“We visited Maui 2 years ago and fell in love with the island, the beach, and the people,” Maria and Oscar gushed to our wedding coordinators before their Maui elopement! They absolutely love Hawaii, and it felt like the perfect place to tie the knot. Their sweet kids Summer and Julian joined in their parent’s celebration…it was an inimate family affair full of love and light, as you’ll see!

A Family Affair

Our beautiful couple exchanged their vows in the sunshine and ocean breeze with their kids by their side. They have been together for nearly 16 years, so this moment was a long time coming! But it couldn’t have been more gorgeous of a day. Hearing their words and witnessing their tender, loving glances reminded us why we love what we do!

We love how their sweet kids matched their parents from Maria’s flower crown and Oscar’s outfit! Their Maui elopement was just as much as the beginning of the next chapter of their love story as it was a special family moment. Maria and Oscar are beaming with love in these portraits! After they said their “I dos,” our photographer took the happy pair towards the rocky cliffs at Ironwoods Beach. With the turquoise waters in the distance, this was the perfect spot for their newlywed portraits with all the islands’ natural splendor surrounding them!

We can’t get enough of how stunning our happy couple looks on the rocks with the turquoise ocean at their feet. (Barefoot, of course!) From start to finish, we are so delighted that we captured all these unforgettable moments! Their big day was full of bright, colorful, and priceless moments that we are honored to have participated in. Even though these two have been together for nearly 16 years, this marks the next chapter in their romance…one we know will be full of love and happiness!

Their kids were right there, too, to celebrate this moment and witness their parents reaffirm their love…

“Maui is a place we have visited together, a place we think is absolutely magical and are always scheming about when we can visit. What better occasion than our wedding,” our lovely couple gushed to our wedding planners before their big day. The dream of a Maui venue wedding became a reality for Eric and Emily! It was a wonderful day, the best day ever if you asked these two love birds! Everything down to the very details was spectacular, as you’ll see in these highlights below!

First things first, our wedding photography coverage began with Emily getting ready. Love, nerves, excitement… all the natural feelings were there as she donned her stunning lace gown! And what an entrance she made…

Something Different – A Day In Paradise

Their tropical ceremony was everything you could dream of, from the ocean waves just nearby to the privacy of this gem of a venue. Olowalu Plantation House is an exceptional oceanfront location for a Maui venue wedding and has all the charm and a historic feel. The elegant bamboo altar with blush-colored blooms of ginger, anthuriums, and protea was a signature feature of their inimate ceremony…so lovely!

But before we get into all the pretty details, here is a little back story on how these two met! So, Eric and Emily met in 2013 when they were students at the University of Michigan. They were in the same club and quickly became friends! After graduation, Emily went off to PA school in North Carolina, and Eric stayed in Michigan to attend medical school at the University of Michigan. One football Saturday when Emily was visiting Michigan, she ran into Eric, and their love story began! 

All their friends and family were so happy to be there to celebrate these two! They were surrounded by so much love and joy throughout their big day. Emily wanted “something different” for their wedding and thought a Maui venue wedding would also give their friends and family a chance for a Hawaiian vacation too!

It wasn’t long before the fun started with their bridal party! These will be forever standout moments from their Maui venue wedding. We love this property because it has so many secluded spots for moments like this! From the tropical foliage, oceanfront lawn, and rock jetty, there are SO many gorgeous spots for both candid and traditional portraits alike! After all, newlyweds need a little privacy after their “I dos!” 😉

These dreamy portraits of the new Mr. and Mrs. Colomb are simply breathtaking! It was so endearing to see how playful and sweet they were together. They laughed, smiled ear to ear, and savored each priceless moment of the first moments of newlywed life. You can tell they are the best of friends!

The cloudy sky in the background accentuated Eric’s pink tie and blue suit, which perfectly matched Emily’s pastel bouquet, don’t you think? Tropical wedding style perfection!

Curtis and Christine’s Maui vow renewal was a celebration of love, laughter, and the beautiful journey they have shared. Let’s rewind back to where it all began – they met on Match, a modern-day love story that started with a simple click. After two years of dating, Curtis got down on one knee and proposed, and two more years later, they said their “I dos” surrounded by friends and family.

Their love story continued to unfold with the arrival of their daughter Abby, who is now 11 years old. It seems their love knew no bounds as they joyfully announced a surprise pregnancy just two short months after their wedding! Their love has only grown stronger in these past 12 years…

A Family Celebration

Their lovely daughter Abby was present to witness their vow renewal. They love her so much and were so happy to include her in this special celebration – it was a family affair in the end!

