Some love stories feel sun-soaked from the very beginning! And Chris and Jessie’s Maui venue wedding is absolutely one of them. She loves tropical warmth, he loves the ocean and glowing sunsets, and together they chose Maui because, as they put it, nothing beats its beauty. And honestly? They were right.

They first met online through a Christian dating app. Just two hearts guided quietly toward each other in a way that felt intentional and steady. Chris later proposed on a boat at sunset in Lake Tahoe, a golden, cinematic moment that perfectly matched the romance of what was to come. Jessie, a NICU nurse with the softest kind of strength, and Chris, a detective with a calm, grounded presence, built a beautiful life together, one filled with workouts, family time, and their three incredible daughters, ages 10, 11, and 13.

Their Maui wedding at the Royal Lahaina Resort was everything they hoped for: rustic, peaceful, intimate, joyful, low-key, elegant, and touched with bohemian magic. A gorgeous tropical arch stood tall against the ocean backdrop as they said I do, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The light that day was unreal! It was soft, golden, and glowing in that way only Maui can manage. It felt like the island itself showed up just for them! Keep reading to see more of their beautiful day!

Jessie looked radiant, effortless, and completely at peace. Chris couldn’t take his eyes off her. Their daughters beamed with pride as they watched their parents promise forever, and every laugh, every tear, every quiet hand squeeze felt soaked in meaning. Everyone was so happy for them, and the whole day was filled with love, light, and joy. It was the next page of the beautiful life they had already created together!

Time To Celebrate

After a few fun-filled group portraits, our photographer snuck the happy couple away for some portraits! Their newlywed portraits were pure magic! They were soft, romantic, and completely soaked in the golden light of Maui. With the ocean stretching endlessly behind them and the lanterns in the trees, Chris and Jessie slipped into that just-married glow so effortlessly. They laughed, held each other close, and moved through the evening with the kind of quiet joy that doesn’t need posing.

The sunset wrapped them in peach and gold, turning each moment into something timeless and cinematic. These portraits weren’t just beautiful, they felt like the beginning of everything! The way they look at each other says everything! These are totally swoonworthy!

We are excited to share a beautiful Maui venue wedding! You know, some love stories begin with grand gestures. Others begin on a snowy back road near Mt. Baker, with one stranded car, one kindhearted fisherman, and a moment that quietly changes everything. That’s where Riley and Garrett’s story first took shape. when they were just 19 and 20, both newly planted in Bellingham, Washington, both chasing new chapters, and entirely unaware that they’d just met their forever.

Nearly seven years later, after building a life shaped by tides and tenacity. Riley is now serving with the United States Postal Service, and Garrett is working year-round as a commercial fisherman. Garrett proposed a New Year’s trip to Hood River, Oregon. It was simple, meaningful, and perfectly them. Keep reading to see more!

They first dreamed of an intimate wedding along the Stikine River in Wrangell, Alaska, their rugged backyard. Then they flirted with the idea of eloping to Hawaii, just the two of them. But love, it turns out, has a way of gathering people. One by one, friends and family began to say they might “just happen” to be in Hawaii too. Suddenly, their quiet elopement transformed into an intimate celebration. The gorgeous Rustic Hawaiian Ruins venue felt like it had been waiting for them all along.

Set against ancient stone, tropical greenery, and golden Maui light, their wedding felt organic and soulful. It was a beautiful and meaningful celebration with their favorite people supporting them!

Maui Venue Wedding

Their portraits were breathtaking! The venue has so many beautiful moments for just the two of them. You could feel the love in every frame, steady and unshakable. The light couldn’t be more luminous for their first moments as husband and wife! And that sunset? A total dream!

Riley and Garrett’s day was layered with laughter, history, and that unmistakable sense of home found in another person. From Alaska to Maui, from snowstorms to sunlit vows, their story proves that sometimes the most extraordinary loves begin in the most ordinary moments.

Congratulations, Riley & Garrett! Your love is as real and beautiful as it gets.

Some love stories arrive slowly and that’s exactly how things unfolded for Karyna and Grigory. They met this spring at a concert in Vancouver, two people from opposite ends of the world, she from Kyiv, he from Novosibirsk, drawn together by timing, music, and something that felt instantly, quietly right. What followed was natural and fast and full of joy that you know this is your person. A Maui elopement was destined for them!

