. After their gorgeous Maui wedding, they were prepared to enjoy it all as a newlywed husband and wife.

We absolutely LOVE the color of Brent’s suit! Daniela & Brent wanted to stay away from the super popular navy color but still keeping it blue. This color was perfect; they liked it because it reminded them of the ocean and still remained unique. Apparently Reverend Kuya really liked the color as well because he showed up in the same color kihei! The color looked amazing set against the morning blue ocean and the hues of blue in the Puukukui mountain range. Well done team!

The beach was gorgeous this particular morning!! A few people walking here and there but we pretty much had it all to ourselves. We took full advantage walking up and down before dipping off into the shade for a few shots in the greenery.

Thank you so much Daniela & Brent for choosing Simple Maui Wedding to be a part of your Maui Elopement! We really enjoyed meeting you and look forward to seeing you back in Maui soon.

“You Are My Soulmate…” is the English translation of Eres Mi Alma Gemela! Olivia & Nick are just that, two souls that were meant to join as one and live the rest of their lives together! Before their Maui elopement, these two met 12 years ago in Spanish class and they have been inseparable ever since. They were partners then in Spanish class and they are partners now in Life! There will be no more cheating off Olivia’s Spanish tests, ok Nick?
This sweet pair waited anxiously for months leading up to their Maui Elopement, not just with excitement, but with nervousness! No one knew if Hawaii would open to visitors. Every inkling of hope was quickly washed away whenever the state government pushed back the opening date. It was heartbreaking for them and heartbreaking for us.
But at the very last minute, a glimmer of light…. Just 3 days before their Maui wedding, Hawaii’s Trans-Pacific Travel Program was launched. Olivia & Nick were able to test just before they came and with negative test results, able to skip quarantine and get hitched!! It worked out perfectly for Olivia & Nick and we are beyond excited to share how everything turned out.

The beach was extra busy on the day of their wedding, but it as if someone was saving the perfect spot for their ceremony in the corner, away from all the noise and people!

Thank you so much Olivia & Nick for choosing Simple Maui Wedding to coordinate your Maui elopement! You were an absolute pleasure to work with and we’re so honored to have met you! We can’t wait for you to return next year for your 1 year Anniversary!!

The anticipation was truly felt by all of us for Tricia & Billy’s Beach Wedding in Maui. They waited a lifetime for each other, and we waited 5 months since our last wedding! It’s been rough not having weddings in our life every single day. We’ve been looking forward to this gorgeous ceremony just as much as Tricia & Billy!
Tricia & Billy met 3 years ago when she decided to swipe Right on Tinder. Billy thought it was his dashing good looks but it was actually all because of his name. See, Tricia’s dog was named Billy, and as all dog owners know, they are one of the most special beings in your life. She felt it was meant to be!

It was a beautiful afternoon at Southside Beach. The warm sun with a light breeze offered the perfect setting for these two to share their vows with one another. Although they had planned for many family and friends (and their dogs) to be there on their wedding day, things didn’t work out quite as planned.
Quarantine orders for the guests coming from the mainland made it nearly impossible for loved ones to attend. Instead, this resilient couple brought Live Maui Webcasts along to film it for everyone watching from their homes in the mainland. This awful pandemic may have put up hurdles in our lives but Tricia & Billy weren’t going to let it get in the way of their love. In fact, it’s stronger than ever now as they embark on this new chapter as husband and wife.

Billy restored his blue Bronco all himself! It was the perfect prop for their wedding pictures. Billy planned a fun “honeymoon weekend” adventuring around West Maui in the Bronco before heading back to work on Monday.

