Monica and Joshua’s Maui elopement began with one simple question: “What if?” What started as a family vacation soon became something much more meaningful. The Florida couple first met while working for the same company. Later, they quietly got engaged at home. However, Monica wanted a wedding day that truly honored their relationship and family. So, they chose Polo Beach for an intimate celebration designed entirely around them.

The ceremony unfolded beside a vibrant circle of tropical flowers overlooking the ocean. Monica looked incredible in a fitted mermaid gown and colorful floral hairpiece. Meanwhile, Joshua wore a neutral suit paired with a fresh maile lei. Their children completed the relaxed island look in beige pants and crisp white linen shirts. Together, the family looked elegant, joyful, and completely at home beside the sea.

Afterward, Monica and Joshua wandered along the shoreline as golden light warmed the beach. They laughed beneath the palms and shared quiet moments beside the lava rocks. Then, the Maui sunset arrived in a dreamy wash of soft color. Their celebration felt personal, vibrant, and full of heart. Most importantly, it honored the beautiful life they had already built together.

Congratulations, Monica and Joshua!

Wondering how to elope in Maui? It’s actually much easier than most couples expect. Once you know the basics, when to visit, how to get your Hawaii marriage license, where to hold your ceremony, and who will help bring it all together, the rest is surprisingly simple. This guide walks you through each step, drawing on the experience of Simple Maui Wedding, which has planned more than 2,000 Maui weddings since 2011.
An elopement still needs some planning to go smoothly, and starting early gives you the most options. Learning how to elope in Maui really starts with two questions: why Maui fits the kind of day you want, and when to come.
Couples elope on Maui to have an intimate, personal ceremony without the cost and stress of a large wedding. A planned Maui elopement package brings the officiant, location, permits, photography, and timeline together in one place, which removes most of the guesswork.
Maui has a tropical climate, so it is warm year-round. The season affects the crowds and the light more than the temperature.
| Season | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| April to October | Warmest, sunniest, and least rain. Best conditions for a beach ceremony, and the busiest travel window. |
| November to March | Slightly cooler with a higher chance of brief showers. Often quieter, and whale season along parts of the island. |
Peak tourist times fall around the winter holidays and spring break. If you want fewer crowds and better rates on flights and lodging, the shoulder seasons of late April to early June, or September to early November, are a good choice. Booking well in advance is smart in any season, especially for popular dates and ceremony times.
All-Inclusive Packages
Officiant, photography, the permit, florals, and coordination, bundled into one simple price.
Getting married in Hawaii is straightforward. You do not need to be a resident or a U.S. citizen, and there are no blood tests or waiting periods. The important thing to know is that this is not a last-minute task. You apply online first, then meet a licensed marriage license agent in person to receive the license. There is no walk-in office, and appointments can fill up, so handle this early, right after you book your flights and lodging.
Here is what the process involves:
Our full Hawaii marriage license guide walks through every step in detail.
Once issued, your license is valid for 30 days within the State of Hawaii. Bring the actual paper license to your ceremony. Your officiant needs it to legally solemnize your marriage and files it afterward. Keep it somewhere safe until then.
Each partner needs a valid photo ID: a driver’s license, state-issued ID, military ID, or passport. The fee is $65 paid online or $70 in person, and it is non-refundable. It is a good idea to confirm the current fee and accepted payment methods when you book your appointment.
The best spot is the one that fits your guest count, privacy preferences, accessibility needs, ceremony time, and the style of photos you want. Maui gives you real range for an elopement, from sunny south-shore sand to established Maui wedding venues, so you can match the setting to the day you have in mind.

