We loved being Jenna and Brandon’s Maui Wedding Coordinator! These two were so excited to get married, they literally planned this wedding 2 days before. Although they’ve known each other for a while, they only started dating a year ago. With Jenna’s parents, sister and nephew standing nearby this bride and groom were more than ready to say, “I do”.
We could not have asked for a more beautiful setting for this intimate wedding ceremony. It was a calm evening which ended with a magical sunset and even an epic rainbow as a sign of good luck and fortune for the happy couple! After taking gorgeous portraits with our sister company, Karma Hill Photography, our newlyweds headed to Spago for a celebratory dinner. What a wonderful way to end an already wonderful day! Thank you, Jenna and Brandon, for choosing Simple Maui Wedding to be your Maui Wedding Coordinator. Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

Laura and Nick were so happy and grateful to have close friends and family celebrate with them at their Maui Venue Wedding! After meeting through Laura’s brother, who was Nick’s roommate at the time, it only seemed right to include loved ones on their special day 🙂 . From elopements to beach weddings with a few standing guests and venue weddings with seated guests, we love it all. So we were thrilled to help plan this special day for such a special couple!
After a beautiful ceremony looking out over the ocean, our bride and groom made their way down to the nearby beach for a few portraits. We adore the connection these two have and it’s obvious it’s built on lots of laughter and love! From making silly faces to soaking in the romance of the moment, this couple had a blast together. Just as it should be! To finish their wedding day off with a bang, these newlyweds headed to Maui Brewing Co for a celebratory dinner with their wedding guests. The perfect ending to a perfect day! Thank you, Laura and Nick, for choosing Simple Maui Wedding to plan your Maui Venue Wedding. Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

As Madaline and Mitchell were surrounded by loved ones at their Maui Venue Wedding these two were more than ready to say, “I do”. Our bride and groom thoughtfully included a framed photo of Mitchell’s father, to have set up on on a chair during their ceremony. We were so touched by this gesture and absolutely love this photo our sister company, Karma Hill Photography, captured of the scene. So sweet!
The looks on Madaline and Mitchell’s faces say it all, they couldn’t be more in love! It’s obvious they light up each other’s lives. We have every confidence they will have all the happiness in the world together. Thank you, Madaline and Mitchell, for letting Simple Maui Wedding celebrate with you on your special day! Krista and Nick had a beautiful ceremony setting for their Maui Elopement on the lava rocks at Ironwoods Beach. I mean just check out that stunning scenery! These two have been together for 10 years after meeting at a restaurant they both worked at in Chicago, and were more than ready to get married.
They were so happy to leave the freezing conditions in Chicago for Hawaii paradise. This was actually Nick’s first time seeing the ocean! How special is that? We are confident he won’t be forgetting these views from their Maui Elopement anytime soon 🙂 . I mean how could you, these epic cliffs and crashing waves sure leave an impression! Our newlyweds spent another week here to honeymoon in the sunshine, talk about a great way to celebrate. Thank you, Krista and Nick, for trusting Simple Maui Wedding to help plan your destination elopement. Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

We love everything about this Maui Venue Wedding! These two traveled the globe to find each other and we are so glad they did! Amy is from Canada and Aaron’s from Australia. They met in London while they were both traveling alone. When we asked why they chose Maui to get married, they had two reasons. First, they hadn’t been here before. And second, it’s a half way point between Canada and Australia where both families could meet 🙂 .
It was especially darling to see their cute 2 year old, Arlon, participate in their Maui Venue Wedding. He seriously was so cute and funny! After the ceremony he celebrated by tossing flower petals and running around the lawn with his aunts and uncles. We can’t get over these sweet photos of our bride and groom with their little one, our sister company Karma Hill Photography captured their love for each other perfectly!
After taking beautiful portraits our newlyweds returned to enjoy a nice brunch at Gannon’s, check out those stylish details! We told you we loved everything about this couple’s special day. Thank you, Amy and Aaron, for sharing your love story with Simple Maui Wedding. It was an honor helping you take this next step in your relationship! Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

