Sunshine & Science – Joshua & Kasey’s Maui Beach Wedding

A Maui beach wedding at Po’olenalena Beach feels a little bit like stepping into a screensaver, except it is real and you can feel the sand between your toes. Kasey and Joshua flew all the way from Fort Wayne, Indiana to stand in that golden light, and we could see immediately that this was exactly where they were meant to be. Two microbiologists who met on the same hospital shift, who fell in love somewhere between lab reports and long nights, choosing sunshine and salt air as the backdrop to forever.

The ocean stretched endlessly behind them, the waves rolling in soft and steady, and Kasey looked at Josh like he had just handed her another note tied to one of their beloved dogs asking her to marry him all over again. Only this time there were no backyard decorations, just Maui doing what Maui does best and showing off.

They have always joked about honeymooning in Hawaii one day, and then they did something very on brand for two smart, decisive scientists. They turned the honeymoon into the wedding. Barefoot in the sand, wrapped in that warm island breeze, they promised forever in the place they both dreamed about. There is something wildly romantic about choosing joy on purpose, about loving sunshine and the beach and your two fur babies so much that you build a life that reflects it.