Beaches are what most couples picture first for a Maui elopement. Below are a few of the beach locations we use for elopement ceremonies:
These are just a few of the beaches we use. We will recommend one based on the feeling you want, the time of day, and your guest count. You can view all our Maui beach wedding locations to see more.
If a public beach is not your style, or you want a venue with more space, shade, and amenities, Maui has beautiful wedding venues too. A few of our most popular:
You can absolutely elope at a full venue, not just a beach. Look through all our Maui wedding venues to find the setting that fits your day.
Plan Your Budget
Pick a package and add-ons and see an estimated total in seconds.
Step 1 · Ceremony type
Step 2 · Choose your package
Step 3 · Add-ons and upgrades
Every Maui beach ceremony requires a permit, and the rules are firm: chairs and arches are not allowed on the beach, and the state caps the total headcount at 30 people, including your vendor team. To stay comfortably under that limit, we keep the guest count to 25, the two of you plus your guests, which leaves room for your photographer, officiant, and coordinator. A licensed planner like Simple Maui Wedding secures the permit for you, works only from the state’s list of approved beaches, and keeps your day fully above-board so nothing gets interrupted.
Your ceremony is the heart of your Maui wedding day, where you make your promises and become partners for life. Eloping keeps it small, but small does not mean less meaningful. The intimacy lets you build a ceremony that is tailored to you.
Your officiant guides the ceremony and sets its tone. On Maui, you have a few options:
It helps to connect with your officiant beforehand so their style matches your vision. Our team has long relationships with island officiants, so you can choose a Maui officiant who feels like the right fit.
Weaving in Hawaiian traditions can make your elopement more meaningful. Each one carries real significance:
When you include these traditions, intention and respect matter most. A knowledgeable local officiant makes the process feel natural and sincere.
With just the two of you, or a few close people, you can make your vows as personal as you like. Think about:
You do not need to write a novel. Even a few heartfelt sentences work well. What matters is that the words are yours.

Your Maui elopement is a once-in-a-lifetime day, and the photographs are what you will look back on for years. That makes your Maui elopement photographer one of the most important choices you will make. A photographer who shoots on Maui knows how to work with the island’s light and wind, find the best angles, and catch the in-between moments that tell the story of your day. Every Simple Maui Wedding elopement includes photography by Karma Hill Photography, a top Maui elopement photographer with more than 3,700 weddings captured across Hawaii since 2007.
Photos are timeless, but a wedding content creator captures the day from another angle: candid, behind-the-scenes video shot the way a close friend with professional skills would. Over up to two hours, they grab up to 200 photos and videos on their phone, then turn around a short, edited highlight made for social sharing on TikTok or Instagram Reels. You keep all of the photos and videos, plus the finished edit. We book this add-on directly for you, so you can share your Maui elopement within days, not months.
The ceremony is the center of the day, but the details around it are what make an elopement feel like yours. A few thoughtful add-ons can turn it into a day you will remember: the flowers you carry, music in the background, bridal hair and makeup, or a Just Maui’d sign for your first photos as newlyweds. These are the extras couples ask about most, in addition to extra photography time.