Life has carried them on winding paths. Karyna was a doctor in Ukraine before the war uprooted her life; now she works in aesthetic medicine in Vancouver. Grigory, a manager at Google in Seattle, has lived in the U.S. since 2012. He has two wonderful kids whom Karyna connects with beautifully, a detail she mentions with warmth that says everything. And then, one emotional evening by the ocean in Seattle, he proposed. The waves, the wind, the moment, it all felt a little like fate. And now we are happy to share a few moments from their big day! It truly was a dream come true for both of them!

Effortlessly Beautiful

Their Maui elopement was every shade of magical! Karyna stepped onto the beach in a full princess-style gown, layers of fabric catching the breeze like something straight from a fairytale. And Grigory looked effortlessly handsome in a blue linen suit. The ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, kissed by sunlight and framed by the rugged coastline that makes Ironwoods so breathtaking. When they said their vows, it felt like the entire island paused to listen.

Their newlywed portraits afterward on the dramatic cliffs were the perfect mix of elegance and playfulness, soft, romantic embraces, and then silly poses that had them laughing like teenagers. And when Karyna changed into her second dress? The whole vibe shifted into carefree, beachy celebration.

They were radiant. Happy. Completely in love! It was the perfect finish to their Maui elopement!

There are weddings that feel like they were lifted straight from a dream, glowing light, heartfelt vows, and a backdrop so breathtaking it practically hums with magic. And then there’s Debbie and Peter’s Maui venue wedding at the Grand Wailea Chapel, which somehow managed to be all that and something more: elegant, emotional, and completely, wonderfully them.

The moment we stepped inside the chapel, it felt like entering a sacred space. That iconic stained-glass window, bursting with rainbows, plumeria blooms, and island scenes, wrapped the whole ceremony in a soft, celestial glow. As Debbie and Peter stood at the altar, framed by the colors of Maui itself, the scene looked almost too beautiful to be real. Their bridesmaids stood by their side in flowing ombré gowns, creating a vibrant, joyful palette of pinks and oranges that echoed the island’s own sunset tones. The aisle lined with rose petals, the warm wood pews, and the symmetry of the chapel all built a serene, romantic cocoon around them…Keep reading to see more of their beautiful day!

Debbie and Peter’s Maui venue ceremony inside the Grand Wailea Chapel felt intimate, luminous, and overflowing with emotion. Bathed in the glow of the iconic stained-glass window behind them, they exchanged vows surrounded by vibrant florals, warm wood tones, and the soft hush of a space built for moments exactly like this. The tender way they looked at each other made the ceremony feel both timeless and deeply personal, a perfect reflection of their love in one of Maui’s most magical venues!

Our First Moments

And then came the joy, the radiant, throw-your-hands-in-the-air kind. The family photos outside the chapel were filled with so much laughter and celebration. Debbie, stunning in her feathered mini dress, and Peter, classic and handsome in his tux, looked like they stepped straight off the cover of a modern romance. Their energy was contagious, playful, elegant, and deeply in love.

After the ceremony, we wandered the Grand Wailea grounds, letting Maui’s golden light follow us. The palm trees, the fountains, the sweeping staircase, each spot became a backdrop for moments that felt impossibly cinematic. And when they reached the beach, leaning into each other as waves rolled in, the entire day came full circle. Timeless. Classic. Elegant!

Some love stories are like ocean tides; they take their time, pull you in gently, and before you know it, you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. For Vanessa and Cody, that place was the golden shores of Wailea Beach Resort, where they shared an intimate and joy-filled Maui venue wedding that felt like a dream come true.

Their story began years ago in high school, a friendship that quietly waited for its perfect timing. In their late twenties, Cody, with his steady persistence and warm smile, finally convinced Vanessa to say yes to that first date. And the rest, as they say, was meant to be. Keep reading to see more of their beautiful day!

Back home in Auburn, Alabama, life is full and busy. Cody works as a lineman, while Vanessa runs her horseback-riding lesson and boarding facility. Between five dogs, long workdays, and a few golf rounds, they rarely find time to pause. So when Vanessa suggested a Maui destination wedding, it was the perfect escape: relaxed, effortless, and full of love.

Their ceremony unfolded with the ocean sparkling just beyond, a soft breeze weaving through palm leaves as the Hawaiian sun painted everything gold. Vanessa looked radiant in her flowing gown, part ethereal, part beach goddess, while Cody’s light-blue jacket and open smile mirrored the island sky. Together, they were pure joy, the kind that makes you believe in destiny!

As the sun slipped behind the horizon, they wandered barefoot along the lush property, lava rocks, and glowing shoreline. It was as romantic as ever! The green lawn and the sweeping ocean views made their portraits feel that much more cinematic. And the wind on top of it all added to the feeling of carefree joy and newlywed bliss! Their portraits captured everything Maui embodies: freedom, warmth, and the magic of new beginnings.

