The Maui Beach Elopement

Hand in hand, Sarah and Tonya entered the beach together and set foot in a gorgeous custom flower circle. The Reverend Joe Miles began the ceremony with the traditional Hawaiian chant and lei exchange. It was so heartwarming to see Sarah and Tonya light up with joy as they exchanged vows and tied their lives together. There’s nothing more romantic than a couple stepping into the future together! 

Following their union, it was time for an intimate fist dance on the shore and a slice of cake and toast of apple cider! The Karma Hill Photography team caught all the sweet moments, including the incredible sunset and adorable local car rattlers! Scroll on for all the memories!

Andrea and Craig’s Maui Beach Wedding was beyond sweet right from the start. On the shore of Poʻolenalena with a handful of loved ones in attendance, Andrea and Craig tied their lives together through marriage and had us all misty-eyed! The weather was perfect for a comfortable beach wedding that ended in a pastel sunset of pink and peach. 

The Maui Beach Wedding

The love between Andrea and Craig was apparent from the moment she stepped onto the sand. Craig’s expression says it all, Andrea is his everything. Andrea wore a spunky high-low gown topped with a flower crown like the goddess she is! This bride was simply beautiful. In fact, everything about this couple is beautiful! From their tender expressions to the adoring lean-ins, Andrea and Craig are so clearly in love. 

Our Couple’s Story

Andrea and Craig love the number thirteen. They found each other on a 13th, got engaged on a 13th, and married on a 13th. And judging by the amazing love they share, we’re totally on board with this lucky charm! These two lovebirds adore each other and the island. They visit up to twice a year and even stay for an extended period (up to six weeks!) to get the full island experience. 

Together Andrea and Craig have three furbabies, two cats, Jenny and Penny, and Duncan, their mini-poodle. They love camping and hanging with friends. Andrea fell in love with Maui when she was only a teen and introduced Craig to the island ten years ago. They crossed paths at a mutual friend’s birthday party in November 2009 and got engaged on Kaanapali Beach in December 2013 (We spy that special number again!). Stephanie and Sam’s Beach Wedding in Maui featured sweeping ocean views and the wild tropics of the island’s northern coast. The day was bright and sunny, with a speckling of cloud coverage and plenty of Paia’s famous trade winds. This special union was the perfect blend of beauty and rustic elegance.

When Stephanie made her entrance through the woods of Baldwin Beach, Sam’s look of pure joy was unforgettable. And we get why! Wearing a glittering gown in a shade of caramel to match the soft sands, Stephanie is simply stunning. Her elegant up-do perfectly frames her lovely face, and the gilded tiara kept it secure in the playful winds.

Led by Reverend Kuya, Stephanie and Sam shared their vows while standing in a flower circle of blooms to match the bride’s bouquet. Traditional ceremony arches are restricted on public beaches, so this ring of beauty “lei’d” in its place. We love how serene and genuine Stephanie and Sam are as they tie their lives together. This Beach Wedding in Maui was flooded with love! 

Our Couple’s Story

Stephanie and Sam met while working in a skilled nursing facility. She’s employed as a speech-language pathologist, and Sam is a physical therapy assistant. They remained just friends for a year before dating and were engaged on a cruise in 2019. Stephanie has a young daughter from a previous marriage, and Sam has blossomed into a wonderful parent. Amy knows that she and Russ are “soulmates,” and it seems a Micro Wedding in Maui was written in the stars for these two. With COVID canceling all of their prior Big Day plans and with a trip to Maui already planned, the island was the perfect sandy venue for Amy and Russ to say, “I do.” Come see all of the joy and love of their very special day!

The Micro Wedding in Maui 

There was magic in the air when Amy graced the shore. Reverend Kimo blew the conch shell as the ocean lapped gently in the background. Amy and Russ had four special guests in attendance, Amy’s daughter and two of the couple’s best friends. But another very special guest made a surprise appearance. A Hawaiian monk seal rolled onto the shore to bask in the sun and the warm glow of Amy and Russ’ union.

Our Couple’s Story

Amy is a realtor in Buffalo NY and Ft. Myers Florida, and also owns a small bookkeeping business. Russ is a retired business professor with an accounting business called Small Business Resources.

Amy and Ross met in 1990 and dated for a year shortly afterward. Sixteen years later, they rekindled their friendship, and it was like finding their missing piece. Amy says, “We are soulmates, and we think almost exactly alike at times. It’s creepy!” But because Amy was recently divorced and her children were still young, they waited to progress things forward.

They were at last engaged in 2019 and the joy and love they radiated during their Micro Wedding in Maui was unparalleled! Just look at how genuine those smiles are! A circle of flowers, the ocean keeping tempo, the love of your life holding your hand, does a first dance get much better than this? Keep scrolling for all the sweet moments shared between these soulmates!!

Stacie & Andy have been together for about 7 years! They were engaged here on Maui 2 years ago and knew at that point Maui was where they wanted to get married! Maui is their happy place, their paradise, and they couldn’t imagine starting their married life anywhere else! It’s not every day we get to help plan a surprise Maui Vow Renewal and it might be our new favorite thing! Although celebrating love is always our favorite! We cannot get over how sweet it was for Peter to put together this special surprise for his wife. And we are so glad it all went according to plan, and what made it even more meaningful was their daughters Heather and Tiffany’s involvement!

When they arrived at the Fairmont Bonnie thought they were just there for a nice dinner. However, when Peter “proposed” on the grassy lawn Bonnie was so overcome with love and emotion. What a beautiful tone to set just moments before the actual Maui Vow Renewal! As Bonnie and Peter made their way onto the beach, they were greeted by their daughters and the ceremony went off without a hitch. We are confident this is a day none of them will ever forget. There wasn’t a dull moment during Emily and Alex’s Maui Beach Elopement, or the hours leading up to it! We can’t wait to share their story with you. They met 6 years ago and it’s been a constant adventure ever since! After getting out of the military, Alex became the manager where Emily worked. At first, Emily saw him as cocky lol. Alex was all about bettering the employees and whenever it came to Emily, it was impossible because everything she did was perfection. Eventually, they ended up falling in love and the rest is history 🙂 . Alex said, coming up with his vows took over 40 drafts! Every time he wrote one up, there were more and more things he loves about her. Awww!

The day before their ceremony, they traveled over 17 hours around Hana! They said it was gorgeous. Then on their wedding day, Alex went BACK to Hana to Skydive!!! Say what?! We definitely don’t recommend this as a wedding day activity but remember he used to be in the military. And he said he needed something to do while Emily got ready, so he chose that.
With the help of our team, Emily planned the whole Maui Beach Elopement herself and it was beautiful! It began raining when we arrived but the sun came out just before their first kiss! From there on, there were rainbows and whales throughout the rest of their evening. Thank you, Emily and Alex, for sharing your special day with Simple Maui Wedding. Congratulations and Warm Aloha!