Flowers add color and fragrance to your day. Whether you picture a classic bridal bouquet, a simple lei, or a full flower circle on the sand, our florals are designed and created by Dellables using local blooms. Most elopement packages include bouquet and lei options, and you can customize further. Browse our beach wedding bouquets to see the styles Dellables creates.
Exchanging vows to the gentle strum of a ukulele or the notes of a Hawaiian guitarist adds a nice ambiance without overpowering the moment. A solo island musician can be added to your ceremony, a lovely way to honor the spirit of aloha.
Your elopement is the whole experience, not just the ceremony. After you say I do, many couples celebrate with a traditional luau, a private sunset sail, or a quiet dinner somewhere special. Others spend the surrounding days visiting waterfalls, snorkeling, or relaxing on the beach. You are not on your own here either: our team is happy to recommend restaurants, luaus, and the best things to do around the island, so the rest of your trip is as easy to plan as the ceremony.
Real Maui Elopements
Browse beaches, venues, and real island ceremonies to picture your own day.
Where you stay and how you get around is a real part of any Maui elopement. A home base that fits the feel of your trip makes your day easier.
If you want a little pampering, a resort is a good choice. Many of Maui’s resorts offer ocean views, strong amenities, and a relaxing spot to unwind after the ceremony. Places like the Wailea Beach Resort and the Four Seasons Maui are known for excellent service and beautiful settings. If you have guests joining you, we can arrange Maui room blocks, usually for around 10 rooms. Reach out even for a smaller group, since we can sometimes secure extra amenities at the resort.
For something more personal, a vacation rental or condo can be a great fit. You will find everything from beachfront condos to quiet cottages, often with more privacy and a local feel.
Maui is popular, which means the best dates and vendors go quickly, especially in peak season. Once your date and location are set, lock in the key pieces early. Booking ahead means you get exactly what you want and takes a lot of stress off the weeks before your wedding. The same goes for flights and lodging: the earlier they align with your ceremony plans, the smoother everything is.
Here is a quick look at some popular areas and what they offer:
| Area | Accommodation Style | Vibe |
|---|---|---|
| Wailea | Luxury resorts, condos | Upscale, beautiful beaches, fine dining |
| Kāʻanapali | Resorts, hotels, condos | Lively, lots to do, ocean views |
| Kihei | Condos, rentals | Relaxed, central, good value and beaches |
| Kapalua | Luxury resorts, hotels, rentals | Upscale and quieter West Maui |
That is really all there is to how to elope in Maui: your season, your marriage license, your location, and a team to carry the rest. You do not need to become an expert on beaches, permits, or vendors. That is our job. Simple Maui Wedding has planned more than 2,000 Maui weddings since 2011, and our goal is to make the whole thing feel easy, organized, and personal. Explore our Maui elopement packages to get started, or read more about eloping in Maui.
The simplest way is to work with a local wedding planner. They know the best spots, handle the permits, and connect you with a licensed officiant, photographer, and florals. It takes the stress out of planning a wedding from far away.
Not at all. Eloping means it is just the two of you, or a few very close family or friends. The focus is on your commitment to each other, not on hosting a big party.
The weather is good year-round. April through October is warmer and drier. November through March is slightly cooler with occasional showers and whale season. To avoid the biggest crowds, skip the winter holidays and spring break.
Apply online first, then meet a licensed agent in person once you are on Maui to receive the license. Bring a photo ID for each of you. The fee is $65 online or $70 in person, and the license is valid for 30 days. No blood tests are required.
Not quite. All Maui beach ceremonies require a permit, and not every beach can be permitted. We work only within the state’s list of approved beach locations and handle the permit for you. The state also caps the total headcount at 30 people including your vendors, so we keep guest counts to 25.
Cost depends on your location, guest count, and the add-ons you choose, such as videography, extra florals, or live music. Most couples start with a package that bundles the officiant, permit, location, and photography, then customize from there. Reach out for current Maui elopement package pricing.
Wear whatever makes you feel great. Many brides choose a tropical beach wedding dress in a light, flowy fabric, and grooms often go with linen or other beach wedding attire for men. Some couples wear traditional Aloha wear. Comfort and personal style are what matter most.

A Maui vow renewal was the perfect way for Melanie and Paul to celebrate twenty-five years of marriage, surrounded by their three children and the peaceful beauty of Maluaka Beach. Their story began during their first year of college. Five years later, Paul proposed at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. Since then, they have built a beautifully full life together as physicians, parents, travelers, and enthusiastic scuba-diving partners.

For their anniversary, Melanie and Paul wanted to focus on what has always mattered most to them: experiences, family, and time together. So, there were no elaborate decorations or formal traditions. Instead, their children stood beside them in soft shades of pink and white as they exchanged vows near the ocean. There were sweet glances, joyful hugs, and plenty of laughter. Most importantly, every moment felt wonderfully genuine and completely true to their relaxed personalities.

As the ceremony came to a close, Melanie and Paul sealed their renewed promises with joyful smiles while their children gathered around them. The family shared laughter and a few quiet moments together beside the ocean. It was a simple yet meaningful ending, perfectly reflecting the life they have built and the love that continues to hold them all together.

After the ceremony, Melanie and Paul wandered along the shoreline for a few romantic portraits. The cloudy Maui sky created soft, dreamy light as they danced, embraced, and walked hand in hand beside the waves. Then, just as their session was ending, a brilliant sunray broke through the clouds and stretched toward the beach. It felt like Maui’s own anniversary gift, celebrating a love that has grown stronger through twenty-five years of adventures, busy schedules, and choosing one another again and again.

Congratulations, Melanie and Paul, on twenty-five incredible years of marriage. We wish you many more years of laughter, meaningful adventures, and beautiful memories together!

A venue wedding on Maui is already unforgettable, but Kate and Cameron made it even sweeter with their incredible love story. Some romances simply prove that the best things in life are worth waiting for.