Some love stories don’t need grand gestures, just two hearts, a stunning view, and the sound of waves to seal the promise. For Alan and Elaina, their Maui elopement at Po‘olenalena Beach was just that: intimate, effortless, and glowing with Hawaii’s golden light.

Their story began in the digital age, a Hinge match that turned into sushi train dates and endless laughter. Elaina, in commercial real estate, and Alan, in sales, quickly found they shared a love for travel, books, and quiet moments together, usually with their golden doodle, Ollie, close by.

Earlier this year, Alan proposed during a beach trip to California. It was the perfect preview of the seaside vows they’d soon share in Maui. The island felt like a dream, peaceful, romantic, and free from distractions. It was exactly how they wanted to celebrate their love.

As the sun dipped low over Po‘olenalena Beach, everything turned honey-gold. The ocean shimmered like liquid light, and the sky blushed in soft pastels. A gentle breeze carried laughter and whispered promises. Their ceremony was simple and sincere—two souls choosing forever with only the sea and sky as their witnesses.

From our photographer’s lens, it was perfection: soft light, sandy toes, and the unmistakable serenity of two people completely at ease. Here’s the thing about Maui: it has this ridiculous ability to make you believe that time has slowed down in a Maui venue wedding. Some love stories sparkle with serendipity, and Frank and Elena’s Maui elopement was one of those stories that felt written in stardust. Born on the same day as Frank’s parents, and with Hawaii already woven into their family history (it was his parents’ honeymoon destination!), it only made sense that their own “I do” would happen surrounded by golden light, ocean waves, and the spirit of aloha.

But before their Ironwoods Beach ceremony came a proposal story that deserves its own rom-com. Picture this: a cozy Italian restaurant, a violinist playing the Jurassic Park theme (yes, really), and Frank trying not to laugh as he delivered his heartfelt proposal speech. To top it off, the host accidentally took his jacket, the one with the ring in it, so he had to pull off an elaborate, stealthy dance move to retrieve it without spoiling the surprise. Somehow, it all worked perfectly. Elena said yes, and the rest was pure magic! And now their amazing day has finally arrived!

Personal & Romantic

Their Maui elopement mirrored everything that makes them them: fun, romantic, and delightfully genuine. Elena looked ethereal in her gown, her smile radiant against the dramatic cliffs of Ironwoods. Frank couldn’t stop grinning, clearly still amazed that the woman who shared his mother’s birthday also shared his heart. The soft wind, the waves, and the warm glow of sunset wrapped around them like a blessing.

Every moment felt intimate and personal, a love story years in the making, now written into the sands of Maui. It was everything hoped for and more!

MAUI ELOPEMENT

After their ceremony, as the last rays of sunlight began to dip behind the cliffs, they shared their first moments with some cake as husband and wife, wrapped in the soft colors of the Maui sky. Their newlywed portraits captured everything that words can’t quite express: the joy, the quiet disbelief that this is real, and the kind of laughter that comes when two best friends realize forever just started.

Sunset Simplicity – Akasha & Enis’ Maui Elopement

Eloping in Maui is kind of like nature celebrating right along with you. Some love stories just belong by the ocean, and Jamie and Miles’ Maui elopement was one of them. Beneath the wide blue sky at Maluaka Beach, these two souls promised forever in the most effortless, heartfelt way imaginable. It was a day kissed by sunlight, wrapped in the sound of gentle waves, and filled with quiet joy that lingered long after the last photograph was taken.

Jamie looked absolutely radiant, her gown flowing like sea foam, her veil catching the breeze in soft, weightless ribbons. Miles, in his light gray suit, stood barefoot in the golden sand, his eyes lighting up the second she stepped onto the beach. There’s something about that moment, when the world narrows to just two people and a promise, that feels almost sacred…

Intimate & Quiet

Their ceremony was intimate and deeply moving, and we’ve seen a lot of weddings in our day! The officiant’s Hawaiian blessing drifted through the air, carried by the trade winds, as leis were exchanged and smiles beamed. The ocean stretched endlessly behind them, a witness to their love. It was simple, meaningful, and perfectly elegant. It was everything they hoped for! There is nothing truly more moving than seeing two people totally in love, saying “I do” by the ocean.

