Did Elmer and Joan find the perfect location for their Maui venue wedding, or did the venue find them? Either way, it was a match made in tropical heaven! Elmer, the ever-busy electrician/rancher, and Joan, a dedicated stay-at-home mom to their two beautiful daughters, Arielle (10) and Natalie (4), have a full plate, to say the least. Between managing their 80-acre ranch—with 50 mama cows, a couple of horses, three dogs, and a dozen hens—they somehow found the time to plan a magical island wedding. And thanks to our incredible team of Maui wedding planners we made it happen!

Originally, they had set their sights on the Philippines, but when the pandemic hit and restrictions popped up, they quickly pivoted. Now here is where Maui into the picture—less busy, more a country lifestyle, and exactly the vibe they were looking for. The island already held a special place in their hearts, having visited once before, and this time, they would make it the setting for their big day. After 13 years together, including love at first sight (thanks, Elmer’s ice cream invite!), two kids, a home, and a life they built together, it was time to make it official!

Their day at Gather couldn’t have been more perfect. A stunning tropical arch framed their heartfelt vows, with friends and family cheering them on. The celebration continued on the lush lawn, laughter filling the air before they headed to Southside Beach. There, a breathtaking sunset was the cherry on top of an already perfect day!

Wedding Venue Considerations

While The White Orchid Beach House offers a stunning and intimate setting, there are a few logistical considerations to note:

• Parking Limitations: The venue only allows six guest vehicles, so if your guest count exceeds 15, a private shuttle service is required (not included in the package). Street parking is strictly prohibited and monitored by a parking attendant.
• Uber and Lyft are Not Available: Due to the remote location, ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are not available. It’s important to plan transportation in advance.
• Limited Cell Service: Cell phone reception is limited at the venue, though Wi-Fi is available for connectivity needs.
• Availability: This venue is available for weddings Monday through Thursday at the current package rate. Weekend bookings are possible with an additional fee. (Visit our packages page for full details.)

Bridal Suite for Pre-Ceremony Prep
Included in the site fee is access to the venue’s delightful bridal suite, where you can change into your wedding attire before the ceremony. The open garland style allows for better airflow and less weight on the neck, making them more comfortable to wear during hot Maui days. One area we always recommend splurging on is hair and makeup. Maui’s weather can be challenging, with humidity, wind, and occasional rain. Our trusted local experts, Salon 253 Bride, handled the hair and makeup for the styled shoot, ensuring the models looked flawless from start to finish.

You can add on our sparkling cider toast option or cake and toast option at this venue, it’s a great way to put a little tradition into your ceremony and especially if you are going to a nice sit down dinner nearby after your ceremony, allows for these moments to be photographed at your beautiful ceremony site while you have your photographer there.

Do you believe in fate? Well, in our line of work of coordinating Maui venue weddings, we do! Because fate intervened in Sara and Ben’s meeting as you’ll see! Meeting at church in middle school, they dated briefly in high school before life took them in different directions. Ben joined the military, while Sara pursued a nursing career. About ten years ago, they reconnected and have been inseparable ever since, dating for the past six years!

Sara, a neonatal nurse practitioner in San Antonio, had been to Oahu before, but this was the first trip to Maui for both her and Ben, who works in the insurance field. Sara’s aunt and uncle, long-time Maui visitors, sold them on the island’s beauty and magic, and it became the perfect setting for their Maui venue wedding! It was an aloha-filled day with color and love as you’ll see below!

Kristin and Christopher’s Maui venue wedding at Gather in South Maui was a day filled with love, beauty, and unforgettable moments. Their love story began at work back in 2014, and after years of shared adventures, Chris proposed in the most romantic way on the Oregon coast.

For Kristin’s 30th birthday, Chris made a custom glass float and secretly planted it on the beach. For years, they had searched for these hidden treasures and never found one. But this time, Kristin found the float with a note inside saying, “You found me! But I am luckier to have found you, schlubba!” (Their nickname for each other!) Turning around, she saw Chris on one knee with the most beautiful ring and surrounded by family and friends, she said yes. It was perfect. So we were beyond delighted to coordinate their incredible day, it was so beautiful!

Our Day, Our Lives Forever

Their wedding day was equally incredible. The ceremony was intimate, with close friends and family gathered to celebrate their love. Christopher’s eyes lit up when he saw Kristin, and his heartfelt gaze was truly heartwarming. Kristin looked absolutely stunning, and her radiance added to the beauty of the day.

The ceremony was sweet and filled with love, as Kristin and Christopher exchanged vows under the blue skies and golden light of Maui. The setting was picturesque, with the natural beauty of Gather in South Maui providing the perfect backdrop. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and tears of joy!

After the ceremony, the newlyweds went down to Southside Beach for some portraits of the first moments as husband and wife! The soft, pastel colors of the sunset added a magical touch to their photos, capturing their happiness and love most stunningly. They looked so happy and in love, making every moment of the day even more special. It was so sweet of them too to acknowledge those who couldn’t be there but undoubtedly bless them with love!

Maika and Yusuke’s Maui venue wedding day at Wailea Beach Resort was a glorious celebration of love, laughter, and new beginnings. Their story began in Tokyo, where they met while working at a new hotel. Despite being in different departments, their paths crossed, and they quickly became good friends. Friendship blossomed into romance, and after living together for 1.5 years, Yusuke proposed on Maika’s birthday, marking the start of their beautiful journey together! We couldn’t be happier to share their beautiful day!

Yusuke, a pastry chef from Kyoto, has traveled and worked in Toronto, Paris, Doha, Bali, and now Japan. His easygoing nature perfectly complements Maika, who is from Tokyo and has lived in San Diego, Maui, and Dallas. Together, they love watching movies, cooking, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Sounds perfect right?

Maika always dreamed of having a wedding in Maui, a place close to her heart. This dream came true as they exchanged vows at the stunning Wailea Beach Resort, surrounded by friends and family. Matthew and Lyka’s Maui venue wedding was nothing short of sublime! These two are also Maui locals, making it even more special for our island team! Matthew, a talented carpenter, and Lyka, a dedicated front desk agent are not only deeply in love but also expecting their first child! How exciting! Their island home of Maui provided the perfect backdrop for this special occasion, blending the beauty of their surroundings with the joy of their union. They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to say “I, do!”

Sharing The Love With Our Family & Friends

The day was spectacular, and the setting at Gather was just right. Lyka made an incredible entrance in her grand gown, looking every bit the radiant bride. Her beautiful veil and elegant tiara added a touch of timeless elegance, making her look like a queen. Matthew’s broad smile when he saw his bride was a heartwarming moment, capturing the love and excitement of the day.

The tropical arch where they exchanged vows added an island touch to their ceremony, perfectly complementing the lush scenery around them. The atmosphere was filled with love, happiness, and promises of the future. It was a lovely, intimate gathering of friends and family, all there to celebrate Matthew and Lyka’s love story!

After the heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds took some beautiful portraits on the lush grounds. The cheers and love from their guests created a joyous and supportive atmosphere, making the day even more special.
