Sometimes, love finds us in unexpected places. For Janice and Chase, their journey began in a microbiology class back in 2017. From being study buddies to carpooling partners, their friendship blossomed into something beautiful. In October 2022, Chase proposed on a beach in Kihei, setting the stage for their dream wedding in Maui. With a shared love for adventure and new experiences, a Maui destination wedding seemed like the perfect choice for our wonderful couple! It was a pleasure to bring their vision to life and see these two tie the knot under the bright morning sunshine…

Best Way To Start The Day

As the day unfolded, the radiant sun beamed down on Po’olenalena Beach, creating a striking contrast against the vibrant colors of the surroundings. The bright blue shades of the ocean sparkled in the morning sunshine, lending an ethereal quality to the atmosphere. This picturesque backdrop set the stage for Janice and Chase’s joy-filled ceremony.

Janice and Chase were a vision of happiness and love during their Maui destination wedding! Their smiles radiated pure joy as they exchanged vows, surrounded by their beloved friends and family. Their natural beauty is enhanced by the morning light, reflecting the deep connection they share. They embodied the essence of a couple deeply in love, ready to embark on their next chapter together.

Janice and Chase had always dreamed of getting married in Maui, and Simple Maui Wedding made their dreams come true! They originally thought about getting married in the Bay Area, but when they stumbled across our company, it was just what they envisioned! Every detail was perfectly curated to embody their unique love story. We made sure our team exceeded all of their expectations for their special day!

Annie and Sam’s destination wedding was the perfect excuse for them to visit Hawaii with their friends! They were thrilled at the prospect of getting married in one of the most beautiful places on earth and creating unforgettable memories they would cherish forever…

The excitement was palpable as Annie and Sam prepared for their big day. They couldn’t wait to see each other during their first look. It was heartwarming to see Sam’s reaction when he saw Annie for the first time! Their love was unmistakable, setting the tone for their beautiful ceremony, as you’ll see below!

Before their intimate ceremony, Annie and Sam took full advantage of the stunning surroundings at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa to capture some memorable portraits. This venue provides a beautiful variety of backdrops, from the ALOHA sign to the pristine beach in front of the resort. As you can see, they loved every moment while walking around hand in hand before they said, “I do!”

Our New Beginning

As they exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, there were laughs, tears, and every happy emotion in between! It was a beautiful celebration of love, bringing everyone together in joyous harmony. Annie and Sam looked forward to starting their new life together as husband and wife, with plans to start a family after their lovely time in Maui next year!

Their Maui venue wedding was an unforgettable experience combining breathtaking scenery, the smell of the ocean in the air, and shared laughing moments between family and friends. It was truly a dream come true for this happy couple, who couldn’t have asked for anything more on their special day!

A Maui beach wedding wasn’t always the plan for Monique & Brian. But after their California wedding was cancelled twice due to Covid, they realized there was no better place to wed then Maui! After all, they got engaged at Makena Cove and took portraits at Maluaka Beach. The island has a special place in their hearts!

They loved their Maluaka beach portraits so much, they chose that exact spot for their Maui beach wedding. The tide was high, but we had just enough room for a sweet ceremony with a gorgeous backdrop. If you look closely, you can see the other side of Maui and the island of Kaho‘olawe in the distance!

A Maui Beach Wedding Was Meant to Be

After their vows, Monica exclaimed “Finally!” which sparked laughter and cheers from their guests. This patient pair met nine years ago and kept trying to get married during Covid. Their relief was palpable as they finally arrived to their ceremony and finally got to be husband & wife!

Monique & Brian had their first dance right on the beach. Jimi from Manutea Nui E serenaded them to the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and some guests quietly sang along as they admired the sweet newlyweds. It all felt especially meant to be, because Jimi was the musician at their hotel the night before – all the way on the other side of the island! He had talked with the group for a while, not realizing he’d be their wedding musician!

Picture Perfect

After group photos, it was time for newlywed portraits with Karma Hill Photography. Monique & Brian were blessed with a beautiful sunset, so it was a stunning evening with a stunning couple. Check out that golden lighting!

We loved the attire at this Maui beach wedding. Monqiue chose her dress when she thought she was having a big wedding back home, but with a tropical bouquet it looked perfect on the beach. Brian looked dapper in his tan suit. It was like working with professional models!

Nicole & Avery, like so many couples, were blindsided by Covid-19 lockdowns and had planned a larger Maui venue wedding with friends and family. With restrictions on group size, restrictions on travel, and a statewide shutdown, Nicole & Avery had to put their backup plan into motion.