Afterward, Jamie and Miles wandered along the shoreline, the sun dipping lower and painting everything in honeyed light. They laughed, kissed, and stole glances that said everything words couldn’t. Even their “Just Maui’d” sign felt perfectly them, sweet, simple, and joyful.

Maluaka Beach has this rare magic, a sense that time slows down just enough for you to notice how lucky you are. And for Jamie and Miles, that’s exactly what this day was: a moment out of time, filled with beauty, love, and the soft promise of forever.

Wishing you both a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and countless sunsets just as stunning as the one you shared on your wedding day.

Here’s to forever in paradise, congratulations again, Mr. and Mrs. Trylovich!

Some love stories find their rhythm quietly, far from the spotlight. And Tyleia and Igor’s Maui elopement at Po‘olenalena Beach was exactly that kind of beautiful simplicity.

They’d already planned a Maui vacation, sunshine, ocean, and a little escape from everyday life, when the idea struck: why not make it official here? Simply Beautiful

For Tyleia, it was a return to the island she’d visited eight years ago, this time with Igor by her side. It was his first time in Hawaii, and what better introduction than a wedding day beneath the golden Maui sky? Joined by Igor’s mom and younger brother, their ceremony was sweet, personal, and full of joy, the kind of day that feels effortless and right.

Their story began years earlier while working summer jobs at Andaz Resorts in Scottsdale, Arizona, Tyleia as a night auditor and Igor as a valet. What started as a casual friendship quickly turned into a connection that felt like home. Fast forward six years: a proposal under desert skies in Joshua Tree, and now a dreamy Maui elopement to begin their next chapter…

The afternoon was golden, with the breeze soft and the waves gentle; everything about it felt serene and unhurried. Some love stories are written softly, in golden light and quiet moments. Mary and John’s Maui elopement at Po‘olenalena Beach was one of those stories, simple, heartfelt, and radiantly beautiful from start to finish.

After six years together and one year engaged, this Ohio couple decided to trade big plans for something more intimate: a sunset ceremony by the sea. For Mary, a nurse, and John, who works in IT from home, life is often busy and full. But on this day, everything slowed down. It was just them, the ocean breeze, and the sound of waves marking the rhythm of their vows.

Their Maui elopement captured the essence of what makes these moments so special: no stress, no crowd, just two people promising forever in a place that feels suspended in time. The light was soft and golden, wrapping around them as they exchanged rings and quiet laughter. Every photo glowed with warmth, the kind of warmth that feels like love made visible…

A Dream Come True

Neither had been to Hawaii before, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect beginning to their marriage, a honeymoon and wedding rolled into one. Po‘olenalena, with its peaceful shoreline and dreamy sunset views, offered the perfect balance of beauty and serenity.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, they exchanged their personal vows to the sound of the waves. It couldn’t have been more dreamy or perfect for this sweet couple!

Step‑by‑Step Guide to Getting Your Hawaii Marriage License

1. Check Eligibility and Gather Your Documents

If a previous marriage ended within the last 30 days, bring the certified divorce or death certificate. Applicants aged 16–17 need written parental consent.

See more information from the Hawaii Department of Health here.

2. Complete The Online Application

Go to Hawaii’s Electronic Marriage and Civil Union Registration System to fill out the application. You can do this up to a year before your wedding. Pay the $65 fee (via credit card) and save your Locator ID/Authorization Code for later.

Both partners must appear in person, bringing your IDs, Locator ID or paper application, and any required documentation. The agent will verify your information and issue your license immediately.

5. Hold Your Ceremony and File the License

Bring the physical license to your ceremony; your officiant must see it before the ceremony and will file it afterward on your behalf. Hawaii does not require witnesses, and ensure your officiant is licensed by the State of Hawaii.

6. Receive Your Certified Marriage Certificate

After your officiant files the paperwork, you can often see a temporary record online within a few days, and your certified marriage certificate will arrive by mail in about 4–6 weeks. For faster processing, you can request expedited copies if needed.

7. International Considerations

If one or both of you reside outside the U.S., check your country’s requirements; some require an apostille to recognize the certificate. Hawaii’s Department of Health can assist with obtaining this.

FAQ On Obtaining A Marriage License In Hawaii

“How long will the marriage license be valid for?”

The Hawaii marriage license expires 30 days from and including the date of issuance; after that, it automatically becomes null and void. The license is valid for any of the Hawaiian islands.

How long does a marriage appointment last, and where does it take place?

Call a marriage license agent before you arrive on the island to make an appointment. A marriage license appointment lasts about 30 minutes.