Saying “I do” in a Maui wedding dress under the Hawaiian sun is all the magic a girl could wish for! But pinch yourself … because this is your reality!
The big question has been popped. The location has been set…
And now you’re left wondering… what’s a girl to wear? Will a sweetheart neckline look okay on a rustic locale? Can the dress be short? Will a streamer or a train work on a sandy shore?
Yes to all of that!
Simple Maui Wedding has coordinated thousands of real Hawaiʻi ceremonies, and with help from our Maui wedding photographers, we’ve hand-selected our favorite cuts and drapes that are sure to complement any bride and any Maui venue. From jewel-encrusted gowns to silken simplicity, we’ve got your inspiration covered!
So grab a coconut water and scroll along with us as we detail our top 5 Maui wedding dress styles:
Are you planning a beach or venue wedding?
While the same dress can look gorgeous at both locations, understanding the “feeling” of your selected locale is a great place to start when drawing inspiration.
Is it a historic Maui wedding venue like the Olowalu Plantation House? Then perhaps a dramatic bustle or layers of elegant draping will make it feel as if you’ve transcended through time. Or maybe you’ve decided to say “I do” on the world-famous shores of Wailea? If so, then a tiered or fishtail dress that ripples like the rolling sea might be the perfect fit.
Taking the location into consideration is a sure-fire way to help you select the best gown possible for your special day.
The Season
While even the best meteorologists and weather apps can’t predict what Mother Nature will bring to your Special Day, knowing the wind and rain patterns of the season can help you get a vision of what to expect. Are sleeves a safe bet for that time of year? Or will strapless be more comfortable?
Although Hawaii isn’t nearly as susceptible to seasonal change as other locations, the time of year can bring subtle shifts in the weather and temperature as well as sunset and sunrise times.
But even if these differences are subtle, you can still indulge in a Hawaiian wedding that’s season-inspired! Who doesn’t love the dusky tones of a Fall wedding or the fresh blooms of a springtime affair? Just like the decor, your gown can evolve with the season. Try delicate pleats in Spring and a statement flounce for the Fall. Slip into an empire waist for the Summer or a chapel-length veil for the Winter.
Don’t hold back when it comes to making a dramatic statement with your gown!
The Time of Day
Solidifying the hour of the day will also help you prepare. Are you planning a morning or evening wedding? Both options are stunning times for saying “I do” in Hawaii, but each can give you drastically different backdrops. Do you need a dress that will embody the light and airy feel of the glittering morning ocean? Or do you need a gown that will pop against a firey Hawaiian sunset? Having a sense of time and temperature will help you narrow down your search.
Not taking the flow of the fabric into consideration can result in missed opportunities during the photoshoot.
A long, airy gown will almost become one with the breeze and cast a jaw-dropping silhouette against the tropical horizon. But while the weightlessness of this style allows it to flutter like angel wings, it might also make it hard to manage in the Hawaiian wind.
There are pros and cons to every fabric choice. So carefully consider the drape and weight of your material in order to select a gown that not only looks and feels great but also performs well at your selected locale.
While this may seem obvious, it’s endlessly important to take your own personality into account instead of rushing into the next bridal gown craze. What works for others might not work for you.
You are a radiant person, and you bring your own sense of style and charm to the occasion. That beauty within you has already captivated your partner, so let it captivate your guests!
Are you playful and outgoing? Then maybe some ruffles and bold colors will let your spunky self shine! Or maybe you’re more of a bookworm who loves fantasy? Then maybe it’s full lace sleeves that set your spirit aglow.
Your wedding photos will be treasured for a lifetime. Take this opportunity to capture your unique sense of style!

The truth is, it doesn’t really matter what you wear on your special day as long as you and your partner rejoice in your union. It’s your relationship that comes first, and your wedding dress is truly just another outfit.
But that said, what bride doesn’t want to feel gorgeous in an enchanting gown?!
We’ve titled this style “Boho-Magic” but it’s often referred to as Boho-Chic. Perfect for the artistic bride with a carefree spirit, this style blends in seamlessly with the tropical locales of Maui beaches. Boho-Chic showcases its gypsy origins with Indian-inspired floaty skirts, embroidery work, delicate beading, geometric lace patterns, and Roman-style drapery.
This versatile style is perfect for brides with a whimsical and spontaneous side but who still long for the historical beauty of a classic.

