Though friends at first, it wasn’t until college that they realized their feelings for each other. Aren’s romantic proposal in downtown Chicago, aboard a boat on the Chicago River, set the stage for a lifetime of shared adventures. Choosing Maui for their wedding was a natural decision. Alexis’s love for Hawaii’s beauty sold Aren on Maui as the perfect wedding location.

A Perfect Venue Ceremony

Their wedding started with Alexis walking down the aisle to “Canon in D,” played on a ukulele by Jon of Manutea Nui E. She looked radiant in an off-the-shoulder white gown, her dark hair cascading in loose waves and a delicate veil flowing behind her. Alexis’s bouquet of white orchids and roses with green tropical foliage complemented her elegant appearance perfectly. Aren, equally dashing in a traditional barong tagalog, stood waiting at the altar.

The ceremony took place under a beautifully decorated bamboo arch draped with sheer white fabric, gently swaying in the ocean breeze. The serene setting of Gather On Maui, with its vibrant tropical flowers and lush greenery, provided a picturesque backdrop for the couple’s vows. When Eric first saw Tracie you could tell he was stunned by how incredibly beautiful his bride was. His smile was filled with so much emotion it was truely infectious. Tien and Jacqueline’s Maui venue wedding day at the Andaz Resort in Maui was a delightful celebration filled with joy, love, and the warmth of friends and family. Their journey began at a dental school’s welcome weekend in April 2019, where they quickly hit it off over dinner at the same restaurant. Their bond grew stronger over the summer, and by the time school started, they were inseparable.

Fast forward to May 2023, Tien and Jacqueline graduated, moved to Dallas, and began their careers in dentistry. Jacqueline practices as a general dentist, while Tien is completing his residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). In their free time, they enjoy being homebodies with their four cats, dining out, playing pickleball, and binge-watching the latest shows and movies! Two peas in a pod! Tropical Elegance Done Right

Their proposal story is as enchanting as their wedding. Tien surprised Jacqueline with a proposal at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, using a ring his mother bought for him when he was four years old, reset in a simple golden band. How touching is that?! Just about the sweetest thing we’ve ever heard!

Choosing an intimate Maui wedding, they exchanged vows on the beautiful Laule’a 3 Lawn at Andaz Resort, marked by a stunning greenery arch. And of course the star of this site, the old-growth Kiawe tree! The ceremony was intimate and beautiful, reflecting their desire for a special moment shared with loved ones without the stress of a large, extravagant event..exactly what Simple Maui Wedding does best!

Jacqueline looked exquisite in her minimalist wedding dress, and Tien was handsome in a classic tux. They both were a sight to behold against the tropical greenery! Their happiness was contagious, radiating through every portrait… The newlywed portraits by the beach were especially romantic, capturing their love in the most picturesque setting. As a nurse and a critical care nurse respectively, Justine and Dillon lead busy lives filled with compassion and dedication to their work. Sarah, a talented massage therapist, and Joey, a dedicated GM for Big O Tires, share a love for golf and their two beloved pit bull mix rescues. Treasured childhood memories of Joey’s inspired their decision to tie the knot in Maui. Their love story began through the connection of a mutual friend, who happened to be Maggie’s childhood companion. And what a journey it has been since then! With Maggie’s move to San Diego to be with Skyler, their love blossomed amidst beach sunsets and playful moments with their beloved dog, Kuma.

Skyler’s proposal was nothing short of magical, a perfect ending to a challenging year. Swapping Kuma’s dog tag with one that read “Will you marry my daddy?” was a clever and heartwarming gesture that left Maggie speechless. How sweet is that? This brings us to their beautiful albeit a little rainy Maui venue wedding day at Gather. But the showers didn’t dampen the joyful mood and ambiance! They fell in love with Maui and its tropical charm and this venue had both the best of a beach and a venue rolled into one…

Their Maui wedding day may have started with a few sprinkles, but as they exchanged vows in the shelter, surrounded by the love of their closest friends and family, the rain only added to the magic of the moment. And when the skies cleared, they made their way down to the beach, where they shared intimate and romantic moments together as husband and wife for the very first time…

Maggie looked absolutely radiant, not letting the cloudy weather dampen her spirits! While Skyler’s classic navy blue suit was a winner in our book. We were honored to make their wedding day a reality!

The Best Idea

When the idea of a Maui wedding venue popped into Carina’s mind, she knew it was the perfect fit for their laid-back yet romantic style. So, with excitement in their hearts and a little drizzle in the air (which, as they say, is good luck!), they said “I do” at Gather in Kihei. After all, it’s supposedly good luck!

The sprinkle of rain only added to the romance of the moment, making their ceremony even more unique. After exchanging vows, they sought shelter, finding solace in each other’s arms as they waited for the sky to clear.

But when it did, it was like a dream come true. With the sun peeking through the clouds, Carina and Oliver ventured down to Southside Beach for their newlywed portraits. Against the backdrop of the sparkling ocean, they radiated happiness and love.

Carina brought a touch of glam and sparkle to the occasion, while Oliver looked dapper as ever. We love the gold and black theme! Their smiles said it all – they were overjoyed to be starting this new chapter of their lives together!