They first met in high school driver’s ed, where they caught each other’s eyes. Years later, Cameron proposed during a romantic trip through Geneva, Switzerland. Their wedding at Gather on Maui felt like the perfect next chapter.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows on a grassy knoll overlooking the ocean. The golden afternoon light made every smile, embrace, and happy tear shine even brighter. It felt like the entire island was celebrating right alongside them.

After the ceremony, they wandered down to the beach for couples portraits. They looked completely at ease, laughing together and soaking in every second.

As if the island wanted to celebrate too, a beautiful rainbow appeared across the sky. It was the perfect ending to an already magical day. Every heartfelt moment made this Maui venue wedding one they will never forget.

Wishing Kate and Cameron a lifetime filled with adventure, laughter, and love.

A Maui beach wedding was the sweetest next chapter for Kayleigh and Joe, whose love story began with a TikTok livestream, a mutual friend, and one very cheesy pickup line. Joe happened to discover Kayleigh’s live before heading to church basketball with his brother, and somehow his bold introduction worked. Two years later, he proposed at Disneyland on July 9, 2024. They chose that same meaningful date for their wedding, forever connecting two of their happiest milestones.

Because the beach has always been Kayleigh’s favorite place, a tropical celebration felt completely right. She had fallen in love with Hawaii, but neither of them had visited Maui. Baldwin Beach Park gave them the chance to begin married life somewhere beautifully new. Surrounded by vibrant flowers, bright pink and orange dresses, and the people they love most, Kayleigh and Joe exchanged vows beside the sparkling ocean.

Then, as though Maui had planned its own dramatic entrance, a brilliant ray of sunlight broke through the clouds and shone directly over them. It illuminated the ceremony in the most breathtaking way, turning an already emotional moment into something almost cinematic. From a playful TikTok pickup line to a glowing Maui shoreline, Kayleigh and Joe’s story proves that sometimes the most unexpected beginnings lead exactly where they belong.

After the ceremony, Kayleigh and Joe wandered along the shoreline for their newlywed portraits. They laughed, held each other close, and soaked in those first quiet moments as husband and wife. Between the colorful floral circle, soft ocean breeze, and dramatic Maui sky, every image felt joyful, romantic, and completely true to them.

Congratulations, Kayleigh and Joe! May your marriage be filled with the same joy, warmth, and unexpected magic that brought you together. We are so honored to have captured this beautiful beginning and wish you a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and love.

Planning a vow renewal in Maui is a wonderful way to honor your commitment. Here are the main things to keep in mind to make your special day perfect:
Renewing your vows in Maui is a fantastic way to celebrate your enduring love. It’s not about starting over, but about honoring the journey you’ve shared. Think of it as a beautiful punctuation mark on your marriage, a moment to pause and appreciate all the years, the laughter, and the challenges you’ve navigated together. Maui provides the perfect backdrop for this significant occasion, offering stunning scenery and a relaxed atmosphere that lets you focus on each other.

