After realizing it would be difficult to gather all their friends and family under COVID restrictions, Joanna and Eric decided to have a small and breezy Maui beach wedding. They wanted their special day to be simple, dreamy, serene, and intimate. Consider their wishlist granted! This wedding was everything and more. 

The Maui Beach Wedding

Set on the sweeping sands of Southside Beach, Joanna and Eric tied the knot in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Together since college, the love and friendship shared between these two is undeniable. When they first met, their friends referred to Joanna and Eric as “soul friends,” and now they’re also “soul mates.” 

We love the retro yet classic look of our couple. Wearing a bodice-hugging gown with gorgeous lace accents and warm and fresh makeup, Joanna is absolutely beautiful. Eric sported the perfect wedding attire without the jacket for a toned-down, beach-friendly look. But the best thing they wore were their adoring expressions, just look at these two!

Our Couple’s Story

Joanna and Eric met at a week-long summer camp with TRS. They hit it off immediately as if they’d known each other for years! Our Bride shared a wonderful story about their engagement, and we’d like to share it with you.

From our bride: “This past February, Eric planned and executed a perfect romantic week before popping the question. On February 13th, Eric surprised me with a stay-at-home date night: sushi making and sake tasting! He bought all the ingredients and supplies needed, and we made our own sushi and tasted yummy sake. The next day, Valentine’s Day, Eric surprised me with horseback riding on Folsom Lake!” 

“Afterwards, we went wine tasting outdoors. The following day, Eric surprised me yet again and took me zip lining at a local outdoor adventure park. That night, Eric told me to pack a suitcase because we would be leaving for a trip the next morning! On February 16th, we drove to San Luis Obispo County, on California’s central coast, to begin our getaway.”

”Eric dropped me off for a mani-pedi, and then we got ready for dinner. Eric told me we would have dinner delivered on the beach. When we got to Shell Beach, Eric said we had to wait a few minutes for the food to arrive. We started taking pictures. At one point, Eric told me to turn around so that he could get a picture of me staring off into the sunset. When I turned around, Eric was on one knee holding out a ring and telling me all the things he loves about me. I don’t remember a single thing Eric said, but I definitely said YES!”

Last week, Sunday and Mike had the sweetest Maui beach elopement with their cute children serving as flower girl and ring bearer. There was no need to decorate for this beautiful ceremony because Po’olenalena Beach had all the sparkle! It was a gorgeous morning with crisp ocean breezes and soft sands.

Our couple’s daughter opened up the ceremony with her cute smile and delicate petal-tossing. Her adorable grim was contagious! Then her beautiful mom stepped out onto the shore and the day felt even brighter! Mike watched as the love of his life walked towards him, and you could feel the excitement and joy in the air. 

Reverend Kuya officiated the ceremony with warmth and his joyous personality. The traditional Hawaiian lei exchange confirmed Sunday and Mike’s commitment with a touch of culture and elegance. The ceremony was simple and beautiful in all the right ways. 

After the “I do’s” our couple and their sweet family were ready to celebrate! Our team at Karma Hill Photography captured Sunday and Mike with a custom “Just Maui’d” sign, perfect for showcasing their beautiful union! Then it was time for high-fives and enjoying the sunlight! Kendra and Robert’s gorgeous venue wedding in Maui felt like a little holiday of its own! With lots of friends and family cheering them on and plenty to smile about, it was like the ocean was clapping along with the guests! Come see all the happy moments during this unforgettable ceremony at the 5 Palms in Wailea. 

The Venue Wedding in Maui

The 5 Palms is a venue like no other. With a ceremony location directly on the oceanfront and an island breeze touched with the salt of the sea, this is truly the experience of paradise. Kendra and Robert seemed right at home amongst the beauty. Wearing a striking gown with bell sleeves and endless lace, Kendra looked radiant. Robert watched his beautiful bride approach with a welcoming look of pure love. 

Following their “I do’s,” our couple sliced into a simple wedding cake decorated with flowers to match our bride’s gorgeous bouquet. Loved ones were laughing and chatting excitedly to celebrate Kendra and Robert’s union as our photography team whisked them away for some romantic couple’s portraits by the ocean. 

The ceremony was slightly overcast, but with the Maui sky, clouds are a good thing when it comes to sunset! The entire sky lit up with a brilliant glow as the island wished Kendra and Robert happiness and love in their marriage. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful venue wedding in Maui.

