While Cheryl and Christian would have loved a large wedding in their hometown of Washington DC’s metro area, they both felt that it was safest to elope in Maui and celebrate later when things get better. And we can’t think of a more intimate or beautiful Plan B! Basked in the soft light of the late afternoon and with the crisp, salty air of the ocean on their cheeks, Cheryl and Christian celebrated their union with just their closest loved ones watching on.

Our Couple’s Story

Christian works in IT for the government, and Cheryl is a registered nurse. They have two beautiful and brilliant children, Juliana and Isabella, and love to travel! Pre-pandemic, Cheryl and Christian sought out adventures to neighboring states, but with the new stay-at-home era, they keep their voyages closer to home. Their trip to elope in Maui is their first big journey since the pandemic began! 

Cheryl and Christian met online a few years ago. For their third anniversary, they celebrated with a lunch out on the town. On their way home, they debated dining in or having dinner out with their daughters. Imagine Cheryl’s surprise when they walked into their home to find their two best friends (both of whom were chefs) already preparing dinner in our couple’s kitchen!

Cheryl was surprised, but Christian quickly went to work putting the finishing touches on their meal. Before they could sit down and eat, someone knocked on the door. Cheryl’s brother and cousin had joined the party! At one point, Cheryl turned and there was Christian, down on his knee, asking Cheryl to make him the luckiest man in the world. Some couples, like Alecia and Tyler, are fortunate enough to find their soulmate early in their journey. And when something as magical as true love comes around, what better way to solidify the union than with a beautiful Maui Beach Elopement. The Maui Beach Elopement

Wearing a layered wedding gown with a custom bouquet of red roses and white orchids, Alecia is simply stunning. We love her elegant yet beachy hairstyle and natural, glowing beauty. Our Couple’s Story

Alecia and Tyler met in high school and soon realized they’d met the love of their lives. They were engaged in 2019 while visiting Tyler’s Mom in Oahu. During a trip to Haleiwa beach, Tyler proposed in front of the sunset, and the rest is history! Our bride shares their story:

“Our first Maui visit was in September of 2018 (and was incredibly planned entirely by Tyler, as a surprise for me and to do something special after not seeing each other for 13 months prior due to Tyler not being able to take leave). Tyler just got out of the military this February and will be going to college as a next step. We were long distance for the majority of our relationship prior to Tyler’s military separation back in February, which we had been waiting for since we got together just a few months before he was sent off to boot camp. Another cool tidbit is that we recently found out that unknowingly attended the same school when we were in second grade!”

After having to cancel their formal wedding multiple times, Raquel and Jason decided to have a simple yet elegant Hawaii Beach Elopement instead. Teresa and David chose to elope in Maui to celebrate their love and the beautiful family they’ve created. With their two adorable kiddos watching on, Teresa and David tied the knot against the spectacular backdrop of Southside’s glistening shore. Our Couple’s Story

Love was everywhere for Mandy and William’s Hawaii Beach Elopement. Polo Beach set the stage with vibrant morning hues of aquamarine and emerald greens, and the warm trade winds topped off the tropical mood. Mandy and William dreamed of a wedding day that was relaxed, happy, and simply elegant. We were thrilled to bring it into reality! 

The Hawaii Beach Elopement

Mandy and William are the kind of couple that just knows. After two years together, one day William looked at Mandy and said, “Is there some reason we aren’t already married-Why don’t we get married now! Let’s just do this already,” and she agreed. No bells or whistles, just a couple who knows what they want with no strings attached.

Their gorgeous Hawaii Beach Elopement was #SameEnergy. Nothing but the gentle Maui sun, smiles, and joy. It was clear that Mandy and William aren’t only madly in love, but they’re also the best of friends. 

William works as a home project manager for a tech company, and Mandy serves the community as a doctor, where the hospital is her second home. They met on Bumble and now share an adorable Italian-style home they’ve nicknamed the “villa.” Together, they love to hike, snowboard, and travel. But during the quarantine days, they’ve rediscovered Netflix (as we all have!).

With no children or pets so far, Mandy will sometimes joke that she’ll surprise William with a little pug one day, to which he replies he wants “a real dog.” Mandy and William were so easygoing and fun to be around. Our Couple’s Story

Tiffany and Brian are both artists, with Brain working as a graphic designer and Tiffany being more of the wild and free painterly type. They met for the first time in college where they were both majoring in graphic design. But the time wasn’t quite right. Brian was a senior and Tiffany was a freshman, so they didn’t get much opportunity to get to know each other. It wasn’t until seven years later when they both signed up for eHarmony and fell into each other’s lives again.

They met up at a popular Dutch restaurant and simply talked for hours. During the conversation, they realized that since college they’d lived in the same neighborhood, TWICE! One thing led to another, and they were engaged at a special place called Seven Bridges on the beaches of Lake Michigan, with their good boy Hank watching on. Together they love good food, Badger games, and playing with their furbabies, not to mention having a blast on the sand! How cute are these two?!