We are so grateful we got to be Emma and JJ’s Maui Wedding Coordinator! With love and magical light in the air, these two had a beautiful beach ceremony. The groom’s parents spend 6 weeks here every winter and offered to fly them out, so they took it as a good time to have the wedding! And we are so glad they did and that we were able to be a part of it 🙂 .
We cannot get over the powerful bond of love between these two! I mean just look at them, they absolutely exude romance. To make it even more romantic, this couple said, “I do” on Valentine’s Day! After taking wedding portraits, our newlyweds headed to Gannon’s for a celebratory dinner. Sounds like a perfect ending to a perfect wedding day! It was a beautiful day at Ironwoods Beach for Lacey and Derek’s Maui Elopement. This couple fell in love with this location for its epic cliffs. They always make for a dramatic and memorable setting! Their family knew they were eloping so they’re excited to see all the amazing photos taken by our sister company, Karma Hill Photography!
This bride and groom decided to arrive separately for their Maui Elopement and were pretty nervous until they finally got to be together again at the ceremony 🙂 . They’ve been having a great vacation filled with golfing and sight seeing. Plus, they got in the ocean a few times even though it’s been an especially cold week on Maui. It wasn’t cold for them though because they came from REAL winter weather in BC Canada! After being together for 8 years, engaged for almost 2, these newlyweds are more than ready for the future as husband and wife. Thank you, Lacey and Derek, for trusting Simple Maui Wedding to help make this day one you’ll always remember! Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

Looking out over the ocean at Dragon Fruit Farm, Tammy and Anthony’s Maui Venue Wedding could not have been more beautiful! With clear skies and gorgeous light, this day was nothing short of perfect. It was touching to watch as Tammy was escorted by her parents across the grassy landing to join Anthony for their ceremony in paradise. Even though these two were already married, they still wanted to celebrate their love in this memorable way! We love this so much and loved being part of such a wonderful occasion!
It was extra special for Tammy and Anthony to have their daughter, Audrey, with them at their Maui Venue Wedding. Isn’t she darling in these photos with them?! We can’t get enough of her cute little cheeks and neither could her parents 😉 . As the evening wound to a close the entire wedding group headed to Feast at Lele for a celebratory dinner! How fun! LeeAnne and Laren already had their vacation planned when they decided to have a Maui Destination Wedding while here! It was especially fun because these two met 14 years ago on February 6th, so the day was extra special for them 🙂 . As this bride and groom got ready for their beach wedding ceremony, they both had the help of loved ones in putting the final touches together. We love that this couple chose to keep their wedding group small for an intimate gathering at Southside Beach. It was especially touching to see their two sons participate in this important occasion. Aren’t they the cutest boys you’ve ever seen?!
We cannot get over how perfect this day was for LeeAnne and Laren’s Maui Destination Wedding. I mean just check out that gorgeous light! Your wedding day is, if not, the most important day of your life! So you should look and feel your best! Even if your wedding ambiance is going to be very relaxed and low key, we still suggest hiring a professional hair stylist. The main reason for this is the islands’ humidity, and wind present unique challenges most of our brides aren’t used to. The last thing you want on your wedding day is unnecessary hair surprises. Hiring a professional who knows how to style all types of hair for our climate expertly is highly recommended! It can mean the difference between your bridal look lasting 10 minutes or 10 hours.
The beautiful and talented Adiel Cline of Salon 253 Bride has worked with many of our past clients and was excited to share her top tips for achieving perfect Maui bridal hair. Here’s what she shared with us:
Your wedding day may be an opportune time to touch up your color, roots, or highlights. This advice Adiel gave is an ideal starting point when planning your hair for your wedding.
“If you get your hair regularly colored then coloring it a week before is best. Same with the cut if you’re getting a trim. This timeframe gives the hair time to settle, and you won’t have any obvious signs of re-growth. If you’re thinking of experimenting and having a change of style or color, I would recommend doing this well ahead of the wedding. This way you can make sure your new cut will accommodate the bridal hairdo you’d like!”

We want everything about your wedding day to work together perfectly; timing is one of the most crucial elements! When asked, “How long should a bride plan for professional hair and make-up?” Adiel responded with.
“The time it takes to complete your hair on your wedding day depends on the style you’re having and of course how many additional members of the wedding party require our services. Generally speaking, bridal makeup application normally takes around 45-60 minutes. Bridal hair design takes about 60 minutes, 45 minutes for each additional adult and 30 minutes each for flower girls and so on. Add up the approximate allotted times and add another 30 minutes for set up and clean up. We always book a little extra time to ensure we are ahead of the game on your wedding day.”
Remember, when scheduling your ‘hair and makeup time,’ make sure you leave yourself enough time to get dressed and travel to your ceremony location. Do not forget to leave a little time for the unknown because someone always forgets something or gets lost; it just happens!
The most important thing is to choose a style you will feel comfortable and beautiful with while being resilient to our climate and weather.
Here’s what Adiel had to say about choosing the perfect hairstyle.
“An updo typically lasts longer with the humidity and heat and will fare better if there is wind. Wearing your hair down is beautiful as well, and there are ways to help keep it more manageable with the wind. I like to call it the “down updo,” this is a hybrid style with most of the hair down with key pieces pulled back to keep the wind from blowing hair in your face while saying “I do.” If you’re still unsure, a trial is a great idea for testing different styles out. This way you can know for sure of the hairstyle you want before your big day arrives.”