This beautiful couple thought 10/10/20 would be a perfect wedding date and decided to move forward with a simple plan. They found the perfect ceremony location and invited their closest family and friends to keep the group size down! We had to agree, this was the perfect backup plan and we were so excited to make it happen.

Their wedding venue, the King Kamehameha Golf Club, offers a beautiful mountainside setting overlooking central Maui. This private ceremony spot just past the Marilyn Monroe house sits right above a waterfall and pond and overlooks the golf course. Reverend Richardo officiated their intimate ceremony and pronounced Nicole & Avery husband and wife as their immediate family watched along! Sometimes the backup plan turns out to be the perfect plan and we’re reminded that everything is meant to be as it is!

Nicole & Avery’s little girl Aubrey couldn’t make it through the ceremony but she sure was adorable sleeping in her mommy and daddy’s arms afterwards. What a special moment for this sweet little family to share their love and commitment for each other.

Nicole & Avery met while Avery was working at Nicole’s Dad’s restaurant, Gianotto’s Pizza! We can all agree that Gianotto’s is a pillar in our community but we had no idea it was also a place where one can find their soulmate! Singles, take note!

After their ceremony we took full advantage of the picturesque setting on the side of Pu’ukukui Mountain range. The sun was shining, love was in the air, and we sure enjoyed capturing it.

After months of mandatory quarantine and shuttered hotels, we’re happy to learn that beginning on October 15th, 2020, the Hawaii Government will be welcoming visitors who test negative for COVID-19 to our islands! That means more happy couples and more beautiful Maui weddings!

If you’re planning to travel to Hawaii, follow along and we’ll help you understand the current Hawaii COVID-19 travel restrictions and avoid the quarantine.

Here’s a quick overview on what you need to know about the new Hawaii COVID-19 travel restrictions:

• Get Tested for COVID-19 72 hours before travel
• Plan for additional precautions at the airport
• Consider your guests

Now let’s break it down, so you can start planning your dream wedding in Hawaii.

Get Tested For COVID-19 Before Traveling to Hawaii

Beginning on October 15th, Hawaii COVID-19 travel restrictions will require documentation of a negative COVID-19 test in order to avoid the Hawaii quarantine.

Here’s a checklist to help you navigate the requirements, so you can relax and start dreaming of your big day:

• You must take the test no more than 3 days (72 hours) BEFORE arriving in Hawaii – no commercial testing will be provided at the airport
  • All travelers of all ages subject to pre-test requirement
  • Individuals will be responsible for testing costs
  • After testing and before your flight, please practice social distancing and self-quarantine to help keep our islands healthy!

• You must take the test PRIOR to traveling. You will have to still quarantine for 10 days, even with a negative test result once in Hawaii if you do not take the test prior to traveling.

• You will need to have your RESULTS by the time you fly
  • However, some tests can take between 3 – 4 days, so plan accordingly and ask your provider for their standard delivery timeline
• If you don’t take the test or if the results are not ready by the time you leave, then you must quarantine for 10 days.
  • During quarantine, you can only leave your accommodation for a medical emergency, you can NOT go out to get food or go to the beach
  • Violating the quarantine can incur a $5,000 fine and/or a year imprisonment.
  • So get tested for COVID-19 to enjoy your Hawaii vacay!

• CLIA is the federal regulatory system for regulating laboratory testing
• An antibody test will NOT be accepted

It is the traveler’s responsibility to confirm they are receiving the correct test.

Plan for Additional Precautions at the Airport

Even after you’re tested, there will still be more safety measures to ensure you can avoid the Hawaii COVID-19 travel quarantine. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect at the airport.

✦ You’ll need to create an account on the state’s “Safe Travels” website https://travel.hawaii.gov/#/

✦ Prior to your flight, you’ll complete a health screening on the safe travels website as well as input your flight information, lodging information and upload your negative COVID 19 test prior to boarding your flight.

✦ Once you have uploaded your negative COVID 19 test, you will receive a QR code in your email, it is recommended you save this to your phone’s camera roll as well as keep a printed copy along with a printed copy of your negative test results.

✦ If you have a fever before boarding, you may be prohibited from boarding the flight

✦ If you have a fever when you arrive to Hawaii, you will receive a further medical assessment

✦ When you get off the plane there will be state representatives before baggage claim to scan your QR code and give you a certificate of clearance. You may be required to show this document when you check into your hotel, so keep it handy!

What Does This Mean For You and Your Guests?

