The bride and groom were positively glowing with joy as Alyssa made her entrance with her aunt at their Maui Destination Wedding! With the clouds rolling in we weren’t sure how long we had before the storm would take over, but it all ended up working out perfectly. It sprinkled a little during the ceremony, but everyone stayed mostly dry until it came time for portraits on the beach. Michael and his groomsmen had a blast splashing in the ocean water! We love how their casual wedding attire gave them the opportunity to be carefree as they celebrated and had fun together, making memories none of them will ever forget. Alyssa even joined in on the water fun and didn’t give getting her A-line lace wedding dress wet a second thought. We always enjoy seeing our couples let loose and just enjoy the moment!

While rain at their Maui Destination Wedding might not have been ideal, they made the best of it and were rewarded with the most magical sunset! Nothing brings out the color in the sky like an island storm. Setting out seeking an intimate celebration, we loved getting to be a part of Melissa and Marcos’ Maui Wedding and Trash the Dress session. Telling few people what they were doing, they left New Jersey behind to revel in the romance of a private gathering to begin their new life together. With Rev. Joe’s kind words, they followed along with the custom ceremony that would find them committing their lives to one another. With promises made, they were declared husband and wife as the sun worked it’s way towards the horizon.

Having met at a mutual friend’s wedding, Marcos wasted no time, asking her for a date that night. When the right person comes along, you have to seize the moment! Fast forward to today and we were so honored to watch them take these steps forward together. Rounding out their wedding photo collection, we even got to hang out with them the next morning for a ‘Trash the Dress’ session. There’s something so fun about capturing two people madly in love, as they play and splash in the surf in their wedding attire. It’s a chance to let lose and really have fun with the milestone that’s just occurred. It’s one of our favorite things to capture! On an evening that couldn’t have looked any better, Shirley and Nicholas were thrilled to embark upon their next adventure together. More than ready for their Maui Wedding, this was the moment they had been waiting for since they first fell in love. After traveling here ten years ago on his own, Nicholas then brought his beautiful love here five years ago so she could experience the island paradise. Once engaged, discussions began of a beach wedding here and the agreement soon followed. Both loving the idea, this was the magical place they were meant to be.

First having an intimate first look before the ceremony, it was then time to tie the knot and make their love official. With loved ones looking on, they allowed Rev. Kimo to lead them through the language that would find them declared husband and wife before the day was through. As if that stunning display wasn’t enough, we then had the pleasure of spending the following morning with them as well for their Trash The Dress photo session. How incredible! The Honolua jungle treated them well and it was like something out of a dream. Shirley and Nicholas, you two are sweeter than Hula Pie together and we absolutely adored getting to be a part of this moment with you! Thank you so much for choosing Simple Maui Wedding!!! Gathering on the golden shore of Maluaka Beach for their Maui Wedding, this was a dream come true moment for Kara and Jonathan. It was also a moment years in the making. After meeting in the high school choir room their Junior year, their paths would continue to cross until senior year when they were both cast as the leads in the school musical. From there, love took flight. Although, sadly, as happens with many high school romances, it didn’t work out…or did it? After keeping in touch and remaining friends through college, they were always on each other’s radar and eventually found their way back to one another as adults. Finally, the handsome life long Texan captured the heart of the gorgeous globe trotting military daughter and the rest is history.

After an intimate engagement on Christmas, with family on hand to witness, the terrific Texas residents found their way to Maui for the first time in order to make things official. Passionate about their shared interests, and one another, theirs is a match for the ages. Together with their kitty cat fur babies, Fuzzums and Boo, they have built a full and happy life together and this marriage was just a further celebration of the love that’s always been there. We had so much fun with these sweethearts. Between the romantic sunset ceremony, and their awesome morning Trash The Dress Session a couple days later, we are happy to call these two friends now. Thank you, Kara and Jonathan, for inviting us in to your lives to share in your happiness. We wish you continued joy and hope this is the first trip of many to our fair isle. Congratulations and Warm Aloha!!!