The simplicity and elegance of their Maui vow renewal ceremony on Southside Beach captured the essence of their love. The sun-kissed sand beneath their feet, the gentle ocean breeze, and the picturesque surroundings created a magical atmosphere. Curtis and Christine looked even happier and more in love than ever before, radiating pure bliss! “I loved the idea of a destination wedding, and it gives our families the excuse to go on a vacation all together,” Jayme said before her Maui venue wedding! And what a beautiful day it was for everyone in attendance! They were so happy to be in Hawaii to celebrate with their families and start the next chapter of their romance. These two have a very sweet love story – let’s just say Grandpa knows best!

In 6th grade, he told Jayme that she would marry “this boy” that her Grandma was tutoring…she laughed it off and ignored it. But then fast forward to both of them in high school, where they met at a youth church camp and were smitten! And seven years later, these two lives were forever entwined, and they officially started dating, and the rest was history! Re-live their beautiful day with us in these memories below…

Jayme always dreamed of a destination wedding and was so delighted to see all the options we offer for an affordable Maui venue wedding and destination wedding on top of that! She had visited Hawaii before but was excited to create new tropical memories with Corbin for the first time. All heads turned (especially Corbin’s) when she entered with her dad at Rustic Hawaiian Ruins. Everyone prayed and gave a sacred blessing over our happy pair before their ceremony began. Their beautiful celebration was lighthearted, full of love and joy…and a little touch of country too!

Coastal Cowboy

How fun are these portraits?! The tropical and country mix was so unique for their wedding party attire! They went for a “Coastal Cowboy theme” – so fun! We love it when our couples incorporate elements of their personalities and styles into their Maui venue wedding, like Jayme and Corbin! You can take the couple out of the countryside but not the country of the couple! Our beautiful bride looks so lovely in her lace gown with vibrant tropical blooms…Corbin looks very handsome and dapper with his hat to match her boots 🙂

Our photographer took our happy newlyweds around the lush property for some intimate portraits, just the two of them. The verdant foliage and sun filtering through the trees created a magical ambiance for our happy pair! These two certainly aren’t in Washington anymore! A tropical dream come true…and the start of their lives together as husband and wife!

High school sweethearts Lauren and Cody recently tied the knot at their Maui venue wedding! They are both from Forsyth, Georgia and grew up in the same neighborhood, unbeknownst to them until they were in high school! It was only when they began dating did they realize they were so close, and they have been together ever since, for ten years to be exact! How sweet is that? A small-town romance in every way! Yours Forever

The beautiful Wailea Beach Resort provided the perfect setting for their special day. Set against the stunning backdrop of the ocean, the ceremony took place under a driftwood arch adorned with vibrant tropical blooms that took our breath away!

As Lauren and Cody exchanged their vows, their faces were filled with raw emotion, from love, joy, and reverence. It was a bittersweet moment that touched the hearts of everyone present. Cody’s mother was there in spirit at every moment of their special day…

But what exuded the most of their wonderful day was pure joy! The ambiance at their Maui venue wedding was filled with happiness and laughter. The guests couldn’t help but smile and feel the love in the air. It was a lighthearted affair, with laughter and cheerful conversations resonating throughout their special day…

Kelly and Jason’s Maui venue wedding was a truly special day for this amazing couple! As software engineers for different companies, they share a love for spending time with family. It was a beautiful and magical day and the island really showed off! They chose Maui for their destination wedding as it would give their family an excuse to visit the islands together. (We fully support that idea!) Our happy couple met through a mutual friend at a DnD night and got engaged at one of Kelly’s favorite plant nurseries. (She loves plants, so it was so thoughtful and sweet!) Fast forward to their incredible day in paradise when they finally became husband and wife…

The oceanfront ceremony at Merriman’s in Kapalua was absolutely beautiful! We loved how they incorporated all the tropical blooms into their special day, making it feel like a real island wedding. All of the bright blooms of their lovely day really popped against the blue sky and ocean…it was a whimsical and elegant touch to the natural splendor of their decor! The ocean breeze, sunshine, and vibrant blooms all added to the romantic atmosphere…

Kelly looks like a Hawaiian goddess in her radiant flower crown! Jason opted for a classic and fresh blue suit – love it!

After getting engaged on a breathtaking grassy cliffside surrounded by palm trees in Kapalua, they knew Maui would be the perfect location for their dream wedding. Leona had always dreamed of having an oceanside wedding with her feet in the sand… Their Maui elopement was stress-free, meaningful, and beautiful. The ceremony took place at Lahaina Shores, where Leona walked into a stunning fresh flower circle awaiting them on the beach. It was full of tender and loving moments as they officially became husband and wife!

After the ceremony, our happy newlyweds Leona and Artin couldn’t help but jump into the ocean, dress and all, to celebrate their love and excitement! It was their day, and their love story had come full circle since they got engaged on the island.

