Kevin and Kyung Mi’s Maui elopement was the definition of beach wedding elegance! These two lovebirds were so excited to tie the knot. In fact, when Kevin proposed in Paris, Kyung Mi said, “Finally!” Well, that time has finally arrived, and now they can say they are “Just Maui’d!” We are so excited to share their lovely day under the Hawaiian sun with you in these photographs below…

Their beautiful ceremony began with an ocean breeze, the sun at their backs, and the turquoise waters glistening in the distance. DT Fleming Beach was picture-perfect in every way. All of the elements were there thanks to our wonderful wedding coordinators to make their day extra special. Their Maui elopement was an intimate affair with just a handful of guests in attendance, but no less celebratory or meaningful. Everyone couldn’t be happier for these two!

The way they look at each other says it all! Our happy newlyweds live in Daegu, South Korea. Kyung Mi is Korean, and Kevin, originally from Madison, Wisconsin, is an English teacher in South Korea. And yet somehow, the universe brought these two together in the most serendipitous way! Although they were far from home, their home will always be with each other. Maui blessed them with a beautiful sunset in every dreamy pastel color you could imagine to finish their special day. A splendid sendoff into the next chapter of their lives!

“We wanted to do something small, in a great location, and keep it really simple,” our lovely pair told us before their Maui venue wedding. Zack and Anna were beyond excited to celebrate their special day with their close friends and family in paradise! Zack has been before, but Anna hasn’t, so this was just another opportunity for her to tick off visiting all 50 states! It was a beautiful and inimate affair and ended in the most magnificent way, as you’ll see!

Our happy pair opted for the lush property of Wailea Beach Resort, with the glimmering ocean by their backs and the sun on their faces. It was a lovely day in every way! The joy was written across their faces as they exchanged their loving vows of commitment in the bright sunshine.

These two love birds met online and have so much in common – their big sports fans! These two found their perfect match!

After their “I dos,” our lovely new Mr. & Mrs. went down to the rocky coastline (they love adventure, after all!) for some incredibly glowy portraits! These sunset backlit photographs are simply stunning! The setting sun enhances their love and the excitement they feel in the moment. Zack and Anna look so elegant in their wedding attire, from her silky gown paired with her fun sneakers and his sharp linen suit! And is that a sporty reference we see in their shoes and socks?! Arissara’s bouquet is perhaps one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen! Our floral partner, Dellables, did a fantastic job putting this floral pink confection together! It really pops against her creamy white gown trailing on the white sand.

Their Maui venue wedding was the perfect blend of beauty, fun, and romance. Ben and Arissara soaked up the magic of the moment until their incredible day ended with a dreamy sunset. After basking in their newlywed joy on the beach, they were ready to celebrate and cut the cake! And what a cake it was! The pink cake floral decorations were right on point! Sara made a beautiful entrance to her Maui venue wedding ceremony, where her soon-to-be husband Kenny waited at their stunning altar! Our lovely pair went for a traditional but nontraditional feel of a Persian wedding with the sofreh aghd on the grassy lawn at Gather. It was wonderful to see how they incorporated cultural elements and touches of tropical beauty into the golden circle arch and pineapples along the aisle. All these little details make their celebration feel that much more personal…

These two look head over heels in love! All the bounty and blessings of their sofreh aghd made their Maui venue wedding feel even more special. It all felt like a dream…They couldn’t stop gushing over each other! Their chemistry was palpable in every look and glance. With many kisses and hugs from their family, our newlyweds made their way down to Southside Beach to capture some romantic portraits by the waves….

These beach portraits are everything! Sara looks impeccable with her frothy off-the-shoulder gown…a true goddess! Kenny opted for a smart classic navy suit reflecting deep ocean blue. They were so at ease in each other’s embrace, laughing and giggling only as newlyweds can! They were beaming ear to ear as the sun slowly lowered below the horizon. And as you can see, Carly and Jordan opted for a stunning driftwood arch with tropical florals to serve as the altar under the swaying palm trees. Their Maui destination wedding had all the elements they were looking for – simplicity, elegance, rustic, with unique details.

Their intimate ceremony was full of emotion as they said their vows in front of those who mattered most to them. The way they look at each other says it all!