Beichuan & Yixiao celebrated their love with an elegant Maui wedding on the beach. The Kanaha shore featured sweeping ocean views and vivid tropical colors. With three of Beichuan’s friends in attendance and a bride and groom brought together by destiny, this was a ceremony made in the clouds. 

The Maui Wedding on the Beach

Wearing a gown with a train that danced in the wind, Beichuan looked absolutely stunning. Yixiao watched on with a look of pure happiness. There was a soft breeze during their Big Day and the sun shined brilliantly as it drifted closer to the horizon. Reverend Kuya officiated the union as Beichuan & Yixiao glowed with smiles and love.

After so many missed encounters growing up, our couple says there must be something magical that brought them together, at the right time, at the right place.

Our Couple’s Story

Beichuan & Yixiao know they first crossed paths way back in elementary school, but because they were both crushing on someone else, neither have a memory of meeting. It wasn’t until college where serendipitous meetings, one after the next, made them realize Destiny was trying to tell them something.

Love found its way into their lives, and now here they are, joining in marriage with a Maui wedding on the beach!

Adriana & Jonathan’s Maui Beach Elopement was a dreamy and romantic event. They wed at sunset on Maui’s North Shore, where the setting sun surrounded them with whimsical glow. Reverend Richardo officiated their Hawaiian ceremony, and they shared a first dance right on the beach! This worry-free wedding was a perfect fit for this barefoot pair.

About Our Couple

Adriana & Jonathan have actually known each other since they were in daycare, but they don’t remember that far back. Years later, Jonathan became best friends with Adriana’s brother. This gave our couple a chance to get to know each other, and eventually in college they fell in love!

They began dating on a beach trip to Florida. Adriana still has the clam shell turtle souvenir that Jonathan bought her on that trip. When Jonathan was ready to propose to Adriana, he took that very same turtle to that very same store, hid a ring inside, and popped the question. What a thoughtful and romantic guy!

Back home in Virginia, this sweet couple work at the same company. They are parents to an adorable toddler who is the light of their life. These hardworking parents definitely deserve some rest and relaxation during their Maui beach elopement trip!

Including Family in a Maui Beach Elopement

Adriana & Jonathan decided on a Maui wedding with just the two of them. As much as they wanted to share their big day with their loved ones, it became hard to plan something back home. Since they had already booked a Hawaii Honeymoon, they decided to have an elopement here too.

Only Smiles at this Maui Beach Wedding

To keep things simple and worry-free, Diane & Craig arrived to the beach together. Free of last-minute jitters, these sweethearts were excited to begin their ceremony and finally become husband & wife.

Reverend Kuya offered a traditional Hawaiian blessing, while Manutea Nui E provided classic ukulele music. As the palm trees swayed and the waves gently rolled to shore, Dine & Craig smiled their way through a heart-felt ceremony.

“Wish You Were Here”

Diane & Craig came to Hawaii for a peaceful and intimate ceremony. They were so grateful for all their friends and family supporting back home and were sure to get great photos to share with everyone. They also streamed their Maui beach wedding online thanks to Live Maui webcasts.

Our “Wish You Were Here” upgrade option allows virtual guests to watch the ceremony later that same evening. The footage from the ceremony stays online, so the newlyweds can look back on their ceremony anytime they want!

Our wedding party waited patiently for Autumn’s entrance. Wearing a flowing gown with intricate lace details and a smile to outshine the sea, Autumn was simply beautiful. Mason could hardly contain himself! When your love is this strong, it can’t be contained! We could not get enough of the sweet moments shared between these two. From forehead touches to nose-kisses, there was no doubt that Autumn and Mason were marrying their person! 

Our Couple’s Story

Autumn is an Xray Tech, working for a surgeon, and Mason is a hardworking chemical engineer. They both grew up in Billings, MT and met while working at the same sporting goods store. The chemistry was practically instant. But when Autumn realized Mason was a Junior while she was a Senior, she almost let him go. Luckily, she knew better! 

After graduating college, they moved in and began building a life together. They adopted their dog, Oliver, bought a house, and got engaged! Autumn tells the story: “We got engaged in November 2020 at Disney World Animal Kingdom. Mason got down on one knee in front of the tree of life. Kelsey and Kris stood together as the ceremony began. Wearing a simple sweetheart gown with lace applique and waves topped with a delicate flower crown, Kelsey was stunning. Decked out in slate gray with leather accents, Kris looked great himself. We loved the subtle sweet moments shared between our couple, like how Kris gently kissed Kelsey’s lei before draping it over her shoulders. There was so much love on the shore that day! 