When you start looking into Simple Maui Wedding’s vow renewal packages, you’ll find a range of options built around nearly two decades of coordinating ceremonies across the island. Some are quite simple, focusing on the ceremony itself with a trusted officiant and a photographer. Others are more elaborate, including florals, music, and even coordination for a reception afterward. It’s helpful to consider what feels right for you as a couple. Do you envision an intimate ceremony just for the two of you, or do you want to include family and friends? As your local vow renewal specialists, we offer customizable packages, so you can mix and match elements to create your ideal experience. The key is to find a package that aligns with your vision and budget.
Here’s a quick look at what’s included in a Simple Maui Wedding vow renewal package:
Maui offers an incredible variety of settings for your vow renewal, and it’s exactly why couples trust Simple Maui Wedding to help them choose. From the soft sands of our favorite beach wedding locations to lush gardens and elegant oceanfront wedding venues, the choices are plentiful. Think about the vibe you want for your ceremony. A beach setting offers a naturally romantic and casual feel, perfect for a sunset renewal. If you prefer something more structured or have a larger group, a resort lawn or a private estate might be a better fit. It’s worth exploring different areas of the island to see what calls to you. Some popular spots include Wailea, Ka’anapali, and Kapalua, each offering unique beauty. Remember to check if any permits are needed for your chosen location, especially for public beaches, this is one of the many details our team takes care of on your behalf.
While planning a vow renewal in Maui should feel joyful, a little organization goes a long way. Here’s a basic to-do list to get you started:
“Planning a vow renewal doesn’t have to be stressful. Many services are available to handle the logistics, allowing you to simply enjoy the experience and focus on reaffirming your commitment to each other. Embrace the ease that comes with letting professionals guide you through the process.” that’s fine
Your vow renewal is a chance to really make the ceremony yours. It’s not just about saying the words again; it’s about reflecting the journey you’ve taken together. Think about what makes your relationship unique and how you can weave that into the ceremony. This is your moment to celebrate the love you’ve built over the years.
This is where you get to speak from the heart. Forget generic phrases; your vows should be a genuine reflection of your feelings. What have you learned from each other? What promises do you want to make for the future? Even if you’re not sure where to start, taking the time to think about it can bring up so many things you want to say. Many couples find that after years together, they have more to express than they initially thought.
Adding a touch of local culture can make your ceremony feel even more special and connected to Maui. It’s a beautiful way to honor the spirit of the islands. Some popular traditions include:
These traditions add a layer of meaning and beauty that you won’t find anywhere else. You can find more information on symbolic Hawaiian traditions to see what might fit your ceremony best.
While a vow renewal is often an intimate affair, including your nearest and dearest can make it even more meaningful. Whether it’s your children, grandchildren, or close friends, their presence can add a special warmth to the occasion. You might consider:

The goal is to make the ceremony feel like a true celebration of your enduring love and the life you’ve built together, surrounded by the people who matter most.
Many packages can be customized to include these personal touches, making your Maui vow renewal a unique reflection of your relationship. As the trusted local source for vow renewals on the island, Simple Maui Wedding offers hands-on support in personalizing your ceremony from start to finish.
One of the most exciting things about renewing your vows in Maui is choosing the spot that feels just right for you. Maui has no shortage of beautiful locations—each one with its own vibe, level of privacy, and ease of planning. The setting you choose shapes the entire feel of your ceremony and the memories you’ll make together.
When most people picture a Maui vow renewal, they’re probably picturing a stretch of sand, ocean waves, and a golden sunset. And honestly, you can’t go wrong with a beach ceremony — these are among the beaches we work at most often:
“All beaches require a little pre-planning—permits for ceremonies are a must, and sunset times book up quickly, especially during peak season.“
If you want something a bit more structured (or you have a bigger guest list), consider one of the wedding venues in our own portfolio. These spots can offer indoor backup plans, catering, and on-site coordination, so you worry less about the wind and more about the words you’re going to say. Here are a few of our favorites:
As your local vow renewal specialists, our experienced team can help you lock down every last detail at any of these venues.
Venue | Guest Capacity | Style | Notable Views |
Gather Maui | 20–100 | Modern | Ocean + Sunset |
Merriman’s Kapalua | 10–150 | West Maui | Ocean Views |
Wailea Beach Resort | 15–200+ | Luxury | Oceanfront Lawn |
Rustic Hawaiian Ruins | 2–40 | Historic | Garden + Ruins |
For couples craving privacy, there are lesser-known corners of Maui where you’ll feel like you have the whole island to yourselves. These spots do take a little more planning, but the payoff is real:
A checklist for picking your location:
You really can’t make a wrong choice on Maui, but your spot should feel like your story. Don’t feel pressured to go with the most famous beach, sometimes the best memories come from finding your own off-the-map moment.
If you’re still unsure, browsing our real Simple Maui Wedding ceremonies on our blog to help you imagine the ceremony that’s right for you.
Your vow renewal is a significant moment, a beautiful chapter in your ongoing love story. You’ve put thought into the ceremony, the location, and the personal touches. Now, let’s talk about making sure those memories last a lifetime. Hiring the right photographer is key to preserving the magic of your Maui vow renewal. They’re not just taking pictures; they’re capturing the emotion, the connection, and the breathtaking scenery that makes your day so special.
Every Simple Maui Wedding vow renewal package includes photography from Karma Hill Photography, our premier photography partner and the team behind thousands of Maui wedding and vow renewal galleries. Their photographers, including Samantha, Angelica, and Tenessa, know Maui’s unique lighting conditions inside and out, especially during sunset, and offer a mix of candid, photojournalistic moments and posed, romantic portraits. Because photography is already built into our vow renewal packages, you don’t have to spend time researching or vetting photographers on your own — we’ve already done that work for you.
Maui sunsets are legendary for a reason. The way the sky explodes with color: oranges, pinks, purples, creates a naturally romantic backdrop. Many couples opt for sunset portraits after their ceremony. This is your chance to have some intimate moments captured with that incredible Hawaiian light. Think about walking hand-in-hand on the beach, sharing a quiet embrace, or simply gazing at each other as the sun dips below the horizon. These moments, bathed in golden light, often result in some of the most stunning and cherished photos from your day. It’s a time to just be with each other, and let the photographer work their magic.
If you’re including family in your vow renewal, capturing those interactions is just as important as the couple’s portraits. Think about candid shots of your children watching you exchange vows, or group photos with your loved ones against the beautiful Maui landscape. These images tell the story of not just your renewed commitment, but also the family you’ve built together. A good photographer will be attentive to these moments, ensuring that everyone who is special to you is beautifully documented. It’s about celebrating your love, and the people who share in your joy.
Here’s a quick checklist to consider when discussing family photos with your photographer:
Remember, your photographer is your visual storyteller for the day. They’ll be there to capture the big moments and the small, fleeting glances that make your vow renewal uniquely yours. Trusting them to document your day will allow you to be fully present and enjoy every second.

