A Hawaii Venue Wedding with Beach Portraits

This wedding took place at the Rustic Hawaiian Ruins — a private location in Kihei. It’s a quiet spot under swaying palm trees that has plenty of parking and lots of seating for guests. The newlyweds got beautiful portraits at the venue, and then we headed to the beach for some sunset photos.

It had been a long day of wedding prep, but as Sydney & Tristan slipped off their shoes and stepped onto the cool sand, they were instantly recharged and full of laughter. We’re so happy we got to see this side of them!

Our Couple’s Story

Krista and Derek’s story began when they met in a country bar! Our lovely couple immediately hit it off, so they two-stepped the night away. After this night, they were inseparable!

They got engaged while visiting Krista’s family on Vancouver Island for a fishing trip. Derek attached a flasher to her rod, and it said, “You are the catch of a lifetime. Will you marry me?” When Krista reeled in her line to head some, she saw the message! Then, she turned around to see Derek on one knee. Krista says it was a memorable moment and a creative engagement!

Our Couple’s Story

Ashley is in her second year as a medical student at the Military Medical School in Washington DC. Before continuing her education, she worked as a medic in the Air Force! She met Alejandro when they first started the prep program for medical school. Currently, Alex has an administrative position in the Navy but will be starting medical school next year at Washington State!

Alejandro popped the question to Ashley at Theodore Roosevelt Island in Washington DC. This location is one of their favorite places! When our adventurous pair first began dating, they would go there for evening hikes and explore the area. To make this moment more remarkable, Alejandro’s son was with them! Above all, we’re glad they made Hawaii another special spot by having their Maui beach wedding here!

Why We Adore Their Maui Elopement

Once our stunning bride and groom were ready, we traveled to the ceremony location. Andrea and Andrew walked down the shoreline hand-in-hand! Their entrance was simple — but it was also heartwarming. We watched our passionate couple walk down the aisle together to their new beginning! 

Next, it was time for Kahu Ricardo Hanako’o to begin his sermon! Since Andrea and Andrew were the only two in attendance, they ensured their loved ones could experience their elopement. Stephan Boeker Films was the videographer for this occasion and documented every minute! However, we like how Samantha from Karma Hill Photography captured every significant moment during the ceremony. Now, our beautiful pair can relive this remarkable event for themselves!

After our captivating couple became husband and wife, they took some Maui elopement portraits! The sun was in the perfect spot because the sky looked like a dreamy painting. Then every natural hue at Southside Beach was soft — enhancing the romantic ambiance. Lastly, surrounding Andrea and Andrew was striking scenery! The lofty palm trees, lush greenery, and foamy cerulean waves are breathtaking backdrops!