Jill and Eric met playing soccer in San Francisco, and little did they know that the end goal had nothing to do with a net and everything to do with a Maui Beach Elopement! Ironwoods set the stage with rocky outcroppings and the deep, wild shores of Maui’s west side. With luminous lighting and plenty of sweet embraces, this wedding day is a must-see!

The Maui Beach Elopement

Beneath the endless Maui sky, Reverend Richardo led the ceremony with wise Hawaiian adages. The ocean sent its sounds of Aloha while Jill and Eric held gazes as they exchanged leis and wedding rings. Read on to see our couple joined in marriage and celebrating with a first kiss.

You know, just the ordinary first kiss in front of a spectacular ocean view with powder-soft sands beneath your feet, the Maui sun on your shoulders, and the towering cliffs of Ironwoods beach in the backdrop. Nothing to write home about… Seriously though, how incredible is this Maui Beach Elopement! 

Following the ceremony, we escorted Jill and Eric around the premises to capture all those luscious dynamic shots Ironwoods is known for. We loved how Jill’s gorgeous dress blended ever-so-perfectly with the rustic ocean hues.

Designed by her own mother, Jill’s turquoise ombre gown with floral overlay looks like it was sewn from the sea. Having designed three out of four of her daughters’ wedding dresses, Jill’s mother knows her way around Big Day drapery! What a special way to be a part of the before process as well as the actual ceremony. Well done, Mom!

Our Couple’s Story

Jill owns a baking company that specializes in homemade-style desserts. She bakes desserts & designs dessert tables for weddings and everyday life events. Eric is an engineer at Stripe for a company in San Francisco. They have a dog named Finley who they adore and spend most of their free time with. Jill and Eric met while playing on the same recreational soccer team in San Francisco.

It took TWO years before they began talking, but it didn’t take long after that for the romance to brew! Their relationship started with emails from Jill giving Eric pro marathon running tips, and after a run together with friends, their relationship blossomed (or maybe, in this case, it took off with a sprint!). Anna and Kyle chose to elope in Maui in secret… And what a gorgeous surprise it was! Our bride and groom have the energy and easy-going nature of best friends, and they were simply a joy to work with. The smiles and laughter didn’t stop even when a rare Hawaii downpour graced the beach.

The Beach Elopement Ceremony

The ceremony began with an overcast sky that created dynamic lighting. As soon as the vows began, the island unleashed a brief downpour. We can only imagine how heartfelt their words must have been, considering Maui could not resist joining in on the blessing! Anna and Kyle chose to continue on and shared one of the sweetest “just married” kisses we’ve seen, all while underneath a cozy umbrella! 

As soon as the kiss ended, so did the rain! The clouds parted and the sunlight returned just in time for our Maui Wedding Photographer to capture gorgeous photos of our lovebirds enjoying the beach. Dreamy lighting? Check! Maui blessing? Check! Couple in love? Check, check, check! 

We’re head over heels with the bold look Anna sported. When you elope in Maui, why let the ocean be the only thing making a splash on the shore?! Lisa and James confess that they “Love, love, LOVE Maui!” So, of course, they wanted to tie the knot with a Maui elopement! Lisa is a semi-retired banker, and James is a jack of all trades, working as an electrician and owning both real estate and a restaurant. Their marriage ties together two families, Lisa’s three girls and James’ son, daughter, and granddaughter. These two have plenty to smile about!

Our Couple’s Story

When Zoey received a friend request from Jasper on Facebook, she had no idea it would lead to marriage. At just fourteen, these two were busy with high school academics… but there’s no waiting for love! When it happens, it happens! And soon, Zoey and Jasper knew they’d found their person. 

They both love hiking, so Jasper set up a very special hike to the top of Mt. Ebert. He invited his brother to join them, but Zoey was in the dark that bro was just the designated photographer. Once they reached the top, Jasper popped the question. She, of course, said yes. We’re pretty sure it wasn’t just the mountain that made them both feel like they were on top of the world.

Rachel & Michael’s initial wedding plan didn’t include a Maui elopement. They originally planned to get married in their home state of Minnesota. With the pandemic all around them and many family members being too high-risk to attend a wedding they decided an elopement in Maui was sounding pretty amazing!! We couldn’t agree more. There will be many years to come where you can celebrate with friends and family but this day, was just for you two!!

How Did They Meet?

Rachel & Michael had an instant connection when they first met. Like so many other couples they met in the world of online dating. They shared many messages and talks on the phone and both knew that there was something there. Once they finally were able to meet in person they were never again apart!

They have enjoyed many firsts together like their first vacation, their first puppy, who is a Siberian Husky named Captain, their first (and hopefully only) pandemic! lol! These two have really created a special bond and it means the world to us that they continued their story on the beaches of Maui.