Your vow renewal ceremony is the heart of your Maui celebration, but it doesn’t have to be the only part! Think of it as the perfect excuse to turn your special occasion into an unforgettable anniversary trip. Maui offers so much more than just beautiful beaches. You could spend your mornings exploring the lush landscapes, perhaps a scenic drive along the Road to Hana, or even a whale watching tour if you’re visiting during the season. After your ceremony, consider a relaxed afternoon snorkeling or simply lounging by the ocean. The island is your playground for creating new memories together.
No trip to Maui is complete without indulging in the local flavors. After you’ve exchanged your vows, treat yourselves to a fantastic meal. From casual beachfront cafes serving fresh poke bowls to upscale restaurants offering gourmet island-inspired dishes, there’s something for every palate. Many places offer stunning ocean views, making your dining experience even more special. Don’t forget to try some traditional Hawaiian favorites like kalua pig or laulau. For a truly authentic experience, consider booking a table at a renowned spot like Mama’s Fish House for a memorable evening.
Once the ceremony is done and the photos are taken, the celebration can continue! Many couples opt for a romantic dinner for two at one of Maui’s many exquisite restaurants. If you’re celebrating with family, a private chef experience at your villa or a lively luau can be fantastic options. Some couples even arrange for a private sunset cruise, complete with champagne and appetizers, to toast their renewed commitment. Whatever you choose, make sure it feels like a true celebration of your enduring love and the beautiful life you’ve built together. It’s all about extending that feeling of joy and connection throughout your stay on the island. You might also want to look into customizable vow renewal packages that can include these celebratory elements.
Renewing your vows in Maui is more than just a ceremony; it’s a chance to celebrate your enduring love story amidst paradise. From picking the perfect spot on the beach to writing heartfelt words and capturing those unforgettable moments with Karma Hill Photography, every detail comes together to create a memory that will last a lifetime. So go ahead, plan that second “I do,” and let Simple Maui Wedding help the magic of Maui rekindle your romance.
A vow renewal is like a special ceremony where you and your partner say “I love you” and “I still do” all over again. It’s a way to celebrate how far your marriage has come and recommit to each other. It’s not a legal thing, so no marriage license is needed, which makes it super easy!
Nope, you don’t need a marriage license for a vow renewal. Since it’s a symbolic ceremony to celebrate your existing marriage, there’s no legal paperwork involved. It’s a nice break from all the official stuff!
Maui has so many amazing spots! You can go for a beautiful beach with the ocean waves as your backdrop, a nice spot at a resort venue, or even a pretty garden or a special viewpoint. The best place really depends on what kind of vibe you’re going for and if you want privacy — our team can help you match the setting to your vision.
Absolutely! It’s super common and really sweet to include children and grandchildren. They can be part of the ceremony by doing readings, giving blessings, handing out flowers, or even saying their own vows to support your marriage. It makes the day even more special for everyone!
Sometimes, yes. Many public beaches require permits for ceremonies. The good news is that if you’re working with a planner or a wedding service, they can usually help you figure out if a permit is needed and take care of that for you. It’s one less thing to worry about!
Most vow renewal ceremonies are pretty short and sweet, usually around 10 to 30 minutes. This can change a bit depending on if you have personal vows, readings, family members involved, or any special traditions. It’s always a good idea to plan for extra time for photos afterward, though!

