Here’s the thing about Maui: it has this ridiculous ability to make you believe that time has slowed down in a Maui venue wedding. Which is precisely why Edla and Lachlan knew, basically from their very first trip together, that this island was going to be the place. The place. The spot where they’d trade their “I do’s,” barefoot on golden sand and surrounded by tropical blooms and the ocean.

Edla, who spends her days as a registered nurse, is used to keeping calm under pressure. Lachlan, a marketing director in private equity, is used to thinking strategically about, well, everything. But on their wedding day at the Four Seasons Maui? Both of them were just two people wildly in love, ready to take the next step.

They met online four years ago (proof that swiping right occasionally does lead to happily-ever-after) and got engaged in the sweetest, most them way possible: the night they moved into their first house together. Their Maui venue wedding ceremony at the luxe Four Seasons unfolded beneath fragrant trees and a driftwood arch, overlooking the glittering ocean. There were blush-toned bouquets, heartfelt vows, and that kind of sunshine that feels like it’s specifically rooting for you.

The Four Seasons Maui wrapped their wedding in pure elegance. Imagine walking through tropical gardens that smell like plumeria and ginger, every corner framed with palms swaying as though the island itself is clapping for you. The ceremony space? Unreal. Two flowering trees arched overhead like a living canopy, their branches strung with sunlight. Beneath them, a driftwood arch adorned with coral-pink and ivory blooms overlooked the endless blue Pacific, while the West Maui mountains brooded romantically in the background. Guests sat in awe with the ocean glittering behind the couple….

Later, the newlyweds wandered the luxurious grounds. They also stole a kiss by the resort’s grand fountain, where the sound of cascading water enhanced the dreamy mood. Every corner of the property, from lush lawns to oceanfront paths, turned into a cinematic backdrop for their love story.

After they exchanged vows and wiped away happy tears, we whisked Edla and Lachlan to the beach for their newlywed portraits. This is our favorite part, the quiet exhale after the ceremony, when the golden Maui light wraps everything in soft warmth. On Wailea’s sandy shore, the couple strolled barefoot, leaving heart-shaped footprints in the sand. The light danced off Edla’s lace gown, turning every step into something cinematic, while the ocean shimmered behind them in pastel blues and silvers. Their joy was palpable, and our cameras soaked up every dreamy, golden second.