Carly was a vision in a frothy gown! The combination of pink and green flowers is so fresh! They both look so happy in these newlywed portraits! “We visited Maui 2 years ago and fell in love with the island, the beach, and the people,” Maria and Oscar gushed to our wedding coordinators before their Maui elopement! They absolutely love Hawaii, and it felt like the perfect place to tie the knot. Their sweet kids Summer and Julian joined in their parent’s celebration…it was an inimate family affair full of love and light, as you’ll see!

A Family Affair

Our beautiful couple exchanged their vows in the sunshine and ocean breeze with their kids by their side. They have been together for nearly 16 years, so this moment was a long time coming! But it couldn’t have been more gorgeous of a day. Hearing their words and witnessing their tender, loving glances reminded us why we love what we do!

We love how their sweet kids matched their parents from Maria’s flower crown and Oscar’s outfit! Their Maui elopement was just as much as the beginning of the next chapter of their love story as it was a special family moment. Maria and Oscar are beaming with love in these portraits! After they said their “I dos,” our photographer took the happy pair towards the rocky cliffs at Ironwoods Beach. With the turquoise waters in the distance, this was the perfect spot for their newlywed portraits with all the islands’ natural splendor surrounding them!

We can’t get enough of how stunning our happy couple looks on the rocks with the turquoise ocean at their feet. (Barefoot, of course!) On the other hand, our lovely bride, Quimbey, is a compassionate Registered Nurse who finds joy in cycling and spending time with their grandchildren. Their granddaughter, Zariuh, even had the special role of being the adorable flower girl on their big day!

It was another gorgeous day for our happy couple, Melissa and John’s Maui venue wedding! These two were drawn to the natural splendor and magic of the island…the fragrant flowers, the turquoise waters, the sunshine… what’s not to love? They thought it would be a wonderful vacation for their friends and family too…

Melissa, a Real Estate Lawyer, and John, an electrician, may come from different professional backgrounds, but one thing they definitely have in common is their love for adventure and friendly competition. With a shared passion for kickboxing, scuba diving (John’s thing), hiking, playing cards, fishing, and even running errands (yes, you read that right!), this dynamic duo knows how to make every moment count.

On their special day in Maui, surrounded by their nearest and dearest, Melissa and John chose Gather – a stunning venue overlooking the picturesque South Shores. The anticipation was palpable as John awaited Melissa’s entrance. And when he finally turned around, his reaction was nothing short of priceless! It was a wonderful day, the best day ever if you asked these two love birds! Everything down to the very details was spectacular, as you’ll see in these highlights below!

First things first, our wedding photography coverage began with Emily getting ready. Love, nerves, excitement… all the natural feelings were there as she donned her stunning lace gown! And what an entrance she made…

Something Different – A Day In Paradise

Their tropical ceremony was everything you could dream of, from the ocean waves just nearby to the privacy of this gem of a venue. Olowalu Plantation House is an exceptional oceanfront location for a Maui venue wedding and has all the charm and a historic feel. The elegant bamboo altar with blush-colored blooms of ginger, anthuriums, and protea was a signature feature of their inimate ceremony…so lovely!

But before we get into all the pretty details, here is a little back story on how these two met! So, Eric and Emily met in 2013 when they were students at the University of Michigan. They were in the same club and quickly became friends! After graduation, Emily went off to PA school in North Carolina, and Eric stayed in Michigan to attend medical school at the University of Michigan. One football Saturday when Emily was visiting Michigan, she ran into Eric, and their love story began! 

All their friends and family were so happy to be there to celebrate these two! They were surrounded by so much love and joy throughout their big day. Emily wanted “something different” for their wedding and thought a Maui venue wedding would also give their friends and family a chance for a Hawaiian vacation too!

It wasn’t long before the fun started with their bridal party! These will be forever standout moments from their Maui venue wedding. We love this property because it has so many secluded spots for moments like this! From the tropical foliage, oceanfront lawn, and rock jetty, there are SO many gorgeous spots for both candid and traditional portraits alike! After all, newlyweds need a little privacy after their “I dos!” 😉

These dreamy portraits of the new Mr. and Mrs. Colomb are simply breathtaking! It was so endearing to see how playful and sweet they were together. They laughed, smiled ear to ear, and savored each priceless moment of the first moments of newlywed life. You can tell they are the best of friends!

The cloudy sky in the background accentuated Eric’s pink tie and blue suit, which perfectly matched Emily’s pastel bouquet, don’t you think? Tropical wedding style perfection!