A Maui beach wedding feels a little like the universe showing off. For Carmen and Mando, there could not have been a more meaningful place to begin married life. They first met online years ago and somehow never lost touch. Sometimes love takes the scenic route before arriving exactly where it belongs.

After Mando proposed at Duke’s Beach in Maui during one of their annual trips, returning to Hawaii to exchange vows felt less like a coincidence and more like destiny gently tying everything together.

DT Fleming Beach Park welcomed them with swaying palms, dramatic cliffs, and waves that seemed determined to applaud every heartfelt moment. Carmen looked effortlessly radiant, while Mando could not stop smiling as he watched his bride walk toward him. Their laughter came easily, their quiet moments felt effortless, and every portrait reflected the kind of love that grows stronger through shared adventures. You can almost picture them planning their next vacation together before the ceremony was even over.

Then came the moment they had been waiting for. Once they were officially pronounced husband and wife, the joy on their faces said it all. They shared a sweet kiss, held each other close, and soaked in the realization that they had just begun their next chapter together. It was one of those beautifully simple moments that somehow said everything without a single word.

It also felt perfectly fitting that two people who love traveling would begin this chapter in the place that already held so many treasured memories. Their Maui beach wedding was more than a celebration. It was another unforgettable page in a story that keeps bringing them back to the island they love most.

Carmen and Mando, thank you for letting us capture such a joyful day. Congratulations, and may every trip you take together feel just as magical as this one.

A wedding in Maui was the perfect way for Lexi and Maddie to celebrate the start of their forever together, creating memories filled with sunshine, laughter, and the kind of love that feels completely effortless.

Traveling from Illinois, these two exchanged vows on the golden shores of Po’olenalena Beach with the ocean stretching behind them. Their elegant white gowns complemented each other beautifully. Lexi wore a delicate flower crown, while Maddie added flowers to her hair after the ceremony. Together, their looks felt timeless, romantic, and uniquely theirs. Throughout the day, every smile, glance, and hand squeeze reflected the excitement of beginning a new chapter together in paradise.

After saying “I do,” the celebration continued with thoughtful details that made the day even more meaningful. First, Lexi and Maddie shared a sparkling cider toast. Then, they cut a sweet little cake topped with a figurine of their beloved dog, Wrigley. It was the perfect reminder that their cherished family member was part of the celebration in spirit.

Next, a joyful petal toss filled the air with laughter, while their adorable “Just Maui’d” sign added a playful touch. As the sun dipped lower, golden light wrapped around the beach and created warm, effortless portraits. Every image reflected the happiness they shared together.

A destination wedding in Maui was the perfect setting for Freedom and Joseph to begin their next chapter together.

Traveling from Oregon to the golden shores of Polo Beach, these two embraced the island’s relaxed beauty with a celebration that felt both intimate and effortlessly elegant. Freedom looked stunning in her chic short wedding dress, while her long red hair caught the sunlight and ocean breeze in the most magical way. Beside her, Joseph’s classic white button-down and khaki pants perfectly complemented the laid-back Maui atmosphere.

With family gathered along the shoreline, the couple exchanged vows against a backdrop of sparkling blue water and soft ocean waves. Every moment felt filled with warmth, from their joyful smiles during the ceremony to the quiet glances they shared afterward. As the evening unfolded, they wandered between tropical greenery, rugged lava rock formations, and the sandy shoreline, creating portraits that felt straight out of a romance novel. The golden light highlighted every sweet moment, while the vibrant scenery of Maui made each image even more unforgettable.

From heartfelt vows on the beach to sunset portraits by the water, Freedom and Joseph’s celebration was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the simplest moments become the most meaningful memories.

Thank you, Freedom and Joseph, for allowing us to capture your destination wedding in Maui! Mahalo for letting us share in such a wonderful day!

