More Than A Dream – Makayla & Hunter’s Maui Elopement

Some love stories are sweet and slow and simmer over time, like Makayla and Hunter’s. These two met through mutual friends over five years ago, officially became a couple a few months later, and have basically been each other’s favorite adventure buddies ever since…which leads us to their Maui elopement!

After a magical Disneyland proposal (yes, in front of the castle, cue the collective swoon), wedding plans were gently postponed when Makayla started nursing school. Because sometimes life says, “Let’s take care of business first,” and these two? They handled it with so much grace.

Fast forward almost two years, and finally, the beach wedding they dreamed of came to life. Their Maui elopement at Maluaka Beach was everything they had hoped for: simple, stress-free, and incredibly beautiful. The golden sun danced on the water, the breeze was soft, and these two looked at each other like they still couldn’t believe it was real. (It was.)

In The Moment

Makayla glowed in her white dress, soft waves in her hair, and the kind of smile that says “this is the beginning of forever.” Hunter couldn’t stop beaming at her, equal parts awe, joy, and “I can’t believe she’s mine.” Together, they were the kind of couple that made everyone around them believe in love a little harder.

They stood by the water’s edge, just the two of them and the sound of gentle waves rolling in, and made their promises. Simple. Beautiful. Honest.

Their session was filled with color, movement, and so much warmth, the kind of photos that don’t just show what the day looked like, but exactly how it felt. And while their two adorable miniature dachshunds, Willy and Tilly, stayed back home, we’re pretty sure they were sending all the tail wags from afar!

After their sweet, simple ceremony, we had the joy of capturing their newlywed portraits, and ohhh, they were pure magic. With the Maui coastline behind them, golden light wrapping around them like a warm hug, and that just-married energy lighting them up from the inside, every photo felt like a little slice of forever.

They laughed, they twirled, they held each other close like there was no one else in the world. The breeze tugged at Makayla’s dress just enough to make it look cinematic (thank you, island winds), and their love for each other came through in every single frame!

Makayla and Hunter, you two are lovely. Radiant. Full of joy. And so clearly meant for each other. Thank you for letting us capture such a heartfelt, sunlit beginning to your next chapter.
