Kanaha Beach Park is a Maui gem that is sure to fill you with the Aloha Spirit! It’s our most overlooked Maui beach wedding location, but with its unique features and benefits, Kanaha Beach could easily be the best fit for your Maui wedding.

Our company’s founder, Karma Hill, considers Kanaha Beach one of the top sandy shores on the island! So there’s sure to be something extra special about it! With deeply hued waters paired against the greenery of the West Maui Mountains, your wedding photos will showcase a unique side of Maui that not many visitors have the luxury of seeing.

Where is Kanaha Beach Park Located?

Kanaha Beach is located minutes from the Kahului Airport and roughly 45 minutes away from the island’s popular resort areas. Its distance from the top hotels keeps many beachgoers and weddings away. That’s also what makes it such a great choice for a beach wedding, though. We’ve never seen multiple weddings at this beach like we have at our other Maui beach wedding locations. And on weekdays it’s easy to find a spot away from anyone relaxing or exercising on the beach!

Kanaha Beach Park Details

Kanaha Beach features a variety of backdrops and areas to explore! Located on the coastal line of Kahului, this location is a rare gem in the busy(ish) Maui city.

• 15 minutes from the Paia area
• 40 minutes from Kihei
• 1 hour or more from Lahaina

There’s plenty of parking at this Maui beach wedding location. Our wedding coordinator will meet you in the parking lot and guide you through the trees to the best spots for capturing your special memories. Morning hours here are vivid and blue, while sunsets tend to be a bit more subdued.

Other Considerations For Kanaha Beach

• You’ll only want to choose Kanaha Beach for a weekday wedding. Since it’s in the residential area of the island, it’s extra busy on the weekends when locals are enjoying the beach with their ʻohana
• With several parking lots, there’s plenty of parking at this Maui beach wedding location
• Kanaha can be a bit windy but we can oftentimes find a spot that’s tucked behind a hill to keep you and your guests out of the wind
• The park has picnic areas and showers to rinse your feet before you leave
• Kitesurfers can often be spotted in the distance and will use the beach to access the water
• Sea turtles are frequently seen in the ocean
• This beach is somewhat secluded on weekdays so there are days with very few beach-goers

At this Maui beach wedding location, the sun sets behind the West Maui Mountains, but sunsets here still offer dreamy and magical skies.

The backdrop at Morgan and Kegan’s Kanaha Beach Wedding was amazing! Just see for yourself. Iao Valley is one of our favorite spots on Maui. And it’s every bit as beautiful from afar as it is up close!

Before getting married these two spent the day in Iao! So it was perfect when at their ceremony Iao Valley lit up with beautiful sun rays peeking through the clouds. Which created a remarkable sight in person and in their wedding portraits. That’s not the only thing that caught our attention though, we also couldn’t take our eyes off of our bride and groom who both looked incredible in their wedding attire. Seriously tho!

Morgan was absolutely stunning in this high low wedding dress by Calvin Kline. Plus we love that she chose to wear block heels so they wouldn’t sink into the sand, making them ideal for a Kanaha Beach Wedding! And we can’t say enough about how great Kegan looked in a navy Tommy Hilfiger suit, which he paired with a white button up and brown dress shoes. Classy yet casual, well done!

Being part of Ashley and Landon’s Maui Destination Wedding was a pleasure! They were extra laid back and enjoyed every moment of their wedding day. They even went deep sea diving earlier in the morning, and Ashley took a relaxing nap on the boat while they were out 🙂 . The whole day was really chill, just the way they wanted! Our bride was especially calm when it came time to get ready at their Airbnb.

Her wedding dress was gorgeous and although it wasn’t the first dress she tried on, it was recommended by the bridal dress shop and she fell in love with it. And it’s easy to see why! Her short veil was carefully chosen so it wouldn’t hide the details of her dress. Plus how darling does the groom’s daughter look in her little flower girl dress? We especially love this photo of her and the bride holding bouquets and sharing a sweet kiss. So cute! This Maui Destination Wedding was full of lots of love and we know it’s a day this couple will always hold close to their hearts. After meeting later in life, Sharron and Mark were so excited to get married with an intimate Maui Elopement on the beach! They wanted something relaxed and simple with just the two of them to celebrate their love and excitement for the future! They chose to get married in Maui because they were already planning on taking a cruise, and so it just worked out. Mark is a veteran for the Coast Gaurd and this was his first cruise, while it’s Sharron’s third! Neither of them had ever been to Hawaii before, but they have both always wanted to visit. We absolutely love that this couple is able to enjoy so many adventures together! They also both enjoy working on their older cars, and it’s obvious they love traveling with each other 🙂 .

Our favorite part of their relationship is how they met! Mark was renting a house in Sharron’s neighborhood and he would wave daily as she went to work and back! How cute is that? They started talking and then Mark asked her out to dinner, and the rest is history! We’re so glad these two found one another. Not only are they a perfect match, but they also looked incredible together at their Maui Elopement. Sharron was a truly beautiful bride in a simple yet stunning wedding dress.