Given that Maui can be very windy, an up-do is a beautiful yet practical option.(Especially, if you’re worried about fly-aways and hair in your face for your wedding photos.) An up-do can still look beachy and relaxed too! These are some gorgeous inspiration ideas with and without a veil.

Many styles work beautifully on short hair! Here’s what Adiel suggests…
“You may want to grow it out a little to accommodate a particular style you are interested in, or temporary clip-in extensions can be an option too. I would recommend testing any style before your wedding day so you can see what is possible with your hair length. Short styles can be fun as well as elegant!”

Along with spray tans and facials, hair extensions are one of those beauty procedures some women never consider trying until they’re preparing to walk down the aisle. It’s becoming increasingly popular for brides to include extentions in their wedding hairstyle. The key is choosing extensions that will look natural and complement your chosen bridal hairstyle.
Adiel offered this insight…
“We have seen some common mistakes with clip-in extensions. Don’t try clip-in hair extensions for the first time on your wedding day. Have your regular hairstylist or a friend put them in before your wedding, so you know what it’s like to have clip-in hair extensions. Trying the extensions beforehand will give you a better idea of how they will look and feel on your wedding day. Most extensions are processed remy hair (100% real human hair), which means they are VERY straight for packaging. The straighter they are, the harder it is to curl them. It’s advisable that you rinse, wash and or condition them before you use them (read packaging recommendations for care), allowing them to curl easier.”

Even if you know what you’re after, it’s best to set up a trial for your bridal hair. Sometimes you may change your mind after the fact! It will take the stress out of your wedding day, knowing the final result ofyour wedding hairstyle and makeup! We know with destination weddings, trials can be hard to fit into your itinerary; we often get asked if a trial is necessary for bridal hair.
We couldn’t agree with Adiel more when she said…
“If you can make the time I highly recommend setting up a trial before your big day! If you don’t normally wear makeup or have never had your hair or makeup professionally done, a trial is a great way to see how you will feel before walking down the aisle. You want to feel comfortable and like yourself, so seeing the completed look prior gives you some time to adjust so you are all set on your big day!”
It is important to wear comfortable clothing when doing your wedding hair and makeup prep for a few reasons.
Adiel suggests…
“It’s best to wear something that can easily be removed when it’s time to put on your dress. You don’t want it to disturb your hair or makeup. I always recommend washing your hair the night before and letting it air dry. Although, if you have oily or fine hair wash it the morning of your wedding, make sure it is “completely dry” before your scheduled beauty appointments.”

Thank you, Adiel, for sharing your knowledge with our brides and us! With these tips, we have no doubt they will be wedding ready when their big day arrives!

Robyn and Ronald started their trip on Oahu before heading our way for their Maui Elopement. They then honeymooned here for another week in paradise! How perfect! We feel so lucky to have been part of their wedding day and wish them all the happiness on the journey ahead 🙂 .
These two hit it off easily after meeting thru friends and family about a year ago, and we’re so glad they did. Witnessing as they exchanged words of love at their Maui Elopement was a true honor! We couldn’t have asked for a better bride and groom to work with. I mean just wait until you hear this sweet story, during their time at Polo Beach there was a little girl who was so in awe of Robyn (who wouldn’t be?!) that Robyn gave the girl her flower crown! The little girl was so thrilled and we thought it was just the sweetest thing. Thank you, Robyn and Ronald, for trusting Simple Maui Wedding to help plan this very special day. Congratulations and Warm Aloha!

Elizabeth and Bryan had the perfect Maui Beach Elopement! They were originally planning to get married at Ironwoods, but it was raining really hard there so we changed the location to Southside Beach and aren’t we glad we did! They got a beautiful sunset wedding with cool breezes and not a drop of rain to dampen their day. Plus, they even saw whales for the first time on their wedding day! So cool!
Being high school sweethearts they have been together for 15 years and were so excited to have an intimate wedding with just the two of them! This bride and groom were so laid back and have such supportive family back home who loved the idea of them eloping here on Maui. These two were also super excited to have a Maui Beach Elopement because it’s their first time to the island, so having a wedding and honeymoon all in one was a dream! Thank you, Elizabeth and Bryan, for giving Simple Maui Wedding the opportunity to plan your special day 🙂 Congratulations and Warm Aloha!