Our Couple’s Story

Kelsey and Kris are both lawyers. In their free time, they like to cook together, read books, and play with their two sons… who happen to have tails and meow. Their first trip as a couple was to Oahu and they absolutely loved it. They dreamed of returning and exploring new islands, so the decision to elope in Hawaii came naturally. 

Kelsey and Kris met in law school and began dating in 2015. Turns out, the verdict was love! They got engaged in January of 2019 while on vacation in Mexico when Kris asked Kelsey to marry him over dinner in their hotel room. Kelsey said it was the ideal proposal for her, intimate, private, and emotional.

Celeste and Richard’s Hawaii Beach Elopement was a tropical paradise painted in gold. Polo Beach set the stage with white sands and sapphire waters as our couple said “I do” beneath the rolling sky. When it comes to take-your-breath-away beautiful, this ceremony was that and then some!

Richard waited patiently on the shore, his back turned as his lovely bride approached. Wearing a halter dress with ribbed accents and layers of chiffon, Celeste is a goddess walking. As Richard turned, his joy was overwhelming.

Our Couple’s Story

Celeste hails from South Africa and moved to the states after teaching in South Korea for five years. Richard is a doctor working on his radiology residency at BAMC in San Antonio. Together they have two pets: Noodle (a kitten Celeste found on the street in South Korea) and Daegu (their new staffy pup) named after the city they met in.

Our bride tells their story: “We met in Daegu, South Korea in 2019. I was working there as a teacher and Richard was working as a physician on the army base. It wasn’t love at first sight 😂 but he slowly wiggled his way into my heart with his humor and charm. Before I knew it, I was completely smitten with this American doctor. Emily and Kyle chose to elope in Maui at the ancient and beautiful Rustic Hawaiian Ruins. Our Maui elopements commonly take place on the shoreside, so when Emily and Kyle decided on a venue, we were thrilled for the unique opportunity. Surrounded by rustic textures and history, a Maui wedding doesn’t get more intimate than this!

The Ceremony – Elope in Maui

Reverend Joe Miles opened the ceremony with the sacred blowing of the Hawaiian conch shell. Then it was Emily’s turn to make an impact. Wearing a satin off-the-shoulder gown, with pin-worthy locks and a smile big enough to outshine the Maui sun, Emily radiated with happiness and was simply stunning.

Emily and Kyle chose a venue to elope in Maui because of the rich textures and traditional setting. With the entire venue to themselves, they said “I do” in one of the island’s oldest churches, built with hand-laid coral bricks and featuring a striking driftwood cross. Intimate, traditional, and entirely original.

Our Couple’s Story

Emily works as an administrative coordinator for a hospice agency, and Kyle is a lineman for a utility company. They don’t have human children yet, but their two dogs take up plenty of room in their hearts. Together they enjoy spending time with their furbabies, fun activities like bowling, playing sports outside, watching Netflix, and spending time with friends and family.

Emily and Kyle met when her best friend married his brother. After college, Emily moved in with her BFF, and soon, destiny brought her together with Kyle. They’ve been together almost eight years, and during their trip to Aruba, Kyle proposed on a spectacular beach. Emily said, “It really was the most amazing moment and I was completely in shock.” And we know this is only the beginning of this couple’s beautiful story together…

Tianna is a medical secretary and Anton works as a doorman. One day Tianna walked through his door (AKA Tinder match) and the chemistry was instant! Adriana made her entrance, looking stunning in a gown with drapery accents and a full button-down back. Sporting a tan linen suit and a megawatt smile, Chris was the walking embodiment of a happy groom! What could be better than celebrating the love of your life in pure paradise?! 

Reverend Kuya opened the ceremony, and our couple exchanged traditional leis and vows before the big “I do.” After a sweet bite of wedding cake, we took advantage of the gorgeous sunset and explored the striking backdrops of Ironwoods. Keep scrolling for more of this beautiful Maui Micro Wedding! 

Our Couple’s Story

Chris owns a landscaping company, and Adriana works for a general contractor company in the risk department. Together they have four children, a son and daughter from Chris and two daughters from Adriana. They met at work and have been together for roughly seven years. When Chris felt the moment was right, he proposed to Adriana on a casual Sunday with all her family there to celebrate!

And here they are, five years later and living the dream, getting married on an island where Adriana describes as a place “You can breathe peace and come back to the real world full of positive energy!!” We think that perfectly encapsulates this beautiful Micro Wedding in Maui!