First off, this means your dream wedding in Hawaii is about to happen!! We’re jumping for joy along with you! Take a moment to do a cartwheel or two, and then glance over these few other considerations:

• Find out if your insurance will cover the test if it’s for travel
• Make sure all your guests have all the rules so they’re prepared
• You will need to wear a mask at the airport and on your airplane as well in all public places on Maui.
• There may be guest count restrictions from the state, be sure to check with your coordinator for the most up to date information.

This Also Means You May Want to Adjust Your Guest Count

So why not consider a small wedding or even eloping in Hawaii?

Having a Maui beach elopement is a beautiful way to celebrate your love. We understand that it may not be exactly what you’ve hoped for, but limiting your guest count to only a handful of friends and family may keep your loved ones healthy.

Many couples are opting for a very small celebration in the short term, with plans to host a larger celebration back home when it is safe.

To help you bridge the distance, we’ve created elopement enhancements that can be added to all of our Maui beach wedding packages. With these add-ons, a professional videographer will record or live-stream your wedding so your guests back home will be part of the special moment! We can even send them leis! So if you decide to elope, they’ll be cheering you on in style!

As the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) remains a global concern, we want to assure you that our top priority continues to be the health and happiness of our clients and employees. We understand what a scary and sad time this is for our clients, and we are here for you. We feel heartbroken as well. 

In order to ensure your health and wellbeing, we are following the recommendations of Governor Ige and Mayor Victorino and canceling all events for the next 30 days. However, we truly believe and are hopeful that this pandemic will be short-lived, so we are currently open and taking bookings for FUTURE dates.

If your wedding is between now and the end of April, we recommend rescheduling to sometime after 09/01/2020. This will ensure that we have enough availability, and airfare and hotels will likely be more affordable as well. All weddings that have been booked but need to be rescheduled due to COVID-19 will be guaranteed a price-lock for up to 2 years into the future, regardless of whether our package costs increase.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to know your new date to postpone; you can always let us know later!

Many of you have been proactive and have already arranged your busy schedules to postpone your wedding date. We encourage you to keep at it and to please continue to be patient with our team as we do our best to work with this incredibly complex situation. Things are changing day-to-day, and we will update available booking times as soon as we know more. 

We also highly advise that you postpone your visit to the islands until Governor Ige greenlights travel. Tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, and many other areas have been closed, which means, unfortunately, a visit to Hawaii won’t be the fun vacation you had in mind. Postponing travel will also help keep our island community healthy, as all local COVID-19 cases have so far been tourism-related. 

Lastly (but not least!), we want to assure you that this will pass, and one day soon, you will be standing beneath the warm tropical sun and saying “I do” to the love of your life.

We want nothing more than for you to have an amazing Maui wedding, and we can’t wait to be a part of it!

We loved all the unique details that Jordan and Zack put into their wedding. All of our weddings start with a Maui Wedding Package and then it’s up to our couples to decide how much or little they want to customize them. Jordan and Zack booked our Gannon’s Maui Venue Wedding package and added many special touches that made their wedding day 100% them. One of the first things the guests saw as they arrived was a lei and a fan on their chair to start the festivities.

Choosing to say their vows privately to each other after their first look was another special touch. This intimate moment was so special to witness and we know they will remember it for the rest of their lives. It was also a good way to take some of the pressure off and calm their nerves for their venue wedding ceremony!

The couple also decided to bring their own officiant, who married Zack’s parents over 30 years ago! That is not only special but has to carry some good luck along with it!

After the ceremony, the couple had fun taking photos with their wedding party. They all looked so good and the bridesmaids dresses matched the bright tropical theme that carried into the reception which included custom signs and pineapple centerpieces.

Before Jordan and Zack joined their guests at the reception, they snuck away to get some intimate beach photos. The colors of the sunset were extraordinary that night due to a fire in a different part of the island. The smoke in the atmosphere made the sunset look so dreamy and beautiful.

When they returned for their reception they enjoyed first dances, cake cutting, and a dance party. What a perfect end to a perfect day! We feel so honored that Jordan and Zack trusted us to help them plan this very unique venue wedding in Maui and hope they live happily ever after and hear about how amazing their wedding day was from their guests for years to come!

Having fallen in love with the Haiku Mill, Natasha and Sheldon knew it was the dream come true spot for their Maui Venue Wedding. Leaving the Canadian winter behind, they set out for this moment filled with romance and couldn’t have been more ecstatic about their big day. Surrounded by loved ones, including their precious son and daughter, the gorgeous duo were practically floating through the day on cloud nine. As they prepare to welcome their third bundle of joy, the happiness just continues to grow for our fabulous new friends that exude such warmth and an ease with one another.