While you’re dreaming about your own Maui wedding dress, be sure to read these four tips:

With timeless grace and an elegant silhouette, this Maui wedding dress never goes out of style.
V-neck or sweetheart, princess seam or mermaid cut, it’s the simplicity of these gowns that make them stunning. Nothing fussy or overly complicated, just smooth lines and casual draping. The “Clean & Classic” style highlights the bride’s natural beauty and stands out against the rustic oceanfront.
This style is perfectly suited for the regal bride who balances princess candor with modern simplicity. Need proof? Keep scrolling!

Come see all the Maui wedding packages we have to offer!

Perhaps the most popular dress style for a Maui wedding, lace gowns perfectly marry the magic of childhood with luxurious high-end designs. The intricate weavings call back to the “original” white wedding dress of Queen Victoria in the mid-17th century.
That’s why we’ve dubbed this third style “Lace Princess.” While it may resemble “Boho-Magic” at first glance, these designs draw inspiration from European lacework with a focus on finely thatched florals and elegant patterns instead of the bold geometrics associated with Bohemian styles.
This bridal dress style is perfect for fairytale weddings with traditional details.
Keep scrolling to indulge in all the royal luxury!

We’ve named this style “Tidal Angel” because it’s all about the way a gown shimmers and moves.
From dense ruffles to weightless chiffon, a Maui bridal dress that ripples like the tide is a sight to behold! And with accents of intricate lace or droplets of gemstones, these gowns not only reflect the beauty of the bride but the spirit of the sea.
Just add the tropical breeze and brilliant Hawaiian sun, and this style practically comes alive! This dress trend is best suited for the playful and spirited bride who loves a drop (or tidal wave) of extravagance.

Planning your own Hawaii wedding? Our Maui wedding coordinators and wedding planners on Oahu are here to help!

Who says a wedding dress has to be white? Or long? Or a dress, for that matter? Even though we’ve titled this style “The Rule-Bender” there really are no hard-and-fast rules when it comes to wedding dress varieties. If your gown fills you with joy, your radiance will outshine even the most shimmery of conventional fabrics!
So throw caution to the tropical breeze and be bold, be playful, and most importantly, be yourself. You’re in Hawaii… you’re getting married to the person of your dreams… what better time to make a statement and have fun!
We’ve sorted this style into 3 “Rule-Bending” cornerstones: Patters, Hems, and Hues. Tryout patterns that show off your charm, shorten those hems so you can kick up the sand, or dip yourself in hues that will make the traditional white dress blush.
We’re obsessed with the delicate and girlish charm of these printed and embroidered patterns. What a way to embody your whimsical side!

You’ll be kicking up sand on your Special Day, so don’t be afraid to raise that hem and go barefoot to show off your spunk! Check out these adorable rule-benders!

If you love the rule-bender style as much as we do, then you’re sure to fall in love with these colorful brides! A surprising hue makes an impression while showcasing your unique personality!

Whether you decide to have your gown custom-designed or choose to alter a family heirloom, as long as you love your wedding dress, it’s sure to make a splash on every Maui beach wedding location!
The hardest search is over… you’ve already found “The One”! And your dream gown is sure to be next… Happy dress hunting!

It was just the bride and groom for this simple yet elegant Maui Beach Elopement. On the white sands of Southside beach in Wailea, Anh & Josh said “I do” with the pulse of the ocean keeping tempo in the background.
With a romantic Boho inspired gown and a sleek traditional suit, not only is this couple dressed incredibly smart, but they’re book-smart as well! Anh and Josh met in college while pursuing their Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. And it seems that the prescription Fate wrote for them was only four letters long: love.

Together for six years, the couple took a special Thanksgiving trip to the breathtaking Sunset Cliffs in California. As they were overlooking the seascape and plunging cliff-lines, Josh asked Anh to be his wife.
And now, early in the new year, on the breezy Maui shoreline, and in front of an equally stunning seascape, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows before sharing their first kiss as husband and wife.

We love it when couples make use of the various scenery that grows close to the shoreline. And this couple longed for their Maui beach elopement photos to capture their love within the beautiful island landscapes that Southside beach has to offer.
From impish woodsy to a fiery sunset, we were ecstatic to help their portrait dreams come true!