Here is the state of Hawaii marriage license agent list compiled for all the islands (Maui, Oahu, Lanai, Molokai, Kauai, Hawaii -Big Island). http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/ license-agents/

“Is the license valid for all the Hawaiian Islands or just the one where you obtained the license?”

Any agent within the state of Hawaii can authorize your form to wed on all islands.

If you’re planning on getting married on another island than the one where you got your marriage license, that’s fine. Please ensure you bring your approved form to your marriage ceremony.

If you live in a country outside the United States, you will need what is called an apostille, which is a document authenticating your marriage license in the United States, therefore making it legal in your home country.

When you make your appointment with the license agent, let them know that you will need an apostille and ask if you need to do anything ahead of time to make that happen.

You may also want to notify your officiant. Then, when you meet with the agent, they can give you the forms and instructions to request an apostille. Below is a link to a list of countries that accept an apostille for the authentication of marriage licenses, so they will be accepted as legal documents and therefore legal proof of marriage in their home country.

For more information, learn more about requiring an apostille.

“Do we need to bring the license to our wedding?”

Bring your Marriage License WITH YOU to your wedding! Your minister or officiant will complete it and file the license with the State of Hawaii.

“Is there a waiting period between meeting our agent and having our wedding ceremony?”

No, you can get married right after your license appointment. Some couples meet with the agent the same day as their wedding, but we suggest doing it at least the day before to have one less thing to worry about.

“Online, it says my license is valid for only 30 days – does that mean I need to wait 30 days before completing the online or paper form?”

The 30-day timeframe is how early you can meet with the agent before your wedding. You can complete the online form up to a year before that. You’ll just need to have your wedding within 30 days of meeting with the agent on the island.

“We will already be legally married — do we need to do anything in Hawaii for our marriage?”

No, if you’ve already had a legal ceremony back home or elsewhere, or are planning to make the marriage legal later, you can have a ceremonious wedding that would be just like if you were actually making it legal here. You also don’t need to bring anything to prove that you’re already legally married.

“What is the telephone number to call and get Hawaii marriage License information?”

+1 (808) 586-4545

Information on Hawaii marriage licenses may be obtained via the telephone system, any day or any time, by calling the number above.

“How do we receive our Hawaii marriage license?”

After your wedding, it takes about 3 weeks for the license to be processed, plus the time it takes for the certified copy to be mailed to you.

The state actually quotes a delivery of the marriage license of 60-120 days after the marriage has been performed. You can access it online sooner, but you will need the certified copy in order to make any legal name changes.

If you wish to receive your Hawaii marriage license sooner, ask the marriage license agent about paying for an expedited copy, which is currently a cost of $10.

Some love stories take their time to blossom. Sometimes they stretch across middle school hallways, college campuses, new cities, and long-distance calls that last late into the night. Kyle and Karissa’s journey has been just that kind of story! And their Maui venue wedding at Royal Lahaina Resort felt like the most beautiful chapter yet.

They first met in middle school, stayed close through high school, and later turned friendship into something more while living miles apart in college. After five years of long-distance, countless visits, texts, and flights, they built a life together in Michigan and California before finally saying “I do” in Karissa’s dream location: a Hawaiian beach wedding come true.

A Dream Day Come True

The Royal Lahaina Resort gave them everything they imagined: ocean views, a sparkling shoreline, and the soft sound of waves rolling in as they exchanged vows. The ceremony felt intimate and heartfelt, with sunshine brushing over them like the island blessing they always hoped for.

Their ceremony struck the perfect balance, the privacy and ease of a venue paired with the dreamy access to the beach just steps away. They stood beneath a stunning bamboo arch adorned with tropical flowers, giving the moment a lush, romantic feel without ever taking away from the ocean and sky behind them. Karissa made her way to the altar, sunlight catching her dress and a gentle breeze moving through the palms, as loved ones looked on with full hearts. The setup was simple and elegant, no distractions, no fuss, just pure beauty, island air, and a couple finally getting to say the words they’d waited years for. It was intimate, heartfelt, and everything a Maui venue wedding should be…

Afterward, we wandered the property and the shoreline for newlywed portraits, and Maui delivered its signature magic. Soft breezes, glowing light, and the kind of ocean backdrop that looks like it belongs in a watercolor painting. Kyle and Karissa looked so at ease, hand in hand, laughing, and soaking in the moment they had worked so hard to reach. Coaching high school basketball and cheer, building careers in construction and accounting, raising a pup and a kitten, adventuring through life together, all of it led to this golden Maui moment…It was a day filled with joy, history, and that unmistakable feeling of finally!