The bright sun shone, casting a warm glow over the happy pair. As the Maui elopement came to a wonderful end, the sky began to turn a beautiful shade of pink and orange. They drove off into the sunset, top down too! The sky was breathtaking, making the day feel even more special!

Who says old-school romance doesn’t exist? Not Lexi and Connor, who proved that true love can weather any storm. These two self-proclaimed “old souls” are all about communication, friendship, and investing in their future together. So when they decided to tie the knot with a Maui beach wedding, we knew it was going to be something special! Although they never thought of each other as more than friends in high school, Connor took a leap of faith and slid into Lexi’s DMs in 2018. After their first date, Lexi knew that he was the one for her, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. A high school romance always gets us teary-eyed!

Their sunset ceremony was breathtaking, with friends and family gathered around to witness their love and commitment to each other. Lexi and Connor’s words were heartfelt and sincere, and you could feel the love and connection between them…Connor made sure not to get a peek at his bride beforehand!

We love a gorgeous Gannon’s Wedding! So when April & Connor reached out to book our Maui Wedding Venue package there, we were so excited!

These two know how to create a meaningful and joyful celebration. They brought along their immediate family, their all-star style, and their romantic energy. And it all came together in the most beautiful way!

Dreamy Greens and Sweet Pastels

One of our favorite things about any Gannon’s Wedding is the stunning backdrop. You get the rich greens of the Wailea hillside and the glistening ocean in the distance. April & Connor decided to accent this natural beauty by adding a circle arch with lush tropical greenery. It created the perfect frame for their swift and heartfelt ceremony.

April also chose our Pastel Rustic Hawaiian bouquet. This one-of-a-kind creation features in-season florals that are grown here on Maui.

Then, as the sun began setting, it was like the sky drew colors straight from her bouquet. The horizon lit up with dreamy pastels straight out of a storybook. It was the perfect ending for a perfect wedding, though the newlyweds still had lots of celebrating to do!

After their Gannon’s Wedding ceremony and beach portraits, they met their family at the Grand Wailea for a delicious dinner. And then it was time to honeymoon! These two had such a fun vacation ahead of them!

Though we only spent a few hours with April & Connor, we felt honored to meet them. They’re an incredible couple who aim to share joy any chance they get. This radiated throughout their Maui Destination Wedding, and it shines in each of their photos.

A Complete Gallery for a Gannon’s Wedding

Gannon’s Restaurant is on a hillside that overlooks the ocean and Wailea shoreline. You could have a complete couple’s photoshoot on the grounds of the venue, since there are so many great backdrops to enjoy.

But if you have enough photo time booked, you can also visit the nearby beach for even more portraits. April & Connor were sure to plan on great beach portraits after their Gannon’s Wedding. This gives them a full photo gallery with a strong sense of place. You can really see that they’re on Maui.

A beach wedding in Maui is always a great idea! You get to have a simple yet meaningful ceremony, and the island’s natural surroundings provide the best backdrop.

Ryan & Silvia understood the draw, and that’s why they chose to marry in Maui. So on a bright May morning, we met these two on the shores of Poʻolenalena Beach for a memorable celebration. It was so much fun, and we’re honored we could be their Maui wedding coordinator.

An Early Start

We typically offer our Maui wedding packages in the morning or at sunset. Both are beautiful in their own way and offer a unique experience.

Ryan & Silvia chose a morning beach wedding in Maui, which suited this bright, adventurous couple. The beaches tend to be less busy in the morning, and it leaves the rest of the day to relax and celebrate.

But it does make for an early wake-up call. Ryan and the guests began arriving at the beach before 8 AM, and Silvia made her grand entrance a few minutes later. That means she was up before the sun, preparing her picture-perfect bridal look and anxiously awaiting the moment when she said “I Do.”

These two look great no matter what, but we especially loved seeing their amazing wedding style, which looked great at this beach wedding in Maui.

Another unique thing about morning weddings is how the photos look. The Karma Hill Team can really capture the blues in the ocean and the sky, and the greens of the trees stand out. It’s a bright, tropical look for couples who love the vibrancy of Hawaii.

Tradition & Originality at a Beach Wedding in Maui

When you get married in Hawaii, you get a lot of flexibility. After all, there are likely fewer guests to impress and less pressure to do things the same way as everybody else. You’re getting married in a unique spot, so you can choose elements that are true to you, even if it’s different from other weddings.

But you can also be as traditional as you want. Ryan & Silvia still included a grand entrance onto the beach, and they had a cake cutting after their ceremony. They wore formal wedding attire with a tropical touch, and took portraits that really showcased their style.

We’re impressed by how they balance tradition with originality, creating a beach wedding in Maui that was true to who they are.