Can we stress yet again how on-point Anh’s bridal style is? Her Boho-inspired gown blends tropical and romance in all the right ways, and when paired against her radiant beauty, this bride is truly showstopping…

And decked in midnight blue with leather Oxfords, Josh is pretty on-point as well!

For this breathtaking Maui Elopement, Alice & Matthew said “I do” with the aqua glimmers and tropical greenery of Southside Beach setting the stage. Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, this was the couple’s first trip to Maui–and what a first it was!
Alice and Matthew embarked on their Hawaiian adventure with a trip to the Big Island. Famous for its lush rainforests, the Big Island receives upwards of 10 feet of rain a year … and this year was no exception. The couple had to extend their stay on the Big Island an additional 24 hours due to the weather and worried their Maui wedding would be greeted with a similar downpour … But their special day was graced with clear skies and enchanting panoramic views!

The tender love between this couple blew us away. From their soft and intimate gazes to the touching moment when Matthew delicately wiped tears from his bride’s cheek … we were absolutely enchanted by their love story.

In graceful simplicity, Alice kept her jewelry to a minimum, wearing only a golden statement necklace to highlight her natural beauty.
Matthew presented her with the stunning piece during their stay on the Big Island … and we think it’s perfectly suited for his bride. The sacred hihimanu (also known as Hawaiian ray) means “magnificent” or “elegant bird” and is used to describe a woman filled with grace and otherworldly beauty. And looking at these captures, it’s abundantly clear that Alice is its picture-perfect embodiment …

Alice and Matthew’s Special Day ended in an exquisite sunset of rose and plum. It’s said that purple symbolizes perfection … and looking at this beautiful couple, we’d have to agree.

Mahalo nui loa, Alice & Matthew for selecting us to help plan your Maui Elopement. We wish you many more perfect days in the years to come!

With their closest family in attendance and the rolling waves of Ironwoods setting the stage, Sharon & Michael’s Maui beach elopement was an event to remember! And, of course, the couple was sure to include their “best girl” in the ceremony.
As a specially trained guide dog, Nav can perform a variety of intricate tasks… including bearing the couple’s wedding rings! We always love when couples interweave personal touches within their ceremony. It’s a great way to celebrate unique lifestyles and add that extra “wow” element. And precious Nav (with a ring pouch attached to her collar) not only added that “wow” but also the “aww!”

Reverend Peter Dagupion officiated the wedding, enriching the affair with sacred Hawaiian ceremonial traditions. It’s hard to summarize the intensely moving experience of being enveloped in the rich, tonal vibrations of Hawaiian chants and the blowing of the pu (conch shell). What a suiting way to solidify such such a joyous union!

We adored how Sharon’s gown beautifully mirrored the splashes of the sea. With a flowing fit that waved in the breeze and a sprinkling of gems that glimmered in the light of the late afternoon, Sharon evoked visions of a water nymph adorned in the foam of the tide.

Later, the couple slipped away after the ceremony for some dramatic yet intimate couple’s portraits atop the cliffside of Ironwoods. Few beach wedding locations are as striking. With the roaring ocean and Lānaʻi fading into the background, these captures are absolutely unforgettable!

When we asked Michael and Laura what they wanted their Maui Elopement to be, they told us “intimate and chill”. We think their Maui wedding ceremony was exactly that and more. It was also beautiful, moving and personal.

Micheal proposed to Laura at the top of her favorite hiking trail “sweaty and dirty” which she joked is their natural state. We’d say they clean up pretty well! We love their bridal style, with Laura’s lace dress gently blowing in the breeze and Michael’s blue suit complimenting the ocean, they looked perfect for their beach wedding.

They had talked about a courthouse wedding to take care of the legal side of the marriage, but then remembered they had a trip already booked to Maui. They decided to turn the vacation into a wedding and honeymoon! What a great idea! A beautiful intimate way to start your journey together as husband and wife.

They decided to make the drive together from the opposite side of the island rather than wait to see each other at the ceremony. This worked great for them and took a little of the pressure off, which kept the “chill” part of what they wanted. The ceremony started with a conch shell blowing and tears being held back. When they said their custom vows to each other, the tears could not be held back any longer. We loved how sweet they were to each other and the fact they took the time to write down their feelings and share them in such an intimate way.