A Maui venue wedding was the perfect way for Katie and Andrew to celebrate a love story that began nearly ten years ago in a high school English class. After years of growing together and sharing adventures, they returned to a place filled with special memories.

Their sunrise proposal on the beach after the Honolulu Marathon made Hawaii even more meaningful. Gather on Maui provided a beautiful setting for their heartfelt ceremony. Vibrant tropical florals, sweeping island views, and the spirit of aloha surrounded every moment.

Watching Katie and Andrew exchange vows felt like witnessing two best friends step into their next chapter together. Their joyful smiles and tender glances made every photograph meaningful. Surrounded by family and friends, they stood beneath a colorful floral arbor and promised forever to one another. Meanwhile, Katie’s veil danced in the breeze, adding a touch of romance to the celebration. Every moment felt genuine and full of joy.

After the ceremony, we explored the lush grounds surrounding the venue. The rolling fields and tropical landscape created a stunning backdrop for portraits. In addition, the vibrant greenery perfectly complemented the colorful island florals and Katie’s flowing gown. Some of our favorite images came from these quiet moments together. As Andrew pulled Katie close, they soaked in the excitement of finally being husband and wife.

Later, the newlyweds made their way to the beach for sunset portraits. Golden light reflected across the shoreline while the ocean stretched endlessly behind them. From playful laughter in the sand to intimate embraces by the water, every image reflected their connection. By the end of the evening, it was clear that Katie and Andrew had created a day filled with beauty, joy, and lasting memories. Their Maui wedding celebrated not only where their story began, but also the exciting future ahead.

Congratulations to these two, and thank you for letting Karma Hill Photography capture your unforgettable Maui celebration!

A Maui venue wedding felt like the perfect next chapter for Kamala-Lee and Matthew, whose love story began long before Instagram was even a thing. These Maui residents first connected on Myspace as teenagers and dated briefly. Although life took them in different directions, they eventually found their way back to each other years later.

After reconnecting in 2012, they built a beautiful life together. Along the way, they raised four wonderful children and spent countless weekends cheering from the sidelines at sports games. Then, during a birthday trip to Oahu, Matthew planned the perfect surprise. He proposed with a sparkling ring and cupcakes from Liliha Bakery. From that moment on, it was clear their story had come full circle.

Their wedding at Rustic Hawaiian Ruins was filled with heartfelt moments and surrounded by Maui’s lush beauty. Beneath swaying palms and vibrant tropical greenery, they exchanged vows in front of family and friends. Meanwhile, every smile, glance, and happy tear reflected the love and commitment they have shared over the years. Their children stood proudly nearby, making the ceremony even more meaningful.

Afterward, the newlyweds wandered through the garden pathways together. They shared quiet moments beneath the trees as soft island light filtered through the leaves. Kamala-Lee looked radiant in her flowing gown, while Matthew could not stop smiling beside her. From the beautiful florals to the romantic portraits, every detail celebrated the life they have built together.

Congratulations, Kamala-Lee and Matthew! We wish your family a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and many unforgettable adventures together.

A Maui destination wedding has a way of making everything feel cinematic, but Aarya and Jun hardly needed any help in that department.

These two traveled from Virginia to say “I do” at Lanai Point at Wailea Beach Resort. There, the Pacific stretched endlessly behind them while their closest loved ones gathered to celebrate. As the ceremony began, they stood beneath a white floral arbor overlooking the ocean. They exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by beauty at every turn. As a result, the atmosphere felt intimate, elegant, and timeless.

Their journey together led them to this breathtaking corner of Maui. Throughout the ceremony, Aarya and Jun shared joyful smiles and tender glances. More importantly, they displayed the kind of quiet connection that says everything without words. Every moment felt filled with warmth and genuine affection.

Later, the sky transformed into brilliant shades of orange and purple. Meanwhile, the evening light created a spectacular backdrop for portraits along the shoreline. With the ocean breeze, a glowing sunset, and their favorite people by their side, the day perfectly reflected what mattered most. In the end, it was a celebration filled with love, beauty, and unforgettable memories.

We are so honored to have captured these beautiful memories and wish Aarya and Jun a lifetime of love, adventure, and unforgettable sunsets together.