Thank you, Laura and Michael, for including us in your “intimate and chill” wedding, we loved every minute of it! We wish you both the best in all your future adventures together!

When Abi & Olu’s Maui Elopement photos came into the office after their wedding the whole team was all “ooooohing and aaaahhhing” over just how gorgeous they were. Not only was their love radiating from the photos, their bridal style and floral was ridiculously on point.
Abi’s form-fitting mermaid dress with a flowing train looked stunning on the beach and on her! Olu’s tailored blue suit was perfect for the overcast morning weather, the soft tone complimented the sky and ocean perfectly. We also LOVED the custom bouquet Abi chose with the all-white tropical flowers and flowing greenery.

They met through a mutual friend of Abi’s, they didn’t live in the same city but when Olu came for a visit they quickly fell in love! They are both active in their church and enjoy volunteering as a quality way to spend time together. They chose a Maui wedding because they didn’t want a traditional wedding and getting married on the beach sounded perfect. Although they had never been to Hawaii before, they loved everything about the idea of having a destination wedding.
They decided on a morning wedding because they wanted bright blue ocean in their photos, but Maui decided that it was going to be soft overcast light that morning. We actually LOVE the way it turned out in photos making everything look so dreamy. We also loved the fact that Abi wanted some getting ready photos. It helped document the day and showed the process of getting ready to marry her sweetheart. After an intimate ceremony, the couple turned on their modeling skills for some gorgeous couples photos, they were so natural in front of the camera! They then had the rest of the day to enjoy together and get the honeymoon started!

When this couple started planning their Maui Elopement with us, we could immediately tell they were extremely laid back. Laurie especially! Kyle even joked, “she makes a terrible bride” because she still hadn’t gotten her dress 3 weeks before the wedding, haha. But she ended up with one of the most stunning wedding dresses we’ve ever seen!

We absolutely loved working with this bride and groom and were so inspired by their carefree personalities and way of interacting with each other. After being together for 6 years, these two have a very in sync relationship. And we are dying over how they met!
Laurie had downloaded the Tinder app for fun not planning on really using it. But, sure enough, they both swiped right and got matched! They happened to have lots of mutual friends so she let us know she was able to “check if he was a psycho” and avoid a date turned horror story🤪. Has anyone else been listening to real crime podcasts? Our entire team is hooked!
After an intimate Maui Elopement ceremony led by Reverend Joe Miles, our newlyweds were ready to showcase their love for the camera! When they’d mentioned previously that they “just wanted a couple of nice photos.” we told them they’d get that PLUS more, LOL. And our sister company delivered, just see for yourself!

The island was showing off extra hard with the soft lighting and glowing moon. This was Laurie and Kyle’s time here and Maui really left an unforgettable impression! And we feel the same way about these two.
Thank you, Laurie and Kyle, for letting us celebrate with you at your Maui Elopement. We had the best time getting to know you both and can’t wait for you to return, maybe on a special anniversary trip! Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

Melissa and Sandy live in Austin but also own a place here in Kihei so they come here a lot, and were excited to have a Maui Beach Elopement. Their excitement was magnified by the excitement of starting this next chapter of their lives not only as husband and wife, but also as mom and dad! Our bride is pregnant and they’re naming the baby Makena. So sweet!

After getting ready with the help of Maui Makeup Artistry, Melissa was ready to meet up with her groom at Maluaka Beach. Sandy was waiting for her as she pulled up, eager to see her in her bridal glory! We love that they were able to share this moment prior to their ceremony and then walk over to the sandy beach together.
When Melissa and Sandy first met, neither of them were looking for love but when they saw each other everything just clicked! It’s easy to see they share a natural connection. And we just love the way they look at each other with pure joy. We have no doubt these two will experience a lifetime of happiness with each other and their growing family!

Thank you, both, for sharing such a beautiful evening with Simple Maui Wedding. We are honored we could be part of your Maui Beach Elopement and wish you all the best on the journey ahead! Congratulations and Warm Aloha!
